  1. I was just lucky enough to get off the day before. My sister in law however had a bypass a month after mine sleeve and was on her period. She had to use pads. They wouldn't let her use a tampon she was not impressed. I suggest bring some of each just incase. But I think they are ready for anything! Good luck tomorrow you'll do great!

  4. Laura THANK YOU! GG THANK YOU! Butter THANK YOU! SUSAN A HUG AND HUGE THANK YOU for telling your story! I'm following this and am baffled that some have it single minded in there heads to argue or wanna disagree with what is mostly (not so much detail) the things we were taught and schooled in before we had this surgery. By all means most eat what you want. I am of the mind with vets and GG. I strive to eat healthy and my meals I cook are so flavorful! I also understand wanting to eat a bit of (the forbidden food) And for most we will at one time or another but a bite of cake at your birthday is ok from what believe. Now a few bites at your birthday and a few weeks later your brothers or nieces or grandmas then a few weeks later your husbands sisters ect is where the trouble lies. Susan is speaking right to me sayn "oh my sleeve will stop me" Or "oh my sleeve will talk to me" Is what I would have thought also! I know now from your story/life this will NOT happen to me. I know I have a food issue and I plan to use this tool to its fullest! Sorry if I don't sound supportive. I might have indulged more often the later I was out if not for this forum. Thank you all for opening my eyes.

    how much walking?

I walked a lot in the hospital. The first week I worked myself up to walking each day by starting out walking around my cul de sac with my husband for 5 minutes slow 2 laps the day after I got home. I increased it to 10 then 15 down the street then the block. I'm 9 wks out and walk 2 miles a day with my son in a stroller and my dog.

    Fertility pills

I have not taken them after VSG but Please be careful with those. I ended up on them for a year in 05'. Long story short it made me someone I didn't know, nobody knew! My husband said my rage was that of a roid rage. I wanted to break things. And once I did. I wish I could take that time in my life back. It was very stressful and hard on my marriage. However I know you have to go through steps seeing what works and what doesn't. I should have never been taking clomid for a year. That's not how that pill works it's short periods not long lengths. We then moved on and 5 years later after a break we tryd IVF. By then I was 29 and desperate to have a baby. We were successful our first time with IVF. Had our baby boy in Jan 2011. So I understand your need. Just watch those pills. That said I wish you all the luck in the world during this process!
  9. You are an amazingly strong woman!! Thank you for sharing your story. Wishing you the most life can offer!

Way to go!!! That's a amazing loss! I'm 9wks yesterday and down 47 lbs! Keep up the great work
  11. Yep fluid and protein in that order add protein powder to you liquids. I didn't start getting 500 calories until I was 6 wks out and able to eat real foods. At my 4 wk ck up I was still only getting maybe 300 on a good day. I got with in 5 grams of my required protein tho! It was a chore for sure. Keep tryn it'll happen.

  18. Ok that just made me snort!! haha that's just great!! My husband would give me a high five if I said that to someone !! hehehe
  19. BaHaHaHa True true!! I find myself doing just that every time I have a question pop into my head. I think that my way of trying to do this right! I want to do it right! I read in a book a women's response to someone sayn it way the easy way out. She responded with.. Do you own a wash machine?? Do you use said washer? You do...Well then why don't you take your clothes down to the river and scrub them out on a rock. A wash machine is the easy way out. I thought that was very clever lol
  20. Your liver needs to shrink in order for them to get the tools around it without damaging it. And it prepares you for your first month/s after surgery. I looked at it like a test. Can I stick to it? Can I make it through this? Will I be successful after surgery if I can make it through this test? Just my way of dealing I might also add I too was able to eat unlimited non starchy veggies during the day with a strict dinner plan and 2 protein shakes. Maybe ask is you could have non starchy veggies if it becomes to much and you really wanna cheat with something you should not like carbs. Good luck I'm sorry your starving but YOU CAN DO THIS!!oh and I don't have hunger 9 wks out I get a slightly sick feeling if I forget to get but fix it fast with a small meal
  21. Omg... Really what is wrong with people! I'd have came back with a yep he just told me how much more he loves me now that I'm not fat....with a FU look. Or just as Sarahr said walk away and let them figure it out what an a** They just were. I'm only 9 wks out and haven't seen many people I know, but I'll be back with an update.
