    Digestive Problems

I haven't dumped but had similar stomach issues to what youre describing. For me it happened whenever I had a protein shake. I have dairy problems so I used a dairy free shake and still had it. It only lasted the first two weeks an for me it was only a couple of times. Definitely ask the doc at your next visit. But know you're not entirely alone.
  2. Army wife-my surgeon doesn't require a pre-op diet whatsoever other than following the FDA's food plate (the healthy way to eat). He doesn't need to shrink the liver. He's just that awesome! It must be torture for you guys to have to deplete yourselves two weeks prior. I would think that would make you very weak for surgery. But I would follow the instructions you are given. Compliance is difficult but it's also successful. Best wishes!
  3. The best thing to do is probably follow your surgeon's instructions. My surgeon didn't require a two week pre-op liquid diet of any kind. I survived

    Tips For The New Girl

Congrats on the approval! I was out of work less than two weeks (I have an office job). I felt normal after surgery, just a little weaker than normal. I'm four weeks out and just played a softball double header. Everyone is obviously different but just wanted to share my story. Not too shabby! 32lbs lost in the first month

    Scared

Check out these books: Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies and Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster: A Guide Of Mind-Body Techniques. Both of these helped immensely. I haven't had a single issue-knock on wood. Best wishes!

My surgeon said only walking the first four weeks but they are all different. Just check before you try it out once you've had the surgery. Have fun with it! It's killer!!

    I've Decided On The Rny

Congrats on your decision!! You (and me) are doing this for YOU and no one else-just remember that. I found a great book to help with every aspect of the process: Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies. It even touches on the emotions we go thru. It's a fast read and,, it's a resource to have forever. I think it was 20 bucks at Barnes and Noble. Best wishes on your journey!!

    Help!

I'm at about the same spot as you and also plateaued. I'm looking at it as a good thing that I'm losing slower. Best wishes!
  12. Keep your chin up! We can alter our lives with positive thinking and affirmations. I may sound cheesy but I believe it works and I think it has for me. I'd be happy to be a buddy if you need one. - Christine

    Puree Food

Tuna has been a life saver for me as well. I have a half cup mixed with fat free mayo. I haven't had any trouble with canned chicken. I make it the same way. The purée phase much more interesting than the liquid phase. I haven't deviated from the surgeons list of foods. Puréed fish and meat didnt sound appetizing to me either so I stick to the canned tuna and chicken and also cottage cheese a lot. Best wishes!
