My mom (who had RNY about 5 years ago) and I split a chicken enchilada Smart Ones lunch this week lol I didn't even touch the rice and there was still over 1/2 the rice left when we were done lol Yes eating is so much cheaper now I would have laughed to if my husband said he had dinner while I was in the bathroom lol

  5. An I wrong in consigning some of my nicer clothes? I figure at the right shop, I can consign nicer items, get a little more in store credit to help me purchase some transition clothes. We all have soooo much $$ tied up into this weight loss.

Yeah, I think everything but the green bean casserole has butter in it lol (and that could to..my sister gets that ready while Im fussing with last minute details lol)

    What I Hate!

People that ask why, are people that A. Don't have to worry about their weight or B. haven't tried to lose weight seriously for themselves. People that say "you're taking the easy way out" are just uneducated. If you are being open about having the surgery...maybe try educating them on all the work pre op AND post op. my youngest brother was the ONLY person who made these statements. (He is and always has been a stick..but he runs 3 miles daily so...) After I educated him on my weight loss struggles over the past decade and showed him my booklet of rules, requirements etc. for the sleeve, he shut his mouth. I can't wait to see him when he gets married next year, and I can't wait until be sees I did it and Im happy. And people telling you that are just big boned are A. In denial about their own weight lol or B. are patronizing you because they don't know what else to say. This is a GREAT time to find out who your true friends are though lol

    Call me <evil> but...

Lol, yeah the heels make me chuckle every time. Those type of women are definitely not anything I plan on being like. Those women make my husband laugh too. (I think he secretly finds them cute, but he wouldn't get along with them well even if he had to.) He likes woman that are very independent and competent lol I will continue to rock my flip flops (in all weather but rain...including snow lol), jeans, school color shirt, and my Panthers visor. Im a loud screaming mom (usually don't have my voice the rest of the night lol), not a too cutesy to be on the field mom.

    Call me <evil> but...

Ok, I have to admit I can't WAIT until football season next year! Im a football mom (and basketball and baseball mom lol), and I was practically (I think I was, but hubs says 2 moms were bigger ::rollseyes: the biggest mom on the team. There are a couple of other "smaller fat" moms, then there are the real bitches who were popular in high school and just stick thin or drop dead gorgeous. Well those woman will be super nice around me when my skinny husband is around, but wouldn't give me the time of day if he isn't around. Now, I have been super open about my surgery, and all the team parents know I had the surgery. I still can't wait though until next season when they see me sitting in a smaller lawn chair and there is still space between my waist and the arms lol I have already had one mom who used to never talk to me start trying to be my friend, but I have no interest in those types of women. I'll stick with my 3 true friends of the football moms It's also funny to me how the skinnier people in my life have mostly all suddenly started dieting (including some of said bitchy team moms). Like they are threatened by my weight loss or something. It's funny (but also kind of insulting) they feel they have to be skinnier than me. Oh well, with my awesome tool I'll show them lol

Does Anyone Else Feel Like This..?

I think it's normal to be impatient about seeing results (and to not believe you will be successful). We spent a lot of time being involved with this process even before the surgery. Some of us (like me), have even dumped a ton of $$ into this as well ($25,000 for me and that doesn't include lost wages for being off work for 6 weeks, or time I missed going to doctor appt's.). Im 10 weeks post op and down about 45lbs. I can feel the difference, but can't see it. I really worry about that not seeing it part. I got down to 180 over a decade ago and I felt just as fat then as I do now (251). That is a mentality issue that I think can really hinder our true success and happiness. Is it completely normal though, I think for a lot of us. I think most of us fear we will be the ONE that fails at this. Just remember to be mindful of your eating, try to identify what causes you to reach for the bad foods (or reach for food when you aren't hungry) and most importantly...Try to love yourself more and be forgiving when needed. We are all going to slip up at times. We have get right back up and dust off though. We can't dwell on it, and we have to move forward. This surgery has taught me to reflect in my actions more than I ever did before. So try being really happy about those loose pants or growing further from the steering wheel etc. That's what is getting me through even though I can't see a difference in myself

    Sex?

Rough wild crazy inhibition free sex is all fine, dandy, and really fun after surgery lol Getting pregnant...well that can certainly be a result of the above said activities lol My center recommends 2 years before getting pregnant. My surgeon and I talked about that and he really doesn't want to see me ever get pregnant due to the amount of abdominal surgeries I've had (the likelihood of me having to have a c-section is high). Oh well, hubs is totally against another kid anyway, so if I feel the need for cuteness maybe I start babysitting on the side lol FYI I had sex about 2 weeks post op, and my incision sites were a little tender after, but nothing that I was even remotely alarmed about.

Lol I always go in a "light outfit"...and I will be wearing my flip flops instead of my big honkin tennis shoes.
  16. I stalled for 12 days starting in week 2, and then stalled again for a week at 6 weeks out. Im 10 weeks post op and as of this morning Im down 45lbs! Keep the faith no matter how hard. It WILL come off. We are all so beaten up emotionally about the scale moving down due to our issues with weight it's hard to have faith in losing when we have all gained so much before. Just keep looking up success stories and think positive!

    Bowels

The first 6 weeks after surgery I had the di di's like you would not believe. The PA at my surgeons office was surprised and said that was rare though. Most people according to her are bound up beyond belief. Well, about week 6 or 7 when I started eating pretty normal again, I joined forces with the rest. Im going to have to start taking something for it, because aim only going about twice a week now :/

    Prilosec And Miralax

I never had acid problems before surgery....after though, it's been a different ball game. If I forget to take my Prilosec for a few days, I really really pay for it. Then I take a Prilosec and within a few hours Im back to normal. It has worked miracles for me. I have no idea about the Miralax, and interested in seeing if it helps people. I was actually having the opposite problem for the first 6 weeks. But the last month, Im only going like twice a week :/ It's a bit uncomfortable lol
  25. That is absolutely heartbreaking ::hugs:: I hope God brings you and your entire family peace with time. Im sure your sister will be looking down on you to see your success and her beloved family.
