  1. But as soon as I get to lovin one TH's teas they deem it seasonal and take it away from me:( They took my diet chai (that addiction was hard to get over) and then the diet blueberry tea (though my son says that one is back)! I'll have to stop and check before I go to work Friday as well as grabbing some Mio.
  2. I'll have to try some Mio. Any specific flavor suggestions? I never thought about diet snapple. I avoid the soda aisle where the snapple is at my grocery store and Walmart. And of course the gas station is way off limits cause those dirty, nasty, calling my name more and more frequently cigarettes are in there staring me down at the check out;)
  3. Thanks for the suggestion Jen. Not enough protein in Cheerios to make eating worthwhile:(
  4. I hate the taste bud change. I lived on crystal light packets at work. Drank probably a gallon or more of it in a 12 hour shift. Now they all taste bad to me except the citrus one. I dont like the taste of plain water. What to drink when I return to work??
  5. I am so glad I sent my son to get me another drink cause I almost peed myself laughing! I for sure would have spilled my drink all over my computer!!
  6. Yay!! I'm so happy for you!! I haven't gone shopping at all yet. I know my clothes are getting too big on me. I can see that. But I'm gonna wear them until they fall down when I pull them up:) I know I need at least 1 bathing suit cause it's too baggy in the chest. Not that my boobs shrunk I actually think it's my back. And I suppose my boss would appreciate if I bought new scrubs so my pants aren't falling off. We'll see;)
  7. I'm not sure if I can phrase this so anyone wil understand. Lol! But I'm going to try. I'm 5 weeks post op. For the most part my insides should be "healed." I understand my internal anatomy was reconfigured and my physical stomach is smaller. But can/does anyone else 5 weeks out or more "feel" like their insides are odd or different, feel raw, etc? Like I said it's hard for me to explain. It's not like something feels "wrong" just not like it used to all the time. And if you understand my ramblings did/does it ever go away?
  8. Starting with my weight on admission to the hospital I lost 30.5 pounds by 4 weeks. By 5 weeks it was 33.6 pounds.
  9. Starting with my weight on admission to the hospital I lost 30.5 pounds by 4 weeks. By 5 weeks it was 33.6 pounds.
  10. I know that each of our surgeons have different plans of attack and rules. I'm wondering what amounts of protein were each of you to target when eating a regular diet?
  11. Except I'm not their pt so it's not a HIPPA violation. And I wasn't really concerned with HIPPA as it may or may not apply to my issue but more so the fact that they did not ask if it was ok to tell our pts where I was. I thought that was rude and inconsiderate on their part.
  12. Amanda, I'm almost 5 weeks out and I still can't consume much. It's a struggle to get in my protein since all the shakes and supplements nauseate me. I just keep plugging away little by little;)
  13. I completely understand your frustration. The unit I work on is a gyn oncology and high risk pregnancy unit. I know strange combo;) As a result of the pts we care for many are repeat "offenders" with whom we develop close personal relationships. I told several of my pts that I was going for surgery and why. They will wonder and worry when they don't see me for 6 weeks. Some are in weekly for chemo. I did not see about 5 of them in the week preceding and now they've been asking. Some of the nurses told them where I was. I was a bit perturbed. Not my coworkers place to tell our pts. Esp not without okaying it with me first. Ever hear of a cell phone? How about a text saying hey so and so is asking where you've been what should I tell her? It just upsets me that they made my decision even though I would have told them myself.
  14. I think it's just cause now I'm feeling good and like myself. I was taking my son to his MMA class and normally I'd have a cigarette and a soda. Just seemed so unnatural not to have those things. Driving to work is gonna be a killer;) I guess I'll be crossing that bridge next week!
  15. Moving to Korea??? That's one post I was happy to do without. Ft. Benning- too hot but beautiful. Ft Drum- too cold but more like PA. I would have gone to almost any foreign post but there was no way I was going to Korea esp not with a one year old in tow;) Let us know what Its like!!
  16. I really, really want a diet cherry pepsi or a cigarette. This is the first time in a month I've craved anything.
  17. Belle, I'm not 1/2 PR and I'm shaped the same way! Lol!
  18. 4 weeks and 4 days. Apparently that's to be magic #! Last night my baby girl and I figured out a way for me to get in the pool without hurting myself. I just lounged in the water for about an hour and a half. It was so lovely. When I got out all my muscle pains were gone. No sharp pains in my abdomen. No intense soreness in my back. It was heaven. I was cautiously optimistic since I swam in a friends pool 2 weeks prior and though it took away the pain for that moment the pains returned within an hour or two. But I laid on my stomach/side last night. Oh sweet comfort! Sleeping on my back for a month was misery:) I didn't take any pain meds muscle relaxers. Downside to that is my body is so used to being knocked out that I think I slept 15 min of every hour and I'm exhausted this morning. I "got up" this morning and still no pain. I am sitting up straight, able to bend over and not calling for help to getty shorts on;) Could it Be? Could the pain finally be gone? My mind says try and drive today. But then I think don't push it:) But for now I'm just going to enjoy not hurting and hope it lasts!
  19. Turn the water on and just let it run. Sometimes your bladder just isn't ready. Don't stress! It will come when it's good and ready. If your urine output is still low it will take longer to build up some urine to put out. Don't try and force it. You'll stress your bladder and get negative results. This happens with my GYN/ONC pts all the time and these are the exact things I tell them;)
  20. I'm 4 weeks and 3 days out.
  21. Candi, I have the same issues. I use a heating pad. I cannot sit up straight cause it makes the pain too intense. I also have muscle relaxers and narcotics. Though I don't believe they do much. Docs keep telling me it's normal and I just need to give my body time to recover. It's significantly better than it used to be but it still hurts like crazy!
  22. Jen, You've been all over the place:)
  23. Good luck!! It's a journey well worth taking:) I don't think your mentioning your faith is an issue. Everyone is free to believe what that believe and if someone else doesn't want to read it they do not have to. I don't find your faith (or anyones) offensive and as long as one doesn't use their beliefs to bash another feel free!
  24. I think it went: intake appt, meet with dr weiger, meet with dr DiMarco, nutrition appt. At the end of the nutrition appt they gave me a choice of 3 dates. I also got my first post op appt scheduled at that time. But that may have been because DiMarco is only in the office on Monday. I think I may have met Dr Prashar when I was discharged.
  25. Nichole, Don't I know it:) I started my process Jan. 5. My I insurance doesn't require all the bs some do. At my initial consultation I was told I'd be having surgery by March 1st. Because of waiting for Dr DiMarco I didn't have it until June 7th;) Is Dr Prashar one of his partners?
