  1. I'm a teacher so although I'm on my feet it's only 7 hours and I can sit if needed... I'm hoping to go back ASAP or getting really lucky and this process will go quickly and ill get a kind surgeon who will schedule me on one of the Holliday breaks!!!!
  2. So I'm in San Jose, CA with Nor Cal Kaiser and Im just staring. I met with my general doctor today, have blood work tomorrow, have overview meeting on October 5th, and then she will refer me to surgeon which is in Fremont CA...... I'm excited and she said it could be as early as 2 months!!!!!!
  3. U look awesome... I hope I can follow in your shoes
  4. Ok so in so new I haven't seen a doctor but u guys are making me feel better... So you can eat cheese sticks and nuts months after being sleeved? I was beginning to thjnk you could never eat real food again and I be eating just plain protein shakes the rest of my life
  5. Weight watchers, medifast, green tea, 17 day diet, herbal life, my latest diets have been HCG injections I bought online from India ( I got desperate this year) and this last obsession was with beach bodies shakeology.... Which is damn expensive for a shake..... So I see my doctor Friday to start this process.... She recommended it through email..... Very nervous!!!!!
  6. I haven't had surgery but I've been on a cruise and honestly you will be having so much fun food won't be as big of an issue... Alcohol might be :-( but the food is good but not all that... I was so busy I forgot to eat every meal... I made it a goal to maintain weight on the cruise not lose and not gain.... Enjoy the cruise they are fantastic.... I think you need to take each meal as the come but don't stress over the food.... Careful with the drinks they hand u one as u walk onto the boat.... Lol!
  7. I lost my first son at 20 weeks....I just kept repeating to myself "we were going to have a baby but we had an angel instead" ... The pain hurts ... Allow yourself up grieve.... Hug your little girl and go through the grieving process...
  8. Thanks guys ... You made me smile... I'm a teacher and I squeeze between desks all the time only to knock stuff down with my butt!!!!!! I must look really stupid doing that over Andover
  9. I thought it would be fun to list the little things people take for granted being thin obviously it's for health but here is my others why I can't share out loud for fear of embarrassment Ride roller coasters Shop at gift stores for souvenirs like a cute shirt/jacket Clipping/painting toenails Wipe my butt and feeling clean afterwards walking farther than the kitchen Helping my kids potty train Sitting cross cross in the floor Sitting in a booth Have one/two sizes of clothes not all Not being twice the size of my spouse
  10. I'm looking for a book/ info that can explain the pre op and post op diet and life style restrictions so I know what I am getting in to..... Please advise
  11. Thanks buffleheads! That's was my point of the original post! It's taken a lot for me to ask my doctor for help because I "want to do it on my own" and have done it twice I. The past.....but now I know I need help because I've been losing the same 15 lbs for the last year .... Thanks for the encouragement and help!
  12. So I do feel kind of guilty and am in the first week of seeking medical help with my weight... But I am learning to look at my life and I've watched hours of you tube testimonials and realize this is just as hard as dieting without it.... I've been overweight since I could remember .... I started weight watchers the first time at 7 at 140 lbs..... I've been up to 350 three times in my life... I've lost 155 lbs to gain 110'lbs back 4 years later. Lost another 100 lbs to be in a wedding... As soon as I took that bridesmaid dress off the weight piled on.... And then my weight has crept back up through the trials of life And success.... I never feel full and sometimes I never feel hungry.... I'm not sure what's wrong with me in that respect... I'm doing the surgery if I get approved for me and my kids.... It's time to let my pride go and get the help I need ... I love being active but my weight is hindering me from succeeding as im always in pain.... I'm convincing myself I need this and I want to share it with go workers so they know that although I laugh at myself because I'm on a different diet every month...I'm trying and do want help... And maybe they will understand why I don't need temptations....
  13. Norther CA ... I didn't even know they covered it until my doctor mentioned I should consider it in an email...
  14. Yea I'm in northern CA....
  15. Thanks... How long did it take from ur interest in the sleeve to kaiser performing surgery? Online I found 6 months.... Is that accurate?
  16. So I'm an elementary school teacher and I want to do this so bad now but I didn't realize the process took so long..... I'm thinking since I have Kaiser in San Jose CA I might get surgery in 6months :-(.... Which will put me at Easter break.... Do you think two weeks will be enough and then I can return to work? I do better with structure so I really don't want to wait til summer .... This mean I will get 1 week off for Spring break and will have to take 5 days sick leave....
  17. I'm not sleeved yet but I'm training my mind now because I have the same fear and I've just admitted to myself I do like food.... But I know I will love being able to do more like go on vacations and not be tired from just packing the car, going to the park, going out in public with my husband, buying clothes and being able to wear more than just my fat clothes, living life to the fullest with my kids,,,, I can't wait to get this started so I can finally live life and eat to fuel my events not just live to eat :-)!
  18. I wish I knew that answer.... I'm always thinking about food.... What not to eat, what to eat, what I should or should not be feeding my kids, and then there's my 130 lb husband always asking if I'm hungry... I haven't even started this process yet.....
  19. Thank u so much for all the info... I'm trying to be prepared as much as possible.... I'm in San Jose Ca and my luck with kaiser and appointments has been awful... I have a 2 yr old and a 1 year d so I'm making sure I have coverage for this journey.... Thanks again!!!!
  20. You can buy premier protein in ready made cans, singles at Trader Joes, I liked them back in my younger days when I was a gym rat.... Now I'm a couch potato :-(!!!!!
