    Two Months Out!

Very handsome. Good job keep up the great work. I wish I could of lost that much. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks and I am 190 as of today blah
  2. I chew gum everyday several times a day too... I never swallow my gum and therefore I don't have a problem. Surgeons say don't chew gum because god forbid you swallow the gum, you will have lots and lots of complications. My nut said I can chew gum as much as I want as long as I don't swallow and like I said it never happens
  3. He first 3 weeks I really struggled with Vitamins and Protein. There were days I wouldn't take my vitamins and forget about the protein. I tried every single one that was recommended to me and I would gag at just the smell. So I was only getting 20g of protein the most a day. I was getting really upset and wanted to give up but I didn't. I knew that each day would get better and I ha you wonderful people to give me advise. I walked 3 miles a day between walking during lunch and at the gym. Yesterday I started soft food and my protein was 63g which I was sooo happy. My NUT said it's a must that I get 70g a day. A friend from here named Linda has given me great advise. I was at a stall because during mushy food I started eating mashed potatoes(not often but at least twice a week) and watermelon(3 times per week) .. She explained how the potatoes have the carbs and the watermelon have the sugar. I listened and stopped eating them and got cottage cheese as a replacement. Prior to surgery, I hated cottage cheese. My co-worker told me to get the whipped and I was surprised how much I loved it. I listened and my stall is gone.. Today, I didn't each much yogurts but I added thin sliced turkey an light cheese, tuna, light mayo, Quest Protein Bar and I was soooo satisfied. (Not at once of course) .. I worked out at the gym for 1.5hours as well and I had so much energy.. Why am I happy with my sleeve? Well I use my fitness pal and use a personal diary to calculate my food and here are my results for today.... Drum roll please haha Cal-593, fat-19.5, sugar-10.1, carbs-36.8, Protein 80.2g(OMG this made me soooo happy). I was shocked that I am above goal of what my NUT told me. I feel full and satisfied. I am so motivated and have lots of energy. December 30-surgery day 213lbs January 25, 191lbs My weight loss is slow but I am happy
  4. Honestly by then you should be fine. Try to eat food with protein as much as you can. Cottage cheese was my favorite food during week 3 and 4. Light and fit Greek yogurts are great too. And if you are I to protein shakes than that will be the best choice. Make sure you have a bottle of water with you at all times. Don't forget the vitamins and make sure you chew slowly of you don't want to have any gas or acid problems
  5. Thank you so much Sir I really appreciate the encouragement
  6. I am beyond happy and pleased. Last night I had my first meal which included a piece of thin deli meat and a slice of cheese and it was delicious. Today for lunch I made a tuna salad which included dice onions, light mayo and lemon and pepper and I LOvED it. It tasted sooo delicious and my sleeve loved it and accepted it. I was so scared that I was never going to be able to eat again but that was not the case. I took care of my sleeve though and I ate by my doctors rules and ate very slowly. I was so scared to eat the tuna but I felt normal again. I could cry from happiness. Only my mom, 2 sisters and 3 closest friends knew of my surgery and now that I am eating more "healthy" food the rest of the family are not suspicious. I try to eat every 4 hours just like I am told too but sometimes every 3 hours because I do get hungry. I also work out so for 4 weeks I ate between 300-420 calories and yesterday was the first day I ate 690 calories and I did burn 390 at the gym. This is my phase 3 so not sure how much calories I should be eating. I make sure each of my meal had lots of Protein and low carbs. Just a week ago I was barely getting 20g of protein and yesterday it was 63g I was beyond happy. I also take my Vitamins everyday it's part of me now and I don't want to get sick. I drink lots of Water especially at night I have a bottle next to my night stand and I am surprised how much I drink. I used to love sweet food but I am starting to hate them a lot. Like I loved my yogurt in the morning which is light and fit Greek yogurt and now I am finding it to be really sweet lol. Not complaining because sweets are the reason why I got into this place. I have a lot of energy. I work full time and I am a full time student taking 6 classes and I still make time to go to the gym 3 times per week and I walk everyday during my lunch. Knock on wood, I have to gas or acid problem at all. I wish I could use the bathroom more often but I will get there soon enough. Sometimes I think I did not have the sleeve at all haha. I remember the first 2 weeks were hard and everyone told me how it will get better to hang in there and I would say to myself no this will never get better but it's true it does get better. Just have patience and you won't believe how fast time flys. Ok going to do homework now, I just wanted to share something positive.
  7. You will do fine. Just follow your doctors rules and stay away from food
  8. Hi skinnies I am at the gym at the moment but I want to make a tuna salad for tomorrow and I have to do idea how to make it since I have never made it before. I know it's silly but was never a tuna kinda girl. Tomorrow I start stage 3 and I really need to increase my Protein. I hope someone knows something that's easy and doesn't take a lot of time. I was thinking tuna in Water mixed with scallions, light mayo an very tiny bit of salt?! Is that good enough? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated it. Dona <3
  9. It included cheese as well AnD the slices were bigger than regular
  10. I bought boars head blacked turkey breast(paper thin cut) an light Swiss cheese (paper thin cut) and had one slice of meat and one slice of cheese and it was the best food I have had in a month lol. I am supposed to start phase 4 tomorrow but I started today and honestly it didn't upset my sleeve or anything and I was satisfied yay
  11. I had Dr. Schmidt in Paramus NJ. I usually wouldn't recommend anyone but I had noooooo problem with my sleeve. No pre-diet needed. Good luck

