woo woo replied to Sofficial's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just beautiful! Way to go !! -
Agree. Call them back or go down there and explain that you need the papers submitted asap. Be nice about it but firm, ask them for help and explain about your wedding coming up. Make them want to help you.

Questions for all. Starting to stress!

Have you been tested for sleep apnea? If not that's a biggie if you have it. -
When will I feel normal again
woo woo replied to tleg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should feel much better in a day or two. Then better every day. You should feel fully normal in 2-3 weeks. It goes much faster than I'm sure you can imagine right now. Hang in there -
Venting about bad news
woo woo replied to highdesertblue's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Did he give you an actual reason for not wanting to take you on? It might be helpful to you going forward. Just a thought. Good luck to you, don't give up. p.s. he sounds like a dick anyways. -
That's where I was too. It's a really nice facility. I had really good care there, the nurses and cna's were very responsive any time I called and I never had to wait longer than a couple minutes for anything. They put you on the ambulatory surgery floor after you get out of recovery, and there will likely be several other bariatric patients. When I was there it was like 3 Nicholson patients and then several that used one or two other surgeons but still bariatric. You will see them as you walk the halls at all hours of the night. I was very happy with my experience. I hope it goes as well there for you.

Drinking while eating
woo woo replied to Jennifer Rogers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You want to give the liquid some time to clear out of your stomach before you add any food to it. Same concept as the applesauce demo/not drinking after meals. -
attn people who are going and/or have been to mexico for surgery
woo woo replied to MindyLynn5's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you call your cell phone company they can switch you over to an international plan to use while you are gone and then you call back when you get home and switch back to your regular plan. We do this all the time when traveling outside the country. Normally we do just one of our phones. The cost is minimal and worth it to be able to use your phone as much as you want/need. -
My husband has the exact same thing happen. We have decided just that -- that it must be dirt, oil or whatever is washed off. Seems crazy but it's true at least in our house.

Is there any chance you could be pregnant? I have heard the fertility shoots up just after surgery. Not to scare you but that was the first thing that came to mind.
-
I forgot to ask, where are you getting it done?
-
That's exciting. I am sure you will do great. He does a really great job. Follow the post op instructions and diet exactly. It's so worth it. Welcome!

I think you hit on something there when you said something about being treated as if you are invisible. That's the reason. Nobody was purposely ignoring you, it was more like they just didn't notice you there before -- and now they do. It is what it is. Look, the world is an unfair place. The sooner you accept this, the happier you will be in life.

If you think you might be full, that's the best time to stop. Push it away and see how you feel in 5 minutes.

Off, daily before and after shower. Strangely enough, it almost always goes down about .4 after the shower unless I wash my hair. Obviously I take the lower weight and write that down.

Little off topic... but are they any down sides to pot after surgery?

What do you eat on a normal day? Im worried :s
woo woo replied to yescobar's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@Ldimples The GNC Lean shakes (Strawberries and Cream) I get at GNC stores, I don't think they are available anywhere else. The stores are pretty easy to find though. I have even bought them in very small towns while traveling for business. The Premier chocolate I buy at either Kroger or Albertson's. I also know that some people get them at costco. -
Dr. Frenzel Arlington-Dallas, Tx

@@xenafnp did you also use frenzel for your plastics? Just curious, I've seen his commercials. -
What do you order when you go out to eat with your family?
woo woo replied to S(he) be(lie)ve(d)'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When eating Italian I always order meatballs parmigiana -- just a side of meatballs with melted parmigiana cheese on top. Mexican get either a soft taco and eat the filling only (I like to dip the meat in fresh salsa), or a chile relleno (large mild pepper stuffed with cheese and either beef, chicken, or shrimp). -
Citerra Financing- whoa!
woo woo replied to shizwiz's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You would be better off with using a credit card. If your limits are not high enough you could call and ask them to raise it up. Just a thought. Good luck -
Skipping puréed and going straight to soft!?!?
woo woo replied to Jennifer Rogers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Moisture with your meats will make all the difference. Go slow and try a little before you jump in. -
It was prob the stitch that was used to close your large incision. They normally use the dissolving kind so it's meant to pop eventually. If you are worried or if there is pain you should call your doc.

Refried beans and cheese
woo woo replied to Jennifer Rogers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are going to be eating such a tiny amount... I would go for the full fat versions. It will be tastier and more satisfying to you. I for one loathe reduced fat/fat free products and never touch the stuff. -
Help! Can I do this? Planning on taking only 7 days off work...
woo woo replied to alovelynewme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to go back after 5 days off but to a desk job. I was very tired the first couple of days back but fine by the end of the first week back. As a teacher you will probably be tired the first week back but I think you can make it through. Prepare everything ahead of time and you should be just fine.
