  1. I guess what I was trying to say was that yea, even tho it went down ok, it was not as satisfying due to knowing how to do better and me kicking myself for it. My mind was weak for the test but not the urge..No more! Done deal!
  2. Yes I'm starting pureed today....so I chewed the mess outta that nugget..lol. It settled fine.
  3. I wanted to know if a small amount of something "bad" would affect me. It may be too soon, I agree but I definitely want to be able to pop a nugget and move on. Friends of mine that had this surgery tell me every day that I'm obsessing over nothing....relax but that's because they were not taught how eat after surgery, they had no classes or knowledge and just signed up for the study and it's been 8 yrs for them both and they are successful yet they eat whatever they want and even can drink the same as before. They try to tell me relax, now I can live just not be so greedy. They said I would be fine but only try one and I did and I'm still alive...lol. but I did it, now over it, my brain won't let me rest. I'm over it!!!
  4. I wish I had a chance to notice the signs and symptoms, by the time I noticed anything was wrong with my gallbladder, I was in the ER screaming in pain and preparing for emergency surgery. My suggestion is...don't wait..make a way to deal with that...asap!
  5. So today was my first day out of the house. I got the urge to test out a chicken nugget from McDonald's, it was only 1 but I was willing to see the reaction...I know it was a bad idea but honestly my stomach gave me no issues at all after FINALLY getting one down but my brain has me feeling like I just tried to commit suicide. I hope that changes over time, the only fried food I like is chicken and French fries, I can minimize the amounts without a problem but will it always feel like sabotage?
  6. When your husband tells u to get ready to move from Maryland to California to give u the new life to match the new body!!! P.s...ima love this Christmas!!
  7. Can't wait for this! My husband always wanted to show that he could do it no matter what but now I won't stop him..he's so strong and sexy! Our life will definitely get interesting again after almost 18 yrs.
  8. 6 days out, 13Lbs down, way less pain every day. Slept on my side finally last night, still have this stupid drain. Drain is completely clear now with less volume. Still never needed the nausea meds, pain meds kept comfy. I feel more alive and energized than ever but I can't wait to work out. Still have the drain so that's a no no. I'm bored at home and ready to return to work already. I can't believe this is me....I've read posts and dreamed over and over that one day it will be me but it still feels like a dream. I love bariatricpal for all it's been to me, a knowledgeable companion, a teacher, a place to express myself and even vent. Congrats to u all..
  9. I just keep my water in 32 oz bottles and try to finish one daily right now, with hopes to increase soon but I'm still only 6 days post op currently so I know it will take a while. I also drink 2 small cups of green tea but still have a hard time getting all the water in.
  10. I don't think I could do as well as I could with the sleeve. I could always lose 20-30 on my own and then quickly gain back about 10 of those the minute I stopped dieting. For permanent results, I needed a permanent solution. Thank goodness for the sleeve! Now when I workout, I know I will see results almost immediate and that's so satisfying!
  11. I'm loving the idea of being such a cheap date. Now my husband and I can spend money on an activity after dinner. I wanna use my card given.by the surgeon that asks a manager at a food restaurant to allow me a kids meal even without children. I believe this works for buffets also. But I won't mind an appetizer instead of a full entree. Or splitting an entree with friends. Luckily my friends always get multiple appetizers anyway to share...now I just don't have to buy a meal to go home with. I'm cool with that.
  12. Well u say u have a few coworkers that u know, U can always offer payment or cook for a single man for a week or babysit for a single mom for a week...see what u can offer if cash is not an option for u. I don't know u at all but if we were coworkers or even neighbors, I would consider it.. Don't be afraid to ask, u never know. Remember, a closed mouth won't get fed! Good luck!
  13. Yogurt should be ok to help with digestive movement over night of I would say fruit or nuts.
  14. Great story. Congrats on your success...pics please!!
  15. So the little worry wart I am needed conformation before I thought I was ever gonna get some sleep, couldn't keep trying to wait til Monday. Basically you're all correct. The straw yellow color is normal and expected at times. Any dark yellow with any sediments or any green colors at all should be evaluated.
  16. Thanks so much, I can't believe it's finally happened to me, I feel like I hit the lotto! Or maybe more like I had an accident and won a lawsuit...lol. Still all bandaged up..good luck to all the up n coming!!!! Its your time!
  17. Yes I have a drain, and I'm suppose to keep this in until my post op appt on May 7. Its so uncomfortable and I believe the only things causing my "pain" issues. I'm scared often about infections cuz I watch the drain constantly. I just got off with the Dr. about the color I'm producing now. It went from red to a yellowish color that he assured me was normal as long as its straw yellow. Neon type yellow or any green color should be addressed. I hate to look at blood so to have to empty this thing on my own and squirt it in a cup and measure it is too much...Ick. but other than that, maybe it contributed to the weigh loss but idk. I feel great other than stomach soreness but with 2 procedures at once, I would expect worse so I'm happy.
  18. If u hear them say after drawing blood that u need a potassium drip, let me warn u....it will burn like crazy and they already know it. If they try to administer at 100, tell them u want less than 75, 60 was a lil better.. It burned and I screamed so loud everyone came running...then the nurse says, u took all ur pain so well that I thought u can handle it. Then proceeds to say how no one can handle 100...smh
  19. I'm just concerned with the color today....its not the red it was leaving the hospital but not quite the green that should alarm me but a yellowish color...does the color look ok?
  20. I feel much better. They did my sleeve and hernia repair and boy did I feel like carp on day 1and 2 but today I feel great. No pain other than the drain that I still have in and no problems drinking, slight gas pains, no nausea or vomiting, no problems swallowing. Still uncomfortable laying down but its a beautiful day out so I'm strolling. Didn't like having to administer the heparin shots or dumping my own.drain daily...yuck but I'm use to it now. I can't believe I lost 12 lbs from admission til now tho...wow.
  21. Thanks guys...I'm home now and I'm feeling pretty good on day 4!
  22. Sitting here in disbelief that it's finally done. Arrived home around 7 this evening and feeling Not so bad. Sore and swollen but no nausea, slight gas pains, still got my drain in and I still admit to feeling better each day and not regretting my decision one bit. Lost 12 lbs since being admitted. I see a promising future...good luck all my sleeved buddies !! It will be great!!
