- My surgeon told us that there is a nerve that gets impacted just after surgery that can cause flushing and heating. Not sure if it can get inflamed again or be reactive for other reasons??? Maybe some swelling pushing on something?

It is so personal. I bought Muscle Milk from costco too, before surgery and after surgery I HATED it and I still have a huge bag. I do like the Premier Protein which they have at costco. It is the only one I can/could drink. I'd say buy some small taste packs and wait until after surgery if you don't want tons of stuff left that you don't drink... I mostly felt that the Protein drinks were all too sweet for me... or had a horrible after taste. It is trial and error.
Good luck.

I think I am going to try it. There are some brands that look good. It says you can go online and cancel any time... I think it would be great for me as my size is changing a lot right now and you can send back clothes and ask for a smaller size whenever...

Yes. I am having trouble too. Very slow.

I take the same dose of effexor xr. I took the pill on the morning of surgery, I didn't take the pill the day after surgery but the next day I did. I just took the pill with Water - nothing else. I have been taking them since (5 weeks out) and doing fine. I was worried to because of the horrible withdrawal side effects I get. But no problem here. Hope this helps. Oh and I didn't crush or anything because they don't work as xr if you do that.

Cottage cheese saved me... I couldn't get down a lot but I could get it down and I do like it. I did progress to refried Beans, eggs, ricotta etc. I had to still drink a Protein Drink because I couldn't get down enough soft food! I don't enjoy much of it, but it is keeping me alive!

I had a very sore IV spot on my left hand. That IV soreness lasted longer than the soreness from surgery! I'd say if it isn't getting worse, and doesn't seem infected it is probably normal. I think mine lasted like 10 days!

I also have and incision right between my breasts and one on the left side although a bit lower. I thought they might interfere with my underwire bra but they didn't. You'll just have to see how your body shape is with where the incisions are. I'd say plan on being OK with the ones you wear but be flexible if you have a couple different styles - one might be OK, the other not.
-
I also take capsules and have since 1 week out - with no problems.

My pants must sit low because they didn't bother my incisions! I am 3.5 weeks out and my largest incision still aches sometimes - but I do agree that a bit of pressure might help. I did have lots of tenderness rolling over through to the end of the second week. After that, it was much better.
Hope you are feeling better soon!

Sleeved 10/26
HW 315
SW 303
weight 11/11 285
I have acid too. I tried zeigrid (sp) - the nurse recommended it. It has been excellent and better than all the others I tried.
Haven't lost any weight in almost a week... but I am trying to ignore that!
I am getting in my Protein but not sure about enough calories (I seem to get about 500 per day but I am trying to push that up.)
Glad to read all the posts here!

Hi
Was sleeved Oct 26. The first week I lost 16 pounds but only 1 pound the second week. Not to sure why either, but I am trying to be patient. I agree that it is hard to get in more than 500 calories, but luckily I am getting in the Protein...
Hope it passes for all of us - I am sure it will.

I have an extended release antianxiety and my surgeon told me just to keep taking it normally (it is not a small pill!). I have done that for 10 days so far with no problem.
-
I had surgery Oct 26 and I am on liquids - can have Protein Drinks, Soup (only well blended) and well-blended smoothies, Jello or Water. Not sure if I am getting in all the Protein, but trying! I am afraid to drink too much, and afraid to drink not enough!! I do feel better than the first week when I was on Clear Liquids only...

Was sleeved Oct 26 - it was a good experience. No problems at all (other than nausea which is really a bummer!) If anyone wants more info please let me know.

If one has had previous allergies to adhesive I assume the chances are high they will react to Steri strips? Is this what people are experiencing? Did most of you know you were allergic to adhesive before hand? I have had allergies to adhesive that were super unpleasant - even in a small bandaid I react - so I am hoping they can come up with an alternative for me... although not sure what!

No clue why they separated it - but that was the way I was given the quote...

If you get what you pay for then you get a rich hospital!! When I inquired at the hospital near me in Indiana the surgeon wanted 6000 but the hospital 20 000 dollars!!! Truth is, you really just get ripped off by the hospitals and not by the surgeons...so not sure what you pay for, but the surgeon isn't really expensive.
No more coffee for me

I was a huge coffee lover pre-surgery. After surgery I hated coffee for 2 months. It made me feel so ill. But in my 3rd month I tried it again, and I am back to being a coffee lover! I am actually very happy because not drinking coffee was hard on my psyche. It is associated with happy thoughts, times with my family and friends etc. Now I have to monitor not to have too much coffee and especially not to have too much milk everyday in my coffee!!
