  1. Can someone tell me if turkey or beef jergy is bad for us while trying to lose weight?

My surgeon actually highly suggests it. I don't even do turkey Jerky, I do beef. The sodium is really high though

  2. You'll need:

    - 2 cups ricotta cheese

    - 4 large eggs

    - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    - 6 teaspoons Splenda brown sugar (or to taste)

    - cupcake papers

    Baking instructions:

~ Set oven to 400 degrees

~ Mix all ingredients together until it resembles pancake batter

~ spray cupcake papers with Pam

~ In a cupcake pan, fill 12 cupcake papers to the top

    ~ bake for 35 minutes

    YOU'RE WELCOME. Trust me.

Ps - the bottoms will be moist - it's unavoidable but still delicious.

  3. Though we often get negative reaction about the route we chose to take towards a healthy long life...more often than not we forget about the positive impacts our life choices can make on others.

My story is about my grandfather, a 71 year old man with an ABUNDANCE of health problems stemming from major injuries while in the Air Force accompanied by a number of co-morbidities like sleep apnea and joint pain just to name a few - who has decided to go full force to achieve gastric bypass surgery because he is so impressed with my success 8 months out.

This blew my mind! I am SO happy for him and enthusiastic about helping him through every step of getting and being successful with his new life and body. I am also in awe of his bravery. Just goes to show that you're never too old or sick to change your life and health forever!

I will most likely be posting his story if anyone is interested. I'm just SO SO proud!

Currently he is waiting to get his psych eval, a gal bladder ultra sound and more meetings with his nutritionist. Seems like only yesterday I was doing the same things.

  4. Wow your looking great! I am 21 and 5'7 and I am almost a month out and I feel like I am already at a stall so what kind of exercises did you do?

I just go to classes at the gym when I can, Ultima fitness for me. So I do yoga and cardio and muscle training classes. Way more fun

  5. You look so great! What was your starting weight and height? I'd love to see side by side before and afters.

Thank you!!! I am 21 at 5'8" and my highest was 276 and my surgery weight was 263. I'm hovering between 150-160 right now. Would still like to lose another 20lbs because of flab but am happy just being in my "average weight" bracket.

    My before pictures:

  6. Remember before surgery - when someone would snap a picture of you and when you saw it you'd think "oh my god am I really THAT big? It can't be." ? How you always looked bigger is photos than you thought you did in real life? [which we all know now unfortunately was not the case]

Well the same thing happens to me now but the opposite. I'm constantly thinking I need to lose more and I'm still a pudge but sometimes people or even I will take photos of me and I don't recognize the girl on the photo. As per example, I NEVER thought my arms were thin and would ya look at this picture I took yesterday:

Finally starting to love myself and the results of this surgery! 8 months out and will never turn back :D

  7. Hi all I am 1 week post op. had my surgery February 11th. I started full liquids today which includes Protein supplements. I just tried nectar Roadside Lemonade and I nearly gaged from the taste. What Protein drinks don't have that funny protein taste. Is it better I go for one that is already made or should I mix one my self. Please help.

I love the brand biotech. The chocolate is great with some Peanut Butter and the vanilla mixed in great!
