    I Have A Problem...

My concern is that this sounds like a possible stricture. This has happened to a few people I know and your symptoms sound similar. This means that the opening to your stomach is basically closed or too small to allow your food to go down, which is why it feels stuck to you. It is a very common complication that has nothing to do with your eating habits etc. The only way to fix it is that endoscopy (normally 3 to 5 times) and then you will be back to normal and no need to throw up etc.. get it checked out... this is a serious issue that can become life threatening. Plus you are not purging this is a different thing altogether!!

    Ridiculous

Can you call them? I know I did and bugged them and I got my date, I think they get busy and we become less of a priority than those that are nagging them (in a nice way of course).

    Gaining Weight!

Are you getting in enough calories, Water, sleep and Vitamins?? Without enough calories your body will fight to keep you from losing and I have found I gain weight as well. The others also impact weight loss and weight gain. I tend to find that I gain and lose on a fairly regular basis, so do not worry too much, soon it will drop as long as you are doing all the things I listed including exercise often and enough Protein. You do not want your body going into starvation mode, that is not a good thing and makes things harder for you. At 2 weeks though calories is so much not a big issue, how about water intake? yes and your period can impact your weight, as well as your body is still recovering from surgery and will be fighting everything for a bit. Do not worry it will come off... look forward to a lot of this up and down thing, I have just come to accept it as part of the journey and try not to let it drive me crazy. Good luck
  4. I just made it to a 75 pound loss and its exciting! I still can't absorb that I've done it but the scale and clothes prove it! I'm 4 1/2 months out today - how amazing and almost unbelievable

    How Much Weight Loss

Sorry I have always exercised, so I can not help you there. I started with walking the day of surgery (increased in length overtime and on the treadmill etc to higher intensity) and moved to the bike by 1 month (when cleared for it) then after the next month I added in the ellipitical and weights. I have lost 72 pounds at 4 months. 44 more pounds to go. Good luck!

    Carbs

I keep it below 50, (almost all my carbs come from fruit and veg, I rarely eat any bread or potato) but keep in mind it depends on the amount of calories and exercise you are doing. I think the best way would be to figure out the percentage of your total intake that should be carbs, sugars and protein. I am not sure what that should be, but it makes more sense then a random number that does not take into consideration the amount of calories etc that you are intaking.

    Vitamin Routine?

I take my multi Vitamin and chewable Iron together in the morning. then at lunch or in the evening (depends if I forget at lunch) I take my calcium citrate, b12 sublingual, hair, skln and nails vitamin and magnesium. Dr only requires the B12, multi vitamin and the calicium, I added the rest. I was told to take the iron and calcium at seperate time. I take my iron in the morning because I normally have fruit in my Protein shake and if I am correct taking iron with a Vitamin C or something like broccoli helps with the absorption of the iron. (at least that is what they told me when my kids were taking iron)

1 Mth In 50 Lbs Down

Congrats! What a great beginning... it does get better. I think the first couple of months are the hardest in terms of adjusting and complications. After that you get to enjoy the ride, including all the up and downs and stalls.

    Wow!

Congrats! Must feel wonderful! Great job

    So Disappointed :-/

I am back on the up and down stall. It has happened a few times for me already. I go up and down the same 3 to 4 pounds without going lower than my previous lower weight. yes it is frustrating and I am doing nothing different and even increasing exervise etc when this happens, but it still stays in a stall. once it was 3 weeks (was in my second month post op) another time a week. this time it has been almost 2 weeks. It seems to happen about once a month, not related to menstual cycle either. Just be patient and stay on track and eventually it will start coming off again. You are too early in the process for you not to continue to lose weight. Do not stress over it or get too depressed. It is not the fun part of the process but it will be over soon.
  14. I didn't have to take a test- do it varies from psych to psych. Just be honest and you will be fine
  15. I am experiencing the same thing! I am 4 months out and was enjoying the exercising (shocking) and I had all this energy and was just ready to meet the world everyday. But starting a week or so ago all of a sudden I am always tired and when I hurt it feels like I have to push myself to move the pedal or the legs on the ellipitical. It is not painful but like I have no energy to push, almost like when I started exercising. I have to convince myself to complete the amount of minutes I planned on doing and I struggle to complete them without quitting. I HATE THIS! I loved having energy and enjoying exercising, and this totally sucks! I added iron to my vitamin regime, but after a week I do not see a difference yet. I am just not sure what to do since it is so hard to keep going this exhausted that I fall asleep at work if I am not careful. P.S. I go to sleep at 10 pm and get up at 5:00 am.

    In The Hospital Again!

How scary. I am glad that you got help fast and you are now on the way to recovery. I wonder what causes some to get ulcers and not others. This whole journey is such a learning experience.

Completely Off Topic But I Had To Share

I would love to not fart. My biggest fear is that in the middle of my group with the sex offenders I work with is that I move or something and end up farting so they actually hear it!! It really is funny, the geese in our household are very numerous and loud these days! Honk Honk

    First Official Weigh In

Wow! You are doing awesome and getting to do this with the one you love, how awesome is that! congrats on the weight loss and getting below that first milestone, the first of many!
  25. At that point I would wait a couple days for he water weight to go away and then I weighed myself daily since I was dropping pounds daily so it was motivating to deal with no real food etc. At some point though you might go to once a week weigh-ins, which I never did since I am addicted to weighing myself twice a day. But I am Ellie and am I am a weigh-in addict...Just saying!!