    Life after sleeve

Thank you everyone and good luck to you all. It's definitely a life changing and can't wait until summer I am finally going to the beach this year
  16. My new life started December 30,2013. I had my ups and downs but over all I've been good. Went back to work full time just after 7 days and I glad I did because it made me busy. Well now tomorrow I start school and I am taking 6 classes. So besides working and taking care of my sleeve, I will have another thing on my plate. I hope I am not over doing it. I also workout 4 days a weeks. Don't ask how I find the time to do it.. Haha.. Just trying to graduate next December with 2 majors in law so excited. I wanna be a skinny bitch lawyer hahahaha .. Ok sorry don't want to sound coincided but I am just excited I am craving some food so badly but thankfully I am keeping my self busy.
  17. Be been stalling the last 2 weeks for sure but it could be more. I wasn't eating much Protein and I started having 4oz of mashed potatoes 2-3 a week. I was also having watermelon. I was getting no more than 20g of protein. I can't stand Protein shakes tried almost everything everyone recommended. To make the story short, a friend here whose name is Linda told me to cut the mashed potatoes and watermelon out of my diet and I listened. That day, I threw them out and bought whipped cottage cheese and started eating 1-3 a days and light and fit Greek yogurt 2-3 a day. They are half the calories, carbs and sugar as Chobani. This morning I woke up and lost 3lbs since my last weigh in which was 4 days ago. I also walk for an hour with my co-worker during our lunch and I worked out everyday but now that I started school, I could only go Friday-Sunday. So excited that 3 more lbs and I will never be on the 190s weight range woohoo Even though I was sad and angry I didn't give up my diet and I tried and tried. This is my third week after surgery and I guess losing 22lbs in 3 weeks isn't bad at all... I should be happy

    Dont give up

Thank you. Yes I stopped eating potatoes completely. I realized they were not good for me. Maybe that is the reason why I wasn't losing weight. Yes this is not a race but still haven't seen a difference haha. I am doing everything I can to eat right and workout as much as I can. Hopefully I won't stall again for another couple of weeks. Finger crossed
  19. Can someone please give me some good ideas to add to refried beans? Something that's quick and goood.. I work full time and go to school so I want something that won't take long to make? Thank you in advance

What is the day of surgery like?

I remember my day of surgery like it was today. Once I got there at 5:30 I had to register and was put in a room. The nurse came and admitted me. Then I had a nurse draw blood on me and then I saw the anesthesiologist and he told me everything will be ok. After few minutes my doc came and answered any questions I had. I was changed to a gown in the beginning btw. Then they wheeled me to the OR. That's when I got super nervous I started crying and breathing heavy. The OR nurse was so nice she kept telling me I will be okay but I was nervous because they were putting stuff on me. Since I had heart surgery few years ago I had extra stuff on me and plus they made me nervous when they said leave her left side empty in case something happens with the heart. Then they put the mask on and the nurse told me where I would like to go and I said Fiji and she said ok we are all going to Fiji. I was crying and wanted to tell them to stop and give up but she held my hand and I closed my eyes and pretended she was my mom. I know it's silly but I was so nervous. Idk that I'm 25 haha. That's all I remember and then when I was up I was in a lot of pain but they gave me plenty of medications and I slept most of the day. This is not to scare you but don't think it will be a piece of cake.. Ohh and I had my period but thank god it was my last day so it wasn't bad at all. Good luck to you. Day 2 will be so much better.
