  1. Thanks for sharing your story. The decision is yours as to having a RNY, but I have improved my health and life by having the surgery in Aug 2011. I am at my goal of 195 after starting at 327. If you have any questions for me just ask. Good luck on your decision. Russ

  2. Hi my name is Summer and I just had my rny surgery on 01-11-12. I'm 26 years old and have been married for almost 9 years' date=' we have 3 children two of which are twins (boy/girl) they are almost 7 and our youngest is almost 5. I haven't always been overweight my whole life I started gaining weight once I took birth control and then with each one of my children added more pounds on. At my heaviest I was 250 and at my 1st initial visit with my surgeon I was at 247. I'm a week out and I'm now at 227. I look forward to meeting others who have had the surgery as well to share things with me as I'm on this journey to a new me![/quote']

Congrats Summer. Keep doing what the doc tells you regarding exercise and diet and you will be needing a whole new wardrobe soon.

  3. Hi. My name is Russ and I had my rny on August 8, 2011. I had been on an insulin pump for six years, had high triglycerides and cholesterol and high blood pressure. Immediately following surgery, my blood glucose returned to normal levels without any insulin or metformin. My lipids all are in the low normal range and my average BP is 115/70. My peak weight wad 327 pounds and 314 prior to surgery. I am as of 3/3/12 at 195 pounds and have gone from size 48 waist pants to currently size 36. I have to reintroduce myself to people I have known for many years. Thanks to Dr Siddiqui at Premier Metabolic and Bariatric Associates at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and the staff at his office and the hospital for the preparation and post op care provided to me.
