    Excess GAS anyone?

It is a deodorant for your intestines. Trust me this stuff is WONDERFUL. My husband does not let me run out ever! They make chewable and the capsule form. I don't care for the taste of chewable ones.

    Excess GAS anyone?

If you are worried about the odor there is something called Devrom that will take care of that. You can get it off the internet.

    Exercise for disabled?

Just go to the MS society website and they will give you locations in the San Antonio area. From what I can see there are several to choose from.

    Exercise for disabled?

Well my best suggestion is gentle yoga. It is designed for people with disabilities. I live in Dallas Texas and they have a yoga studio that will allow you to go to classes free for gentle yoga. The MS society pays for the classes. You do most of the movement from a chair and anything you can't do they will modify for you. Finally there is always water aerobics. It will increase you strength and stamina. At this point I would hold off on weights until you talk to a doctor. Last thing you want to do is more damage. Good luck

    Stomach pain?

First I would say call your doctor. There could be so many reasons this is happening. My first thought was low blood sugar or low blood pressure. Make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day. Dehydration can cause low BP. Ai tend to eat something ever couple of hours as well, so find quick snacks that you can have at this stage. Talk with your NUT and make sure you follow their plan.

What time of day do you exercise and why ?

I found that I do better in the am. I seemed to be able "talk" myself out of going all day long. If I just got up and did it I always felt better

    No support from Spouse

Time to have a good long talk with hubby. Communication is key. He maybe having fears that he is having trouble expressing. I found with my hubby that he was really scared about me having this surgery. He actually did not sleep the night before and threw up that morning due to nerves. Please sit down with him and talk about your feelings and be ready to really talk about his feelings.

    In process of gastric bypass

It is 100% normal to feel nervous. Can complications happen - yes, but there is no way to predict it. If you trust your surgeon and medical team then try not to worry too much. This surgery works and you can have the life you have been dreaming of. I thought about having the surgery for years as well, and then I had my breaking point. I was done with being overweight. It came to me in the shower when I could no longer wash personal areas on my own. I had a good cry and when I stepped out of the shower I knew surgery was the only option for me. All my nerves and apprehension were gone. You will have moments where you doubt your decision, but trust me this surgery works and if you follow your doctors advice you can have everything you want. All dreams are possible. I would suggest you start making a list of what you want to accomplish. Focus on those goals and not the silly number on the scale. Good luck and remember we are all here for you!

    I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Sorry you are going through this! If it helps you are not alone. I use egg whites for protein. They are specifically made to eat raw. I just add them in to whatever I am drinking. You can not taste them in my opinion. Make sure you are getting plenty of water during this time. Last thing you want to do is get dehydrated.

    Gatorade

I take my powerade and add egg whites to it to give it some protein. It does not change the taste and I able to make my protein goals

    Stall and side pain

As for the stall it is 100% normal. Your body just has to catch up a little. As for the pain - call your doctor. Any pain that concerns you warrants a call to the doctor.
  14. My goal was always single digits. I know wear a 0/2. I look at myself and don't see a size 2 or XS, but everything else is too big. So strange to come from a size 24.
  15. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I receive medication once a month iv. Due to my heavy weight I had to get a medical port implanted so that they could get iv access. For 3 years I have had to choose clothing that would hide the port. Embarrassed how it looked and stuck out. I had rny to help my RA and reduce my need for medication. While I still receive the medication iv they are now able to get access with no problems, and today I had my port removed. Now I can wear the cute dresses and shirts with no thought about how my port will look, or if the clothes hide my port. As I have lost my weight the port stuck out more and more and you could actually see and move the device. Just another step to a healthier me!

    who is your surgeon?
  19. This can be a touchy issue. I say that because our brains can make more of things than are actually there. I recently got a new job and posted on here that I wondered if my skinniness had something to do with it. Would I have gotten the job if I was still big. One of my friends DLCloggin posted and reminded me it really does not matter at the end of the day, and that thinking of it like that was a waste of time. He was right! You make so many transformations during this process - your inner and outer self is questioned. I now love seeing someone who has not seen me in a while and the comments they make. I am proud of my decision to have this surgery. I looked at my life and realized there needed to be a change. It was not the easy way out, in fact it was harder than dieting ever could be. To tell or not to tell is a very personal decision, and keep in mind it may change as the years go by.
  20. Also remember to take your vitamins, and get in enough protein and water. Your body will figure out the rest. Typically people dip down low and then bounce back a little. I have stayed in the same 10 pound range for almost a year. People keep asking if I am still losing weight, but I think it is just my body reshaping itself.
  21. It is a right of passage I think with this surgery. A week post op I wanted eggs. Oh my goodness did I want eggs. I figured hey I got this down no worries. I feel great! It took me almost a year to eggs again. Two bites of them and I was throwing up for about 10 minutes. You would think I would have learned my lesson from that, but a week later I thought hey I want some ham. Again two bites and I was throwing up. Thankfully I did not do any damage! However I learned a lot about myself and my new stomach. It was the boss now not my brain!

    Anyone with migraines

I too can get migraines from not eating. I have not seen a change really in my migraines since my rny. However I make sure to snack on something in between meals to make sure my stomach never gets too empty. I tend to get a little nauseous if I wait too long to eat.
  23. I had diarrhea issues for about the first year. Only had 3 instances where I did not make it in time to a bathroom and 2 of those I was asleep. I went to a GI doc and he said everything was normal and have me some meds to help control things when I have issues. I take that med maybe 3-4 times a month. It just slows everything down for me. As for gas - well I have had lots of gas since surgery. I have discovered a wonderful pill called Devrom that helps with the smell. I don't know that I would still be married if it was not for this wonderful little pill.

    5 days post op

Congrats on your new journey!! You taste buds change after surgery. At this point focus on fluids. Last thing you want is to get dehydrated.
