  1. Clair & Meggie you are in my thoughts & prayers! You should be out of surgery & on the road to recovery. Blessings to both of you!
  2. I'm Oct 9th too! Welcome Malvord!
  3. Welcome Anewre! I know it's nerve-wrecking but just stay focused & you CAN do this! I'm on day 6 of my diet & honestly it's been a struggle missing regular food. Just have to keep our eyes on the prize. Again, welcome to the October thread!
  4. If anyone has Facebook & would like to add me, I welcome it!! http://www.facebook.com/sharoncarrie
  5. Come on OCTOBER ....We have people lined up & ready to go!! Everyone try to keep this thread updated with how your surgery went, details on what to expect, etc. I know everyone has to be just as eager as I am to know how everyone does! WoooHooo!!
  6. I completely empathize with you! I have posted a similar thread on here regarding not being able to eat. This is miserable but we have to tell ourselves it won't be this way forever. Im trying to stay super focused. I pray you are as well! We CAN do this!
  7. No, I havent tried the punch type proteins. Just a few different types of whey & soy protein powders. I just keep telling myself that this isnt going to be forever.
  8. Hello all... I'm on day 5 of the clear liquid diet (14 days total). I can NOT stomach one more protein shake. I just can't do it. I broke down & ate a piece of chicken breast just to have some substance. I have tried several protein powders & just cannot stand any of them. And the surgeon's requirements is 4 to 5 shakes a day. No way. Is it imperative that the diet be ONLY liquids or it is that the diet needs to be high in protein? I would be happy with some greek yogart or cottage cheese ...anything but these shakes. I can only have protein shakes, clear broth, SF jello & SF popsiciles. I hope some of you can lend some advice. I have emailed my NUT but she hasn't returned my email. Any suggestions are most appreciated.
  9. If you have a CVS Pharmacy in your area they have the adult liquid tylenol in their store brand.
  10. I'm scared to death of the "dumping syndrome". It sounds terrible so you are definitely not alone!
  11. Hello all! Well today starts my pre-op diet. 2 weeks of liquids. Woke up this morning & choked down a chocolate shake. Ewww... haven't gotten use to the texture yet. I'm staying focused because surgery is just 2 weeks away!! Yay
  12. Praying you had a successful surgery & a speedy recovery!
  13. Don't lose hope! Things will fall into place just KEEP CALLING! Dont worry about getting on anyone's nerves. Make those phone calls until this is resolved.
  14. My surgery date got moved up by a week! It's now on October 9th! Yay
  15. Thank you ALL! I love the emotional support this site brings. Everyone is so encouraging & awesome!
  16. Thank you ladies... I appreciate your kind words. I know I'm staying focused on my surgery for myself because I do deserve this. I've worked so hard to get to this point. I hate the way Im feeling emotionally right now but time heals all wounds. Have to stay as positive as I can.
  17. Hello everyone, thanks for reading my post. I'm having gastric bypass in 3 weeks (Oct 15th) however my fiance' & I broke our relationship off. It has been taking an emotional toll on me to say the least. I am trying to prepare to undergo a life changing surgery with recovery that demands my full attention. He was a big support system for me. I do have my mom & kids supporting me so Im not alone. My heart is broken & my anxiety level has gone through the roof (as if it wasnt high enough). I'm trying so hard to stay focused it's just difficult when facing this loss. Sorry to ramble, just needed to vent & I know you are amazing listeners.
  18. Well I had my pre-op appointment today & also pre-registeration at the hospital. I had labs, ekg, answered a zillion questions ..asked a ton too! I start my liquid diet on the 1st & then surgery follows on the 15th. Very anxious, excited, overwhelmed... you name it & I've probably felt it! lol I love reading everyone's post here in the October thread because we are going through pretty much the same things.
  19. That's what they told me too ...that losing hair is due to not taking the vitamins & getting enough protein in. However, if the shampoo works I'm all for it!
  20. Congrats!! It will be here before you know it. Mine is on October 15th so I'm right behind you!
  21. Congrats!! Thats my birthday so cheers! lol
