  1. My husband is from Soul City! We have friends all around there.
  2. I moved to purée after 2 weeks, but the last week was rough. Nothing would go down, and just kind of sat in my chest. I toughed it out until my 1 month appointment, and she said my opening below my stomach was probably too small. She gave me prednisone for 5 days, and although it's another nasty med that is hard to swallow, I could tell a difference that day. Was able to eat some spaghetti sauce with turkey, and will try fish again tonight. The other problem is, all my Protein Shakes are now intolerable, lol. Too sweet and yucky. I am doing some homemade smoothies now, frozen fruits and Silk Light with some Jay Robb egg Protein. Seems to be working. I was having trouble getting my protein since I couldn't down those shakes. Wish me luck.
  3. You'll be fine. You got this far into your decision and it wasn't a mistake.....you know that this is going to help you in the long run. It's definitely a journey, but it's going to be worth it.
  4. Charlotte here.....good to meet you!

  6. It lessened after about a week, thankfully. Never took any Benadryl, didn't feel like crushing them lol. It still itches on the surface, but it's scratch able!
  7. Doctor visit went well. I'm on puréed foods, and cleared for work tomorrow. I may end up doing half days, I've been tired all weekend, and having back pain from the stretching of my diaphragm. Doctor said to lie on my left side, and it helps some, but today was bad. But overall, I feel good, down to 211 from 231 the day of surgery.
  8. zOMIGOD the incisions itch SO BADLY! It's really messing with the nerves in my belly, has anyone had success with Benadryl?
  9. Came home today, and am doing well. The Lortab takes care of the soreness really quickly. Alot of gas, taking the chewable Gas-X for that. All good!
  10. Everythng went fine....had some jello and broth, and must have 2 med cups per hour of water. Drugs are good, mmkay?

  13. Two more days of work, and I'm in surgery on Thursday! Liquid diet going well, I've learned to manage it.
  14. Ice trays, to freeze portions of broth or soup. Gas-X, Milk of Magnesia, for the obvious problems. Plain protein powder is good in mashed potatoes, watered down.
  15. Mine is Thursday! Keep us posted!
  16. I had a hot dog the fourth day. Since then, I've been good. The liquids isn't the problem, it's the 1000 calorie limit. I have since learned to manage it, and I don't often find myself hungry. Just gotta space it out.
  17. Had some Saturday......didn't have any options where I was. It is greasy, but the calories aren't bad.
  18. Liquid is challenging........find soups that you like. Cream of mushroom, egg drop, Trader Joes has a nice instant miso soup that I love. Refried beans are the bomb....water them down with broth. Switch up the shakes and soups, so that you can get sweet and savory. I'm almost done, surgery on Thursday, and although I'm doing fine, I'd just like to have a nice sammich or something lol.
