  1. Ok, how do you add pics?
  2. I sure hope you get to feeling better. What issues did you have prior to surgery that are affecting you now?
  3. I'm pretty sure what you read for bcbsnc is what you need. You can always call information. They should be able to answer it for you. Good luck. And let me know what happens....
  4. Go to bcbsnc.com and do a search for gastric bypass. It will tell you exactly what you need to do as far as pre-requisitions. Hope that helps. Good luck...
  5. All my info is in my profile..
  6. Oh, Thank you!!
  7. I'm worried about that too. My biggest concerns are my upper arms and my thighs. I hope and pray it won't be an enormous amount of hanging skin.
  8. I see a lot of people say take gas-x to the hospital with you. My question is why? Don't they want you to get rid of the gas. And that's what the walking helps you do. Beside getting your cirrculation going. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Hmm. I wish I had some answers for you. Have you always had problems with your mother-in-law? And how does your husband feel about the situation? Sounds like she has some real issues if she drinks all the time.. Maybe you can tell her if she goes to AA that would be the easy way out for her. Since she can't stop drinking on her own. Just a thought.
  10. What it will be like to be thin. I have been heavy my whole life. Or as far back as I can remember. I keep thinking how in the world will all this weight just dissapear. I see the before and after pics of other people who have lost weight. But I don't see that for myself. I try to imagine it. I certainly know that I will have skin left when all is said and done. How does every one else feel about this?
  11. 1. Knowing what it feels like to be thin. (Never have been) 2. Crossing my legs! (Never been able to do that) 3. Playing more with my kids. 4. Being able to ride amusement park rides. 5. Not having the seatbelt lock on me every time I bend over in the car. 6. Climbing stairs without breathing so hard. 7. Buying cute clothes. 8. Being more self-confident. 9. Not being "the heaviest friend" 10. Dancing.
  12. I'm also unemployed at the moment. Have been for over a year. I'm a stay at home mom of a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old. It's very trying at times. But worth it. I have been on numerous interviews and have yet to get a job. But, I believe now it is a sign that I should have surgery. I don't have to take time off of work. YEAH!! My husband makes pretty decent money and works a full tme job and a part time job. He's is definetly my back bone.
  13. Never heard of them...
  14. Cool!! I chose to have mine done in Mobile. Both bariatric Dr.'s here want money up front that doesn't go towards your Ins. Mobile Dr.'s don't do that. Dr. Lord wanted almost 800 in administratvie fees before surgery and Dr. Friedman wanted almost 300. I'm real happy about my decision in going to Mobile. My surgery will be in August. Less than 2 months from start to finish. When do you plan on coming back here?
  15. LOL!! I'm not sure what to write, but that's a great question. I hope someone can answer that..
  16. It takes about an hour to get there. I also got approved today!!! I'm so excited!! I take my Begin class on Wed and will get a date the following week. August will be my month.. My Ins is awesome (Anthem BC/BS). The Dr. office called the Ins today and gave her approval over the phone. And she called me right away...I can't control my excitement. Not to mention my husband finished his Criminal Justice degree today!!! :D :D
  17. I'm so excited! I was approved today for GB. What makes it even better is how fast my Ins is (Anthem BC/BS). They told the lady over the phone that I was approved and she called me right away!! My surgery will be in Aug. I have to take a begin class on Wed and then I will get my date..YEAH!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
  18. I'm just curious how many of you have had to pay an adminstrative fee? None of the money goes toward your Ins. Strictly out of pocket. Usually paid to the Dr office prior to seeing the surgeon. I didn't have to and that's why I'm going to Mobile and not doing it here in Pensacola.
  19. Wow, that's one of the biggest reasons I'm going to Mobile. They don't charge an administrative fee. I personally think that is so wrong in so many ways..I feel as if people are already paying so much.
  20. Does that go toward your Ins or not? I'm just curious because I know Dr. Lord charges almost 800 in administrative fees. That is strictly out of pocket. That's a bit excessive..
