1. Yes, had the shoulder pain also, very weird. Pretty soon it will be gone. No more gas pains at all, after one week. Good luck!
2. Best wishes, and very sorry for your loss. Relax and get back on plan. All is okay!
3. I am 2 months post op sleeve, and I mix 1/2 decaf and 1/2 regular. No problems!
4. Welcome and good luck to you. We were sleeved, but there are some real band experts here who will help you immensely!
5. Same here B-52, no one's business! Truth is, no flour, bread, rice, Pasta, alcohol, cokes, sweets, sugar, etc. in my house equals weight loss LOL!!!!
6. Nsena, we put our faith in God and our wonderful surgeon. Of course you worry. But these surgeons have been sleeving for years. They are experts. Best wishes for your decision!
7. Hello there Grandma22. Very happy for you! I am a grandmother also and very happy. I was sleeved 11/18. Best of luck!
8. I am told that you have to contact SassySenior and she will help you. Good luck in your journey. I like posting with a lot of people.
9. HotB, I have followed Misty from day one so I am aware of that. Misty's salary won't go a long way when paying bills, feeding her children and medical bills. I am simply pointing out to you Misty that you know where to get the help you will need. Best wishes Misty.
10. Hi Josh, good luck! We could all have a blood clot without this surgery. Any surgery has risks, but you might have risks without surgery, right? My husband was 320 prior to sleeving 12/2. He is diabetic, has a heart stent, was on 3 BP meds, sleep apnea (terrible), neuropathy, back problems which limit him walking or doing anything much but sitting. He is at 278 now. I was sleeved also on 11/18. We have never once thrown up. We drink without restriction today. We drank slowly after surgery but we always could drink liquids, just a bit slower after surgery. No regrets here! We have been going to seminars 10 years. Just wish the sleeve had been available/covered by insurance many years ago before our health worsened. We are 67 and 66 and thankful we have a chance now to do things and get on with living. Rather than sitting in a rocking chair. God Bless! Life is wonderful!
11. Piece of cake. So worth it! Some people fly to Mexico, so good luck!!! Don't let little things get you down.
12. WOW, that sounds great! All of you! My husband had the sleeve 12/2 and is still on his base dose of insulin, but he is weak from the drop in his blood pressure. He came off one BP med, and even though he felt woozy he got in the shower and passed out cold. Cracked 6 tiles, cut his arm terribly, and terrible bruising where he hit his face. We do our best to have minimum carbs and sugar. I hate diabetes. I hope I never have another 3 a.m. morning with him unconscious and calling rescue. Horrible experiences over 22 years, which is our reason for WLS.
13. I wish I could give you a hug. You may not know where your next meal will come from with him gone, but I guarantee with your smarts you know where to find help and you will survive. You have been fighting the system for your babies a long time I know, and you might even cause him to get a job. God's Grace.
14. If someone judges you, the hell with them. This forum is for helping each other and being supportive. Life is short. Children are forever. I have been through harder times than anyone can imagine, and people would say Oh My God if I spoke. I choose not to because happiness is mine now. If you had a marriage you would not be here with your rants. God Bless.
15. Trust me, you cannot eat a lot of refried beans, a little will fill you up. We were given tons of information by our surgeon and nutritionist and refried beans was one of the first things mentioned when on mushy. Carbs we don't worry about, you will only eat less than 1/4 cup at a time, most likely. Good luck!
16. Maybe a new group should be named Tight Panties & Push Ups. LOL!
17. Welcome Lin, you are probably just starting to feel better! I am in Jacksonville, and 2 months post op.
18. HHHappy, I sent you an invite. Welcome, and check us out. Linda
19. HHHappy, I sent you an invite. Welcome, and check us out. Linda
20. Wigster, good luck and welcome! We have tried every protein powder. Bariatric Advantage from the surgeon's office is too chalky for me, and slimy (sorry) if you don't add lots of ice. My husband tolerates it, not me. I bought EAS at Walmart, and it was approved by the nutritionist. The powder is cheaper than BA. Personal favorite is Premier Protein from Sam's Club or Costco, 30 grams protein in one shake.

I just ordered Puritan Whey, BOGO, because I heard on a thread it was good and I plan to make a lot of iced shakes into the summer months. I would highly recommend you try to get samples before buying big containers of powders.

After surgery we are not allowed fruit, and willing to forego it anyway because of our diabetes. Smoothies so good with the fruits though LOL. Try Torani SF syrups with your shakes, available in the grocery store in the coffee section.

Best of luck everyone!
21. Saint Linda I will never be LOL. I am very opinionated since I reached my 60s, and have told all my FB nieces, nephews, cousins, young friends, I have earned that right to say what I want now that I am in my 60s. Haven't made any of my relatives mad but I have chafed 2 people around here who were not nice a bit. Oh well. I am over the longtime need to have everyone like me. LOL. Glad for the progress with your BP and sugar Sassy. It can only get better!! I pray for the day my husband could be off insulin but I have read posts and met a nurse at our surgeon's office who probably weighs 140, sleeved several years, and has never come off insulin. Hmmm. I don't want preaching either. Not from Facebook for sure. I have a wonderful relationship with God but it is personal. OK, I challenge you to that race LOL!!!! Get busy!
22. Check out our Baby Boomers group and breathe some new life into us! Welcome! My husband and I were sleeved in November and December. It feels so wonderful and comfortable to be with a special group called Baby Boomers. This group has been such a comfort to me.
23. Looking at my post above I tried correcting the words that separated in the middle as I was typing, and what a mess I made. Lesson learned.
24. Good post Sassy. Hello everyone. My husband woke me early this morning coming home from another sleep study night. Looks like the pulmonary doctor is having him toe the line and I love it, he thinks he is his own doctor. The sleeve process has made him jump through hoops thank God. I got reinforcements which I needed.

I became pretty vocal in welcoming newbies that have posted, and I am trying harder to
throw in Baby Boomers here Sassy, to welcome them here. Seems there are a lot of people
over 60 having surgery. Maybe we are all too busy in our lives to post more? I for onehardly have a life LOL as my husband can hardly miss his afternoon nap. I think a lot of it is depression. Just the way it is when you can hardly walk. So I spend a lot of
time reading and posting.

Lets definitely try and attract new participants.

BTW Sassy, my sister once said before she passed away, "We are all addicted to something, food, alcohol, medicines, drugs........". I agree. I grew up in a long line of
alcoholics. I was bored and drank every night before surgery, felt I could not relax
without it, and am proud to know I
could quit and not have a desire for it since I started my WLS. Have a good day
everyone!
