Woohoo!!!!! Congrats!!!! Sending positive thoughts for a smooth surgery and recovery!

I'm on day eleven and by far this is the worst pain I've ever felt! Even my Multivitamins are giving me gas I feel like walking doesn't help at all. Gas x strips takes the edge off but I seriously want to cry!

Thanks! They were definitely softened! I think I'm over thinking this juuuuust a bit lol!!

This Thursday I get to start full liquids and plan to feast like a queen. Ok not really but I am honestly really excited to eat cream of wheat. Partly for nostalgia reasons as it was a big part of my childhood. My question is, can I add a dash of sweetener or cinnamon to add taste? And I'd appreciate any tips or tricks to get me through phase two! Thanks

Please know that your post really put things into perspective for me. I am only 2 days sleeved and I go from saying I'm done with junk food to wanting a big fat juicy burger. But I needed to read your story to show me I cannot continue to eat JUNK and stay losing weight! So THANK YOU for sharing your story and I hope to hear from you soon with a success story or two! We are all losers now!!

Thanks! No I didn't need a drain thank goodness! That's the first thing I asked when I came to after surgery. Lol! But so far my recovery has been pretty slow going. I just keep up on the pain meds and I'm ok. I just can't wait to be free of any pain and start working out!

Welcome!!! good luck on your journey!! I just got home from the hospital today. I had the sleeve done yesterday! The hardest part is seeing everyone's food posts being thanksgiving. I'd give anything for some stuffing right now lol! But I've had plenty thanksgivings so missing one won't kill me

That's exactly why I snapped out of it and stopped complaining. Cause I realized it's all in my head!! I finished day 2 strong and ready to get this surgery done!

I can't thank you two enough. That is exactly what I needed to hear!!! I CAN do this and I WILL!!! I am currently cleaning my house so it's spotless after surgery. I took the kids to the zoo earlier and it helped keep my mind off of things. I guess it's when I'm not busy that I start getting those feelings. But there's my solution... I just have to stay busy!!!! Thanks for the pep talk guys! It means so much coming from someone who has been there and done that. My poor husband is trying his best!!

I'm on my first day of a 48 hour liquid diet and feel awful!! My head is pounding and all I can think about is a nice wonderful meal. What did you do to keep your mind off of food during this phase cause seriously, it's all I can think about

Thank you so much for posting this. My surgery is on Wednesday and I'm starting to get nervous! But I am the same size you were pre surgery. So seeing your story really motivates me!!

After six amazingly long rough months I have finally been approved for my VSG! My surgery date is set for 12/4/2013 and I am so nervous! I go for chest X-ray blood work and EKG tomorrow! What do they check for with blood work? Just curious!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I called my surgeon and they said it was reported in error and were going to call my insurance right away! Now the waiting game begins

Hi guys!
Well my surgeon's staff submitted my paperwork and for some reason not all of it went through when they faxed it to BCBS of California. Well I got a letter from BCBS today saying they need more info (which my dr called already and said they were taking care of it) but on that form it said type of surgery: gastric bypass. I have been very clear I would be wanting VSG. What happens now?? I have to wait till Monday to call them and of course I'm sick to my stomach over this!!! Has anyone heard if this or had this happen to them??? I'd appreciate any input!

Thanks everyone! I had my upper gi done and they never mentioned anything about it. My next apt is Tuesday so I will ask then. :)
-
As anyone had one? I'm feeling a rather strange and uncomfortable pulling sensation under my right breast and I'm wondering if that's what it is. I have heard of surgeons fixing this while performing the VSG. Looking for anyone who's gone through it. My last appointment for my six month requirement by insurance is this Tuesday. I will confirm with them but is this something I should be asking my primary care physician?
-
Thank you all so much for your input! I too believe in if its going to happen it will. I'm probably the most impatient person in the world and I feel like this is Gods ultimate test of me leaning on Him instead of trying to figure everything out on my own

*July not September!

I have been at this new job for one month and its attempt to hire. I will be done with my 6 month ins requirement on October 15th. I will be out of my 90 probationary period in mid December. If I get offered the position I would be on another 2 months probation and on top of that won't be eligible for fmla till sept. of next year! I am so torn. I've been waiting for this for so long and I seriously can't wait till Sept! But will insurance even allow me to wait that long?! Or my surgeon for that matter?? Anyone else in a similar situation? I could use some wise words of wisdom!
