Only 4 weeks post op, but you now never have to worry if the food on your plate will be enough to fill you up. It will always be too much, especially at restaurants. -
3 weeks out is it normal to have 8 oz of food
AuriP replied to belllopez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Depending on the foods I can get 6 oz at the most. I am 4 weeks post op. Most times I can't get more than 3-4 oz of foods in. I'm on soft solids and since I began it, I cant really get more than the 4 oz in. My nutritionist said I can have up to a cup of food but I can't ever get close to that at this point. I have at least 1 protein shake a day. -
So I did my 1st month stats. I'm down 25 lbs from highest weight, 17 lbs from surgery weight. I'm down 28 inches throughout my body and 2 dress sizes. I say that's a pretty good accomplishment so far.
-
Wahoo on the sizes! I can't wait to be a 14, I think that is a good 20lbs from now though.
-
I want so badly to buy a size 8, that is 10 sizes down from what I am now. I'm just so nervous to go out and actually purchase it.

REVISION to Bypass
AuriP replied to lindsaybhill's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
You will do just fine. I am 4 weeks post op from the revision and am as new as can be. I had to have a few new scars but if you rub cocoa butter and vitamin E oil on them it should lessen the severity of the scar. My new scars are lighter than my old ones. -
I don't consider protein drinks meals. That is the only way I can get my recommended protein in.

I will be careful, usually if I have to lift we always have to do it with another person at least. I know what people to call on when I need help lifting. Plus it depends on what they are having me do, I am a float CNA so I'm all over the hospital, I may do a close observation one day, on a floor another day or monitoring a group of people via a monitor. I have choices, most of the staffing people know I've had surgery and can accommodate me well.

There was no reason for the nurse to be rude though.

Hey all, been off for a few days. Yesterday was my first day on soft solids which is pretty much our life long diet besides waiting a few more weeks until we could introduce raw veggies and more meat. Hamburger didn't go down well for me, it could have been a bit too dry so I will have to try that again later. I had 1/2 C of chicken chewed really well with 1/4C of mashed potatoes yesterday. That went down so well and was heavenly! I broke my stall and have gone down 3 lbs so far, will weigh again next Friday. I start work on Monday (CNA and heavy lifting). Today I'm taking my kids trick or treating so I will be walking quite a bit. Congrats to the folks who made it o I t of Surgery this last week, may healing be speedy and uneventful. Today is the last day of October surgeries! We all did it! Blessings going out to Layknee and Bronxmerci that they have a very, Very uneventful November and future as they have been struggling.
-
Right after surgery I gained up to 253 from 242. I lost that in a week and a half then went down to 229 until I stalled. It is totally normal at this point since you're swollen due to the surgery.
-
Tomorrow marks my 4 weeks post op. I get to have soft solid foods! I go to work next Monday. Pretty nervous about that since I have to be able to lift 50 lbs.
-
Yay you survived Beni. Now on to the rest of your new life!

Good luck today Ladies! You will all pull through this!

"You're not even that big... I think you need to be like 600lbs..." Wait..WHAT?!
AuriP replied to MrsB2007's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I honestly would never feel comfortable going to that office, specifically if that person was still working there. I have my days where I really want to complain about it to my husband but since I would never want to be complained about in that capacity I refrain. I don't understand how a lot of health care workers don't take this more seriously. Thank you for your insight MsUjima. -

Actually I got this from the Government website. I'm sure his weight was placed in his chart thus everything placed in his chart is protected by Hippa and he violated it by discussing it with a non approved 3rd party namely OP. What Information Is Protected Information your doctors, nurses, and other health care providers put in your medical recordConversations your doctor has about your care or treatment with nurses and othersInformation about you in your health insurer’s computer systemBilling information about you at your clinicMost other health information about you held by those who must follow these laws -

My job said that no matter what even if you don't use identifiers, you are violating HIPPA. You never know who is friends or family to some people. For all he knew that guy could have been a cousin, a close friend, co worker, a number of things. And he did use identifiers by specifying how big this person was, it's not like 600 lbs is that hard to see from a person. It is very descrptive. -
Happy Birthday. I just has my surgery this month and my birthday is in April so roughly 6 months from surgery. I'm hoping to be a size 12 by then. I can't wait to go birthday shopping!
-
I feel you there. Day 11 of a stall, I assume. I haven't weighed myself because I'll get depressed. I'm not going to weigh in until Thursday which will make 2 weeks of a stall if I don't lose.

Glad you're getting taken care of. My mom had a stroke because of a wayward blood clot so it is serious business. When I started birth control as a teen they checked my clotting factors because of my mom's strike history. Keep up girl. We're praying and sending good vibes your way.

Good luck today Beni. You have been waiting for this day for so long. It seemed so far away in the beginning of October and now is here and has come by faster than expected. Can't wait to hear from you and the other Gladiators later today!

That guy seriously violated HIPPA by talking about his 600lb patient. That was seriously inappropriate. I feel bad for the 600 lb dude. -
PREGNANT AND ONLY 1 MONTH POST OP!
AuriP replied to Sensarah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan says 18 months not 24 so hers might be like mine. Also not everyone does well on Birth control. Birth control is how I ballooned nearly to the weight I am. I have tried many, many birth control methods and none ever was a permanent thing I could do. To the OP good luck on your pregnancy. Tell your surgical team and have them work with the OB/GYN you choose. -
I cried like a baby 4 days post op. I made it worse on my pain because of the crying. It is totally Okay to cry, we are making life altering decisions and are hoping for a favorable outcome.
