I know you don't care, but others might so let me point out that tanning changes your skin's DNA such that as you age you look much worse than you otherwise would have without the excess UV exposure. Think wrinkles, lines around the mouth, deep lines on your forehead and rough skin with dark freckles. I realize that the future seems very far away when you are in your 20s, but I promise you it comes faster than you think -- and YES you will care what you look like even when you are an old lady of 35 or 40!! :P It's not worth it. Use sunless tanning cream or go for the mystic tan instead. OK that's all.

Beware of Mexico Bariatric Center (MBC)
woo woo replied to dsteimen's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I got the impression that it was THAT specific organization and specific doctor that she distrusts and wants to report on. Never did I hear her say she was against the entire country of Mexico and every last doctor that lives there. Why is everyone attacking this woman? -
Romantic Relationships: Change in Focus
woo woo replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wonder if the feeling you are having could also be expressed as "I don't want to spend my life with any of the people that I have met thus far." ? Just a thought. Sounds like a tough spot to be in, but if it's not for you there's no point in wasting anyone's time. Just my opinion. I know these things are easier said than done!! -
WOW! Looking amazing, you have done great! :)

Full body lipo...anyone had it or researched it? Amazing results pics
woo woo replied to Sassafras's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm not 100% convinced that those pics are legit... I have had extensive lipo and it is VERY PAINFUL and the results are just okay. For what it's worth, I wouldn't do lipo again, having experienced it firsthand unless it was literally a tiny, single area like the chin or something. You look very, very good now, btw. Congrats. -
@@anniemay How interesting. I have read a little bit about this bbw thing and it always seems super creepy. I don't think I would at all like being fetishized in that manner.

Starting the journey again....
woo woo replied to law001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is really easy to think that way, and I have had those moments myself. Then I look at the facts and realize that I have been dieting and gaining over and over and over for 20+ years. Frankly if I was gonna succeed in keeping the weight off, I would have done so already. That's my take on it. Once I made my mind up I haven't looked back. Another thing to consider is that sleep apnea is a serious problem and causes high blood pressure over time (among other things). When I was trying to make my mind up I asked myself whether I would have an operation to cure my sleep apnea and the answer was YES. Good luck to you! -
Congrats! :)

Surgeon has only done 26 sleeves
woo woo replied to ChristmasJanet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My understanding is that, statistically speaking, the higher the number of surgeries done by a given surgeon, the lower the risk of complications. Based on that information plus basic common sense my answer would be no. I would just rather let him do his learning on others. -

Pain returned after 5 weeks
woo woo replied to beme2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would go back if you feel worse today. Just because they didn't find it the first time doesn't mean that there isn't something there. Best of luck to you!! Please let us know how you are doing. ETA What does your surgeon say today? Have you contacted re: increased pain? -
The new name is "Portion8" so that's what it says on it now. I checked the website.

Looks like they have rebranded it and changed the name, which is good. I was not crazy about the "BARIWARE" printed on the tote.

Cheating the consultation scale...
woo woo replied to msjoy83's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first weigh in is the one that counts towards getting approved, because you are often expected to lose some before surgery (not always, but it is common). There may be insurances that consider a second weigh in after that to look at your BMI, but I have not heard of any. If someone knows of any, pipe up.... I was required to keep my weight at 35 bmi and never to dip below and also to not gain. During the three months I did go up two pounds but then lost the two to end back to my original weight (exactly 35 bmi) by the end of the diet period. I am currently awaiting insurance approval from Cigna. -
Just wanted to say congrats on your losses so far and hang in there!

Just wanted to add that many people on here are having lots of luck using 5:2 to lose a regain (being a year or more out). There are a bunch of links and info about it on here, you should be able to find it with a search.

Cheating the consultation scale...
woo woo replied to msjoy83's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The slouching thing really does work and can shave a few pounds off what you need to qualify in the first place. Also go through your closet and find your heaviest pair of shoes or boots. Suede tennis shoes with thick soles were the winner for me! Good luck to you! -
Can't speak from experience but I was told by my nut that she finds that most people are able to handle about the same spicy after surgery as they were comfortable with beforehand.
