  2. Focus on living and doing something, not the scale. We all have had stalls, we all will continue to have stalls.
  3. Good post. Should be required reading before we can post a topic.
  4. Excellent article. I have felt the "sting" of a little rudeness. If it were not for this forum I do not know where I would be today in my journey. I am thankful to all those who have guided me along.

We told no one except 1 daughter, 1 niece, and a nurse friend, because my husband said NO! 3 months post op and I am so thankful. All everyone wants to talk about is our losing weight (over a 5-month period) and I am sick and tired of it frankly. Ignore us like you used to when we were fat. Imagine if they had our surgery to talk about LOL. We are pretty quiet people and like sitting to the side and enjoy looking and laughing and being together. Please quit worrying about what anyone thinks. This is your life and its high time you take control of you if this is what you want. Do make sure you have at least one or 2 people for support. I wish you the very best!
  6. Happy for you! A better life ahead!

You should find an upscale consignment shop in any large city and buy yourself some new duds that fit during these phases Johnny! Enjoyed your tale. My husband has clothes 3x to large, stored and boxed in two houses, because he is a serious hoarder. Trouble is there is there are things like some lime green polyester plaid pants (no he never played golf). His 50-lb weight loss has kept him the baggy 3x so far. This shall be very interesting, like you! Keep up the story telling. I enjoyed!
  8. In life, we have the same negatives in the workplace. Church. Checkout lines. This is no different. Those negative people are here also. The rude people I encountered here are outnumbered by what seems to be a million happy, sweet and caring people who have become our friends. There are so many awesome people here. We can only be bullied by the bullies we let bother us. Here's to treating each other with respect, and saying to someone, "In addition to the other posts, I recommend....."
  9. So sorry you are feeling a bit down and out, but there is also lots of positives in your blog! Especially your children and looking forward to getting out this summer and making plans. I believe everything contributes to our being despondent, and number one I believe is the winter doldrums. Next, in my humble opinion, is despite our weight loss, we still have issues with our bodies, our hair, our age, our health, our life in general, the same as we had when we were overweight. I would like to say one thing to you that touches my heart. It seems like yesterday my children were small. I had 2 unhappy marriages, was basically self-supporting when I divorced. I had no choice but to put my job and paycheck first. Rejoice and play, plan summer picnics with your children in a park on a blanket. I cannot go back and undo my life, but I can tell you to count your sweet blessings and hope I inspire you. I have worn wigs and will again if need be. I still have my precious daughter, she is 48 and my darling friend of fun now. I kayak with her, I laugh and have fun with her. You get ready for summer fun and get back on course. A lot depends on it. Hugs, Linda

  11. Hope you are feeling better - watch your BP also. This was my husband's problem, low blood pressure!
  12. Soooooooo proud for you!!! Keep up the good work!
  13. We are all addicted to something, whether it be food, alcohol, work, drugs, adventure, pills, bulimia, sex, etc. Food has been my addiction. Alcohol was my family addiction on my mother and dad's sides of the family. We are here to change our addictions, and I wish I were 50 instead of 66 (when I had better health). But I sure plan on living the best life I can now that I am sleeved! Best of luck Nancy!
  14. My husband and I were both sleeved after 10 years of seminars, research and thinking about it. This site gives you much information, so between here and seminars on WLS, you can decide. We have never been happier!!! 2 months post op.
  15. Edward, my husband and I were sleeved 2 months ago (10 years of looking at scary WLS). He was 320 lbs with diabetes, HBP, sleep apnea, heart stent, back problems. He was very afraid because of his health. He is 65. I was scared he would die if he did not have the surgery. Two months since surgery now, he is down to 273 (post op and pre op), and we are better mentally and physically. Wish we could have had surgery 10 years back but he wanted them t perfect it before he let them operate on him. God Bless. The longer you wait the worse it gets. Read and read more on this site, you will learn everythng!
  16. food/ liquid unless it is on a daily basis, my opinion.
