  1. Has any one gone to or heard Dr Cavazos in San Antonio. Any feed back would be great thanks.
  2. Mindy, I did get your email. Thanks I am not sure if I know how to email you back with out going through the board. I am not very computer savy. I am right outside of Austin, actually half way between Austin and Bastrop. I am planning to be banded in October if everything goes well. I am gearing up for it trying to make sure that I am as prepared as I can be. I have about a billion questions but cant always think of them when I am on here. I have started writing them down so I can ask as I go.

Has anyone heard of Dr. Cavazos at N.E. Baptist Bariatric. I have not found anyone who knows of him and am coming from Austin to have my surgery. Luckily I have family in San Antoino.

    first fill-banded 6 weeks ago

I am going to be banded in San Antonio in a couple of months. My Dr is Cavazos at N.E. Baptist wondering if you have ever heard of him.
  5. Hi, I am not banded yet, but constantly thinking about how I am going to make it through the liquid and mushie phase afterwards. One of my favorite recipes is a Soup with cauliflower it is wonderful and I believe definetly doable. You bake your cauliflower with onions and garlic and olive oil. Then you boil it in chicken broth you will probably do that a little longer with the band because you want it real soft. You put the veggies and broth(cooled alittle) in the blender and blend it till it is smooth. The original recipe calls for heavy cream but I am thinking the low carb milk or maybe skim milk. I have not started looking into powders and stuff to add protien if you know of any please let me know. Thanks and hope you enjoy Emilie
  6. I am planning to be banded in Oct. Since I have decided to do this(June 10th) I have lost about 15lbs. I know when I have the surgery that I will probably loose more and between now and then also. My question is has anyone ever waited a very long time for a fill because they were loosing ok with out one? How long can the band stay in with out having to be filled? Also once every thing is healed and before a fill how much restriction is there? Ps Going for my upper GI today, one step closer.

    coffee

I read somewhere that I would have to give up caffeine all together. Thank ya'll so much I was just about ready to give it up forever, but now I will continue to enjoy my coffee in the morning.
  8. My insurance does not require a psyc evaluation, but the Doctor does. So I have to go and get my own. I was wondering how long they take hours, days exct... does any one ever get turned down? Any one have a Dr. they saw in the Austin,tx area they can recommend? Thanks for any input.
  9. This fourm is great. I feel like it is better than a support group would be because I can ask what ever and get lots of input. I am waiting on insurance approval, but should come with in a few weeks and then my surgery will be in Oct. I am sure that I will have lot's of questions between now and then. Like did I really read no caffeine? Is that forever and why?
  10. I had my first appt. with my lap band Dr. yesterday. I have more questions than I did before. I have great insurance and don't have to do the medial supervised diets. So I am kind of on the fast track I think. I should be having my surgry in October. My doctor is Cavazos in San Antonio, Tx. I am really intrested to know what the recovery is like and any other useful information you can tell me. Thanks
  11. I am wondering how my recovery might be. I have three c-sections and one tube removed. All of these surgerys were real easy to recover from and was wondering how recovery was for any other c-section moms or other abdominal surgery patient?
