Smoking
Lol a few days ago. I know you're not supposed to drink for a year but my nutritionist said that's mostly due to them not wanting us to get dehydrated, I would have waited except my 21st bday is on the 6th and I wanted to make sure I could drink before I tried in front of my friends - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

Binging
The reason I gained so much weight is vastly due to how much I would eat in one sitting. I had a bottomless pit of a stomach and would eat until it was physically painful. Now that I'm almost 2 months post op and have been cleared to eat whatever (other than starches/carbs/sugar of course) I'm starting to have those "eat until you're full" tendencies again. When I eat I don't really want to stop. Granted to get me 'full' I only can eat 4oz of food now but regardless of how little it takes me to get full recently it doesn't change the fact that I'm still doing to same bad habit. I have trouble eating slowly now, most of the time I can't take 30 minutes to eat my food whether it be because I literally don't have the time to eat that slow or I hate it (have always been a fast eater) I just want to keep eating and don't know how to not care so much. I don't want to stretch out my pouch but am never happy/satisfied until I'm stuffed - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

Which To Have
I originally wanted the sleeve (because you only need a small portion of the medication and supplements and I felt it was less unnatural) but my insurance wouldn't cover it. I'm happy that I got the bypass though, because it has a much higher success rate and I needed the most drastic surgery to be successful - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

What Now
Only you can know what's best for you and your health. When I asked my dad (who os also morbidly obese) why he didn't consider getting the surgery too since it's obviously covered under our insurance he said "because I know if I get my fat ass on a treadmill that i'll lose the weight instead of taking the pussy way out" So yeah. Family aren't always the best support system. But look who's a lot healthier and happier now versus my dad who still morbidly obese, a smoker, has high blood pressure and is borderline diabetic. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

Smoking
Lol finally someone who asks the same questions as me. I'm almost 2 months post op and have been smoking on the daily since my infection healed (about a month ago) so far I have not had any problems but want to buy a vaporizer to help prevent ulcers. I tried drinking and needed 5 shots to get drunk! Drinking has been very odd for me post op - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12

- Coffe And Tea
Ps - I also never drink decaf. My nutritionist said the reason they didn't want me drinking caffeine in the beginning is because they didn't want any foreign stimulant in my body immediately post op. I've been cleared to drink all the caffeine I want since about 2 weeks post op - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Coffe And Tea
Lol I work at Starbucks. I can stomach coffee/espresso/tea just fine. Only problem is I prefer my americano with half/half and I really have a hard time stomaching milk... so a grande coffee with cream/equal takes me all day to drink. What sucks even worse is I LOVE soy milk but am allergic so I'm shit out of luck no matter what I do. Trying to learn to drink it black - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Gastric Bypass Surgery Progress Pictures
So I have to ask what made your first rny fail? The thought of that terrifies me - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- This Is Me.
Wow, that's pretty deep. Very inspirational. I wish you nothing but success. You should be so proud that you were able to get out if that hole to do something so positive - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Alcohol
Soooo speaking of alcohol, I have a few concerns. I was told that I could have a 1/2 shot on my birthday (my 21st bday is aug 6) and that I would get super drunk from it. I tried drinking prior to that (a few days ago) to make sure my body could handle it and that I wouldn't barf on all of my friends. How many shots of 70 proof rum did it take for me to actually get drunk? 5 shots. I took 1 at a time to see what would happen and spread that out 20 mins apart. Every shot (until the 5th) got me kinda sorta tipsy for 5 minutes then I was stone cold sober again. Why didn't I get drunk off a 1/2 a shot like I was told? My alcohol tolerance has not changed AT ALL post op. Rather concerned. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Calorie Itake?
Damn so your life basically surrounds around the gym. How's the loose skin situation? I'll be 21 in a week and am hoping that my age will help to prevent too much loose skin. (Pre-op weight 263) - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Gastric Bypass Surgery Progress Pictures

I had to stay an extra day because my heart beat was elevated when they took my vitals. The rest of the day: perfect heart rate. Why? Because having my vitals taken makes me anxious. I explained this but no go, I was so upset at the time lol - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- New Drink
Pretty sure that shit is crazy high in carbs and sugar yo - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Spaghetti And Meatballs
Well to be completely honest I didn't really measure anything, just added what looked like a good amount. But uh... Entire package of miracle noodles Prob around 12oz of sauce Maybe 4oz of parmesan Handful of mushrooms chopped up Handful of canned green Beans chopped up 3 meatballs chopped up 1 tbsp of garlic powder - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Woohoo Offiially Post Op!
Want to know what liquid I live on? Trenta (30oz) iced passion tea with 3 equal (my personal favorite artificial sweetener) and no Water from Starbucks. It's one of their cheapest items since it's tea and well... it's tea so it's not bad for you! It's so delicious and makes getting in a big chunk of my daily liquid in so much easier. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Spaghetti And Meatballs
I swear it tastes way better than it looks lol. It's delicious. You probably can't see the noodles because they're kind of transparent/white and are covered with parmesan. (aka more Protein :]) - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Spaghetti And Meatballs
I used "miracle noodles" which have the same nutrition facts as Water (I swear it tastes and has the exact same texture as real noodles, really is a miracle) with tomato sauce (9 carbs and 5g of sugar and 2g of Protein for a 1/2 cup) and parmesan cheese and mushrooms and green Beans and meatballs and I am in shock how it tastes exactly like spaghetti and meatballs I had pre-op. The amount it came out to be will feed me for a week and it has so much protein-y goodness because of the meatballs (I put in a lot.) So happy!!! Omg these posts are making me nauseous I don't want to lose my hair. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12- Taste Buds
I've heard of your tastes changing post-op I've heard of people stomach's being able to tolerate some food some days and other not Has anyone experienced your taste buds enjoying certain foods sometimes and other times not? It's happening to me. A few days ago I tried some kale chips and thought they were gross, today they taste great. Awhile ago I was eating brie and my eyes were rolling to the back of my head because it was so delicious, 2 days later I ate it and it tasted like a dirty diaper. - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12 - Weird Pre-Surgery Jitters
