Sudden and excruciating pain 3 weeks out
Any result from this? I just started having terrible pain on my upper left side suddenly today... More painful than anything, including right after surgery! This is really terrible, the nurse at the office didn't seem too concerned, and I'm okay at rest, but if I move-- my goodness! What did the doctor say? I have a follow up appointment on Wednesday, hopefully I can make it that long!

Thanks for your sympathies- at least I don't have the hunger problem' date=' complete opposite actually- I am so full all the time and NEVER hungry! That's what makes it tough to get Protein and fluids down. Pain wasn't a problem until today... All of a sudden I've been having terrible pain on my left upper abdomen, not sure why, but the WLS nurse says it happens when the stitches are tight... Why I felt fine until now is beyond me...- Medical professionals sleeved
I'm a PICU nurse and plan on taking 6 weeks off as it is a very physical job and they won't do "light duty"... Have been having a rough go at it though, so we shall see if I need longer... I hope I don't as I'm pretty bored at home, but still having a difficult time with fluids, Proteins, and pain- I smell funny?
Thanks for the responses!!! At first I didn't believe my BF about it, but now I feel so much better about it knowing it is normal I don't know why I didn't think of it myself (I'm a nurse too!)... I'm hopeful it will get better when I start eating real food again! Thanks!!!- I smell funny?
So ever since I started on the high Protein diet pre-op, my boyfriend has been telling me that I have a bad odor... He says it has gotten worse the past 2+ weeks post-op where I have only had protein and fluids... He says he can smell it everywhere we go, though it is worse in small areas (car, in bed, etc.)... My hygiene has not changed at all (I shower daily); he seems to think it's the protein seeping out my pores emitting the bad smell... Has anyone else experienced this?? It's a little embarrassing, but if there are any suggestions as to how to stop it they will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Meg- Trouble with food/liquids

I'm actually drinking that right now as I type! I don't add anything to make it more sweet though' date=' I'm so sick of sweet drinks already! I do dilute it down quite a bit, it says 8oz-16oz per scoop, I did 20oz...- October Sleevers - Who else
OCTOBER IS OVER!!! Congrats to all the other October sleeves- although we have a long road ahead of us, I'm so glad we made it together, and will continue to rely on each other on our lifelong journeys towards health!- Dry Ripoasted Edamame
I just got excited to try this (when I'm allowed- still on liquid diet now...) so I just ordered online! Thanks for the info- I can't wait!!!- Cold soup!
I put my Soups in covered mugs, tervis tumblers to be exact- they are well insulated and with the cover they tend to keep a lot of heat in a little strange drinking soup from a cup like that, but worth it to keep it warm!- Black out/ lighthead
Thats called orthostatic hypotension, and can happen if you are dehydrated... try to increase your fluids and it should get better. Also, take it slow when going from laying to sitting to standing- make sure you can tolerate each step before jumping up, it will help your body adjust. Good luck! --Meg (a nurse)- Trouble with food/liquids
I'm 17days out now, and while liquids are certainly easier than Protein, they are still a challenge to get down... Add in some Protein powder to the mix, and near impossible! And forget about full liquids/soft foods- I have tried multiple times to get down a serving of cottage cheese (it's only a half cup) and feel like I'm going to explode after a few bites (and you can hear my stomach growl for hours in complaint), takes more than 2 hours to get less than half down... Is anyone else experiencing this too? I don't regret anything, as I don't live that way, but it certainly scares me that this is going to be the rest of my life, struggling for nutrition... Please tell me it will get better!!! My daily goals are so difficult to meet, doing ok on liquids (right around 2L per day, still not great) but always under on protein... I'm fearful when I advance my diet I still won't tolerate anything! When does this get better?!?- tall female sleevers...
You look incredible! How often do you work out/ what do you do?- October Sleevers - Who else
Mine had been 8 days- used ducolax suppository' date=' worked like a charm! Perhaps TMI but when you fell nauseated all the time like I did still, it was truly the best option!- Protein drink quandry...advice?

I don't think they taste chalky' date=' but they are pretty gross... Almost have a weird artificial plasticy aftertaste. I gag them down on days that I'm low on protein- each bottle has 40g, so if I can get it down I feel good about meeting goals!- I Want To See Before & After Pics!

No' date=' but as a nurse, I recommend you get that checked out... It could be nothing more than sore muscles, but it could also be something more serious such as a blood clot. Best wishes, I'll be thinking of you!- October Sleevers - Who else
Same here! At first I was dropping 2lbs every 12hrs for the first week post op (same date 10/15)' date=' but for week 2 my weight has been stable... Hard to believe considering how little has been going into me calorie-wise! Regardless, lost 17lbs pre-op and another 18 post-op, total of 35lbs down in the past 4 weeks-- I'll take it :-D I suspect more will start to melt off once I'm back to work and being more active!- Slimies?
I've seen veteran sleevers post about getting the slimies (spelling??)... What is it? It sounds like some awful feeling one gets if you over do it... I know tonight my mouth started watering like I was going to get sick after I drank too much Water too quickly... Is this what you mean??!!? Thanks!- October Sleevers - Who else
I think that should be fine for a less physical job (I work as an ICU nurse so am taking at least 6 weeks off)... I'm 2 weeks out and starting to finally feel much better' date=' though I have an hour commute too and would still worry about it as I have been getting motion sick/ nauseous in cars recently... This is new- has anyone else experienced this?!?!? Have to start somewhere sometime though... So see if you can make it, and just leave early if you can, until you are back in the swing of things- safe to swallow pill capsules?
I was also told no to the gummy vitamins- only chewable were ok for that. Something about our tiny tummy's not being able to break down the gummy material as well? - Medical professionals sleeved
