I am starting my second week of full liquid diet and I have lost 10 lbs!! Wow! I'm going in tomorrow for my pre-op testing and first nutritionist appt.

Well time is now winding down and i only have a week and a few days left... How is everyone feeling about there upcoming surgery...

It's my one week anniversary...this time last week I was being pushed to my room..lol..wow the week went fast with no bumps or troubles..and I truly wish the same for all of you.

Am anxious about beginning the preop diet in the AM. My doc requires two weeks preop diet of 3 shakes a day and one small meal. I'll tell ya, I envision being so ravenous that containing myself to a small meal sounds like a huge challenge! I dunno. I feel for ya, and I will be hungry along side you tomorrow. I had two one ounce containers of diluted apple juice, 4 medicine cup size containers of sugar free Jello , hot tea with splenda, and broth. I did not eat or drink much of it at all. It was all pretty tasteless and gross.

I'm still very excited about mine! I find it so bizarre that I haven't eaten anything in 9 days! Four more to go and then surgery Friday!

i have no idea about how many calories i eat in a day but i def. dont think its more than 1000 but who knows. i hope that everything goes wonderful with you!!!

Thanks yall !! Like seriously I have been keeping up with the diet , this pain in my toe and everything .. I'm trying to do it right but this right here is STRESSFUL but one day at a time and breath and count to 10 is what ill try and remember

Hi all!! I have a surgery date of 12/27. My husband and I are on this journey together and his date is 12/11. We are super estatic that we can start this new lifestyle together. We began in July and completed all necessary requirements ( nutrition classes, appointments, xray, cardiac etc) and it only took our insurance company 3 business days to get back with us with the approval. Our family and close friends are super supportive, which is a plus.. Is it possible to be nervous/anxious/excited? If so, that is me!! Best of Luck to all the December Sleevers!

Hey group -- As of today, I'm officially sleeved! Surgery was easy peasy, and I've been doing good since. I've attached a hospital selfie and a pic of my first post-op meal. Actually getting lots of liquids in, so that's good. I was so worried about not being able to take in liquids, but since 4:00, I've taken in 4 small bowls of broth, two cups of Decaf tea, and some ice chips. Had a difficult time with sugar-free Jello and sugar-free popsicles, though. Not sure if it was the texture, weight/volume, temperature, sweetener, etc. whatever it was, I couldn't handle more than a couple tiny bites of each. I'll try them again at a later date when I have no swelling in my teeny-tiny belly.
As for pain, my doc used a tap block instead of a pain pump, but evidently, pain relief from that doesn't kick in until 24 hours or so. Taking pain meds by IV now. I am having pain, but it's more muscle soreness than anything else. I have been up to walk laps, but even before then, I wasn't having any unmanageable gas pains. Feeling very happy with what seems to be a good outcome. Be blessed, everyone!

I am saying a prayer tonight that our 12/2 sleevers are resting comfortably tonight and that our 12/3 sleevers are able to get some rest before their big day! Good luck!

I can't believe tomorrow is the big day. This process has taken me a year and a half due to so many issues but it's finally here! I have to be there for 6am for my 7:30 surgery. I'm incredibly nervous but also excited. I'm going to try to go to bed early since I'm such a worrier I'm just driving myself crazy! It would mean a lot if you guys could keep me in your thoughts and prayers! And best of luck to the rest of tomorrow's sleevers!
