Wishing for a speedy recovery !

I started in April (26) and had surgery July 19. I have tricare south... Idk why they want all those things from you all !

Two weeks ! I start full liquids for a week and then puréed the week after that !

Exactly ! Lol

Trust me . Walking helps but gasx helps relieve some of the discomfort faster . And no , they don't have a medicine there to help relieve gas.

Please take something for gas immediately because it is REDICULOUSLY painful. I had 2 surgeries in one and all I can think of is the gas pain !

Here's fun 1. Tie my shoes/buckle then without being out of breath. 2. Not having to do the "dance to get in my pants" morning routine. 3. Not spending 70 dollars on a good fitting pair of jeans. 4. Being able to walk up stairs and not have to pretend that am not tired in front of students ! Meanwhile , I am dying inside ! Lol 5. Being able to wear heals and not feel like people are watching me for a good laugh. 6. Being able to go to a normal store, look at regular clothes and not have people stare ! 7. Not bring that fat cheerleader who everyone loves and breaking the stereotypes (i do backhand springs for a living lol NOT.., and not everyone who is fat is lazy !) 8. Quit hearing all the time, "you are such a beautiful young lady, but if you lose done weight, you'll be drop dead gorgeous ! 9. Tired of having an X besides my sizes !!!!! 10. Being able to have a healthier lifestyle !

I had surgery on July 19, 2012 . Please get up and walk . Even if it just to the door, walk ! It helps and makes recovery a lot easier ! I had gasx also . It helped ! Please just walk and don't be afraid to ask for meds ; the have plenty lol ... Good luck and may God bless you and keep you ! You are almost there ! Keep us updated !

The Gas is something that gas been unbelievable . It hurts like crazy but I have been using gasx and only taking my pain meds like 2x a day . My abdomen is sore but I'm back to my daily routine of things . Just takes me a bit longer but I manage ! Parents haven't helped me since the first night because I have not really needed it ! Lol I might as well get used to it because the work 13 hour shifts at a time and I am the only child ! My progress is coming along really well .. Just really hate all the gas ! I feel pressure in my abdomen, chest, and back ! I have had no nausea it vomiting just SEVERE GAS. Today , (might be tmi) but I have had really great bowel movements ! I feel better totallly ! I sip sip sip all day long !

I have no problem with liquids at all and I sm wondering the same thing . The gas for me right now is a BEAST !

I am officially 3 days post op ! 1st day wasn't too bad although walking made me nauseous. 2nd day was better and I walked like ALL THE TIME . Today is my first day home and I have taken my lortab 3 times ! I feel great but the left pain in my tummy hurts like crazy ! It goes away and then comes back to strong ! Thank you guys for all prayers and encouragement ! I'm not really hungry and have been eating ice chips since surgery! Again, thank you all do much.

I heard its common but my idea of this is ...slow and steady wins the race ! It sucks to know people around your dropping pounds like crazy but your body is just going through shock and doesn't quite know how to react! Hang in there ! Did you have a low starting weight (as in 260 -220) ? If so, this is very common . Are you in your teens, 20, or 30? Age is also a factor . Are you getting in Protein and Water like you are supposed to ? Are you exercising ? Are you following all the rules ? Let me know I'm only 3 days post op but I kinda have an idea of what is going on !!!

Are you losing inches hun ! It's only been a month and you are doing FABULOUS !

I woke up screaming and crying at 3 am in the morning because I had never felt a pain like that ! Every time I thought the pain was coming back, I called a nurse to get some pain meds !

This is my surgery date .... Ironically, I am 19 years old . July (7) + Year (12) = 19 . I am 119 minutes from the hospital EXACTLY. Eh, strange?
