Hello ladies, I start my 6 month diet on Monday. I was told I was only required to lose 20l
Today is my FIRST day of my six month diet! Only good thing is I don't have to lose a required amount. Hoping for a late April/ early May date.
bs. I was really happy to hear that news, but I will try to loss more than 20 lbs to lower my BMI before surgery.Yeah I don't have to lose a required amount either and that kinda scary. I read a lady's comment on another thread and she said that she failed big time doing the six month diet and her insurance made her do an addition month due to non compliance. I think I'm gonna call my insurance and ask them what exactly are they looking for doing the six months.

What is the name of your insurance company? I have UHC and they also require a supervised diet. I don't know the duration yet. That's great news!

My UHC plan requires the supervised diet prior to surgery. I wish there was away around that, but it's not. I really wanted to have the surgery done before the holidays.

I just received a call from the surgeon's office to inform me that I will need to be on a supervised diet. The rep told me when I go in for consultation the surgeon will let me know the duration. Anyone else have this same requirement?

True, this will definitely be a lifestyle change, so it's good for me to get mentally and physically prepared. Thank you for your reply.

I'm waiting on approval for the gastric sleeve. I just started the process last Wednesday. I heard about the 6 month supervised diet period. Is there any way around this process?
