    old posts

I'm not sure which posts you are talking about? I will say it's never too late and I hope you don't mean it when you say you have given up. Don't give up on something you really want (if you do), you are worth the extra effort.

    Consultation in 4 days!

Welcome Angie! One thing you can do is call your insurance company and ask what they require for approval. They should be able to give you the details, in writing probably if you ask. Best of luck and read everything you can, including these boards.

    Cigna insurance and weight gain...

I was told that they would by the insurance gurus at my docs office. I was approved with an overall net loss/gain of 0. ETA I started at bmi 35 so I made it a point not to lose or gain anything. Oddly stressful but very worth it in the end.
  7. Mine wanted to talk about what my trouble areas were (i.e. snacking/overeating in the evening during tv time) and that it is important to come up with some strategies or replacements for dealing with those times. My experience was very easy. I also had to take the long true/false test.
  8. Just wanted to add that, this early out you cannot get in enough food if you stick to the three meals/no Snacks rule. In a month (or two) you will be able to fit in much more per sitting, but for now, I just don't think it's feasible.
  9. You are not imagining it ... it really is that bad. That exchange is very telling and he obviously knows just where to cut to hurt you the most. Others can hopefully give you a more eloquent reply, but please know that you are not alone and you are most definitely NOT overreacting or imagining things. Many of us have been there in our lives and still lived happily ever after. Well, once we ditched the verbal/mental abuser in our lives we lived happily ever after (alone or with new, loving spouses). Hugs to you.

    Getting rid of addictions

You absolutely can wean yourself off cigarettes. I did it myself. Especially if you are at 3 per day now. That is not even enough nicotine to show up on a blood test. At this point it is emotional attachment for you, and that is ok. Never go over your 3 per day, whatever you do. When you feel ready, drop down to 2 or 1 per day and always stick to it once you drop down. Once you get to 1 per day it is literally painless to let that one go. Zero withdrawals. You can do this!! I smoked a lot for over 23 years. Quit almost 2 years ago and have never even been tempted. ETA the blood test I took when I was at 3 or 4 per day was for life insurance. I have no idea whether it would show up on a test for surgery.

Yes he is very good. No there is no drain. One night stay in hospital, discharged around 1pm the next day. Allowed to drink/eat same day as surgery. Well, eat liquids like broth and Popsicles anyway.
  13. I also had a positive and uneventful experience. In my case the anesthesiologist came in and gave me about a half inch of propofol out of his syringe. Worked like a charm, no fear.

Yes for sure, had it for about 2.5 to 3 weeks, intermittently. Was told by Sandy that it is part of the healing process.
  15. I, too, had bad headaches for the first few days after surgery. At the time I thought it was caused by my anti nausea drug so I switched to something different on day 5 and the headaches seemed to go away.

    Alcohol?

Alcohol seems to hit me at the same rate as before, which was pretty quick to begin with, but I haven't noticed any increase in the rate of intoxication since surgery. ETA: Either way I would strongly suggest waiting longer to try it, one month is just too soon/risky imo
  17. eggs are tough as early out as you still are. I would not suggest ice cream. At that stage I was able to eat boiled egg mixed with mayo but not scrambled. Call your doc but I still suggest upping the needs to daily.
  18. Have you tried taking the medicine daily?
  19. You will not need the pjs, you will be in a hospital gown. If anything you could bring a robe or wrap (non terrycloth)

    Surgery today and pic

Wishing you a fast and uneventful recovery. When they go down I bet your lips will be fab. Question: what is a tuck up?

    Eggs and stages

I would add some mayo if trying hard boiled that early out. Moisture is the key.

    Water Tea intake etc

Hot drinks like herbal tea is one of the easiest things to drink postop. You shouldnt have any trouble enjoying these at all. I drink 2 to 3 cups every day.
