    I'm hungry

My banding is not due until Sept. 10 and I ahve ben doing real well on my diet and sticking to the slim fast with protein however I ran out so I started using this high protein power I bought at the store and using that in place of the slimfast, well all I can say is that ti makes me so hungry. I am really working hard to not eat as in the past. My other concern is that in a few weeks I will being my liquid diet it will be an 800 calorie diet. 2 glucerna shakes per day for my meal I can have broiled beef, chicken, fish, pork, eggs and vegetables. No carbs at all for snakcs I can have sf jello sf popcicles, mozzarella cheese sticks lean turkey sf yogurt and sf pudding or protein bar. Yep all 800 calories for two whole weeks and it will be rough becuse I am a type 2 diabetic and well having no carbs can cause me a lot of prblems with low blood sugar. I am getting really worried

  10. Isn't the calorie or sugar content high in this product. I get confused and I am diabetic so the sugar is a no no for me I can say one thing since I lost 22 pounds on my own my fasting glucoses level is perfect. Been on slim fast high protein for about two weeks or so now and exercsing my butt off and it shows too!
  11. how many times a day do you have your shakes? I will have to drink 2 per day and then I can have broiled/backed chicken breast, fish, lean turkey and some vegs and that is it I am to remain on an 80 calorie high protein diet for 2 weeks and since I am diabetic I have to drink glucerna for weightloss for diabetics and that stuf is so thin, maybe by adding some protein power and a few ice cubes might help any suggestions? I am open. I have lost so far 22 pounds on my own and yes giving up my old lifestyle has been hard but I am doing it and that is what matters is just doing it.
  12. My hubby asked me the same thing why have surgery since your losing weight now and following what the Dr. ordered and my reply was and is well one day I might get hungry and eat and then back comes the weight. The band is our tool and it will help keeps us under control; as long as we help it. Here is a plus for me I am off work during the summer months because I work for a school district here in Texas, well I stopped in yesterday and well I got double takes and Sharon is that you? gosh you look good and your face it is so small and did you have your surgery and I said nope not until September and the reply was the say why have the surgery if your losing weight, well my job can be stressful being a school bus driver with special needs little ones and I an a stress eater so the less stress the less I would eat so now I amm learning to control then stress and control my food intake as well. If I look good now wonder what I will look like after weightloss I cannot wait.
  13. I work out at home too now for walking I get a great work out by going to walmart don't laugh now..I grab a cart and I am off and I wear my walking shoes and I am all over that store like grease lightening and I found out that there are other walkers there too. I spent an hour today walking quickly back and forth but I actually walk in the park. I ahve a pair of great walking shoes that put a spring in my step. I also have a treadmill at home but it is not the same as real walking and I have a Gazell glider and that things can really get you going. I do pilates and my middle is getting smaller and my legs are slimming out now keep in mind I am having the banding to help me lose weight and I am on a roll before hand. I have lost just about 20 pounds so far in the past month or so just on determination. I think from what I been reading here is that we all seem to be or try to be on the right track.

    Perscribed PT

:car:hi everyone, well I have been reading my notebook that I was given and well it is eye opening reading for usre. Always finding out something else you are required to do after surgery. I will be given a perscription to go to the on site PT classes and have someone hover over me as I work out and it is free but I have my oun gym here at home. I ahve the treadmill, a gazell low impact glider that is wonderful for I can even get to the troubled inner thighs. I do pilates and a few other things all in my own home it is not like I live close to the clinic that I am going to and I just can't get there every day what to do what to do it will work out I am sure of that, maybe I can take the script to the local gym in my area and maybe they can help me if they know what I am supposed to be doing. Did anyone else get a script to a PT exercise class if so how was it and what all do you do? Let nosey me know. Thanx Sharon:car:

    Cancelling Lap band

Wow talk about a rollercoster ride I have had since last Friday. Well this is what I was told by the bariatric Center, now there is the center then there is the billing center yep confusing to me too! well any I was told that the Dr. hospital etc are In-Plan crontractors sort to speak, and yes the insurance company will cover the entire thing except for my co- payment of 40.00:clap2:which I knew all along but there are some insurance providers that do not cover this up front fee but mine does and I was resurred that firstcare has covered all other bariatric surgerys 100% that thre was never a problem of getting them to pay anything as long as it is in plan and well it is but I am playing the waqiting game for the bariatric Group to call me bank and confirm everything and I will ask to get it wither in writing or by e-mail to place in my file. Thanks everyone for your comments it did help me. I seen my employer today to tell him of my up coming surgery adneverything pertaining to it and it went real well, he said no problem and get this is daugther had her lap band done and lost 85 pounds in a year and they forund her sweet spot right from the get go and only had to have one fill lucky gal she was.

    Large band VS Small Band

I was told that some people have thicker areas than others and usually only men or people weighing over 600 lbs gets these
  19. Between Friday and Saturday I almost talked myself out of this but today I feel a lot better The bariatric Group that will be doing my surgery said that they are not members or providers under my insurance and well according to my insurace in black and white yes they are the letter I got from the bariatric Group said I woul;d be responsible for what the insurance will not pay but according to my insurance as long as they are in my HMO paln and they all are that I will never see a claim and I will not have to pay out anything other than my co payment for the hospital well after reading that letter i just got depressed for I don't have 3500.00 so I have to wait until tomorrow to clear this all up and all I have been doing is crying and not eating

    Diabetic Bandsters?

r u still taking your meds for your diabetes?
  21. Hi I was approved for my band and due to have surgery on Sept. 10 My insurance company lists that my Dr. is on their in plan and his name is even in my health plan manual along with a lisiting of all the other bariatric surgeons/general surgeons in thier group for they fall under the same address at least. Well anyway yesterday I got in the mail a letter from the Bariatric Group telling me that I need to sign the enclosed document in order for them to submit the claim to my provider which is no problem however as I am reading this over and over again not to miss anything I read the partWaco Bariatric Surgeons and physicans are non-participating providers with insurance companies for bariatric services and in order for me to have the surgery I need to pay up front 3500.00 for the surgeon and his assistant surgeon and it includes two pot op visits. But according to my provider yes they are covered under my plan and I have a letter stating just that and a fax from them too! Ok now here is the real kicker at the seminar I attended in March, we were all told that the fees paid will cover 1 year free fills, and that all the visits were included this was discussed several times by other people at the seminar. Wow now what do I do I don't have the money and cannot afford another bill coming in and I am just so confused and thinking of not having the surgery even ifg the insurance does cover it all due to the stress and the un known after surgery as to the costs. I just need to vent here but i still don't feel better. I will call my insurance company on Monday and tell them of this and see what they ahve to say and I am contacting the bariatric center as well. Seems really odd that no one mentions certain things at the seminar but now after insurance approval comes through tehre is a whole list of thigs I have to do and buy before surgery. Wow. Well thanks for listening. Sharon

    Spend the night?

did you have the REY or the lapband
  24. sharon2u

    Spend the night?

Spending the night...I was told that I would be spending the night however if the Dr. felt that I was handling everythng OK that I could possible go home later that day, now here is the kicker. If I would have gone in as out patient I would have not had to have my insurance company approve the surgery for it is an in house provider and my co pay would have been 200.00 but since I was staying the night I had to get approved by my insurance company which is alright too and my co pay would have been 150.00 I am going to spend the night I think I would feel better in the long run.
