  1. I have not talked to my surgeon yet and I could not have stretched it as this has been going on since right after my surgery. Plus my GI doc said everything looked normal just really really small pouch.
  2. That is really up to your doctor and your body. I went back to playing soccer 8 weeks after surgery. It was a little early, but it felt so good to play again!
  3. I have taken away dairy in my diet, but no change. I also tried fiber pills and no change. What was working for a little while was taking my b12 sublingual. As long as I took that I was regular, but that does not work any more. GI doc gave me meds that are helping, but I really want to get off meds if I can.
  4. I am 13 months post op and have had diarrhea since my surgery. Today I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy to check out what is going on. My doc said the following: 1. My pouch is really really small. 2. It does not really resemble a pouch it is closer to a tube - it goes from my esophagus pouch right to my small intestine. 3. He believes since it is so small that as soon as I eat my food is going straight to the small intestine without being absorb properly. 4 as a result of that he believes I am constantly dumping. Now this was a GI doc and not my surgeon. I have not talked with my surgeon yet. His diagnosis seems right to me. I don't have a feeling of fullness for very long, and seem to be hungry quickly sometimes. I'm not sure what foods I really need to avoid as I did not have to go through food classes prior to surgery. Please help!
  5. I am in Dallas and a barker patient. I am 13 months post op and so glad I went with dr barker. He is amazing and so is dr Thompson and the guys at max muscle. Good luck!!!
  6. I am 13 months post op and a Barker patient. I feel so great full that i choose him to do my surgery. Dr Thompson is amazing and the guys at max muscle have been so helpful. Glad to hear that he has the long term success rate.
  7. I am wondering if anyone has had a colonoscopy since rny. I have one on Thursday and have the bowl prep tomorrow. I have a lot of liquid to drink in a few hours and worried about getting it all down. Docs office said do the best I can.
  8. My mom was supportive, but would ask questions to make me think hard about my decision. She finally asked why now. I had been thinking about it for years and she wanted to know why had I decided I was ready for it. It was a simple answer. I was ready because I could no longer clean personal areas in the shower. That was my breaking point. From then on she stopped asking questions. As for telling other people - I have been open and honest about my surgery. I wanted to spread the good news - I made a choice to live not die miserable. However it is a very personal choice - tell or don't tell.
  9. From what I understand as we loose weight our fat cells release hormones. More hormones cause us to be a lot more fertile!!
  10. I am 13 months post op I lost 117.
  11. Congrats and good luck on the upcoming surgery!! As for your question I would really ask you doc or nut. You will soon figure out that all docs have different plans and restrictions. For my liquid diet I drank lactose free milk with carnation instant breakfast.
  12. Here are my suggestions You could also get a wii fit board. They have games that give you a good workout. Or try yoga. It will give you a good stretch and help you get your muscles loose. There is also something called gentle yoga or chair yoga. I have been to a few of those classes and it is great. Water aerobics is also a good workout and gentle on your joints.
  13. Just keep in mind that our ovaries and hormones are on hyper active mode. As you loose the weight the hormones are released. That is why so many ladies become pregnant after surgery. Don't rule out your ovaries.
  14. Let me put it this way - you will regret it and your body will be so mad at you. I ate eggs to early and 13 months later I am just now able to really eat then now. The few minutes of joy will be hours of agony.
  15. My doc said the same thing. Your body will find its natural weight spot.
  16. Yeah I am 13 months and tend to hover around 140-150.
  17. Well there are a lot actually. First of all we loose a lot of muscle mass during this process. It can be hard for us to tone muscle while losing this mass. The typical muscle building workout will not always work as well. It is also hard for us to put the muscle back on. In order to do that correctly you need lots of Protein. While we are focused on our protein most of us have a hard time hitting our protein goals when first starting out. Secondly nutrition is different. Most trainers want to sell their diet and supplements. If you are not careful you could buy items that will do nothing for you. Thirdly many people are just getting started and this is their first time to workout or go into a gym and it can be very intimidating to ask for help. Just think if someone knew exactly what you are going through how much it would help on your journey.
  18. Uti could cause the pain, but so could female pain. Could it be that time of the month for you. As you have lost weight your fat cells released hormones and that could make your female time a little more intense. Call and talk to your doc tomorrow.
  19. I have had issues with diarrhea since my surgery. I am going for a colonoscopy and endoscopy on Thursday. I am 13 months post op.
  20. Isn't it a great feeling!!! I love my new life to. Everyday I am lucky to be alive! I am working towards life dreams and making them come true. Tonight as I was working I drove past the hospital that did my surgery. I remembered what it was like those first few days, weeks and months. The feeling of regret for doing this to my body. I sit here today loving every minute of it. I even got a high five from a handsome guy who noticed my weight loss today.
  21. Yep it is normal. Call your doc on Monday and get help with meds. It will only get worse not better. I waited and when I finally went to my doc I cried for ten min in his office. He gave me phenergen, scapolimen patch and reglan. I hate to say this, but it might get a lot worse before it is better and you will get tired of people saying it will get better.
