  1. I think it's especially damaging to our fragile in transition psyches when this competition takes place here. <br> Yesterday was a day of behind the scenes comparisons.. I felt a comparison and competition where there should be none. <br> I am older? I am lazy? Yes you've done better than me? <br> Which one? I will say it. To be free of the comparison that does nothing but tear down my own personal success. <br> Or was that the intent.. <br> Be proud, and I will be proud. You are not me, I am not you..

Honestly I think you have done great. Not only with your weight loss success, but with your one on one advice with other people. That truly means a lot to other people when you take the time to help them and give your to cents. Um, not sure if you've noticed but people look up to you around here. ;) So maybe people want to "One Up" you around here, they don't stand a chance!!! Your the whole package baby! Don't let ignorance bring you down. I've told you before I can't wait to walk a day in your shoes, except I will have lots of cellulite, and well some veins, and well the list goes on!! Lol

  2. Yes, Nov 1st!! Thanks for the encouraging words. For now I will lay on the bed and suck in my gut and wait for my size 12 jeans to fit nicely! ;)

Size 12? Oh you might of started smaller than me! I started as a size 20/22 and one pair of pants was a 24 also (yikes) pant.. I wear an average of an 8 juniors jeans now :) Girl you might disappear in a year!

Haha disappear, not. I started my journey on 7/29 at 250lb! I am 5'5. I thought I was 5'5 1/2 LOSER!! Anyway day of surgery 216 and today 200. I tried on an old pair of Eddie Bauer jeans (Yuck) and they were a size 12!! They fit but were a tad bit snug. It's ok. I hate those jeans anyway. Good excuse to buy new ones.

  3. That's awesome!!! Congrats!! Right now to me that seems like a dream....;).

You're a November girl right? I was a November girl last year .. It took me a year to get to this point.

Just think this time next year, you will be right where I'm at. Trust me, this year has flown by too!

Yes, Nov 1st!! Thanks for the encouraging words. For now I will lay on the bed and suck in my gut and wait for my size 12 jeans to fit nicely! ;)

  4. BTW you look pretty darn good by you pic!! You really don't look like you need to lose any more weight. Do you mind me asking how far are you from goal??

Lol I had to go look because my ticker is missing in action here..

    I'm 14 pounds away from goal :)

That's awesome!!! Congrats!! Right now to me that seems like a dream....;).

  5. She might of been referring to me,<br> No goal laura-ven :P

BTW you look pretty darn good by you pic!! You really don't look like you need to lose any more weight. Do you mind me asking how far are you from goal??

  6. So I have a history of Hair loss with weight loss, this is nothing new. I am kind of glad because at least I have already had all those terrified search queries, tried all the shampoos, joined the hair loss forums.... So really I feel pretty prepared for this, but still, it sucks. This is 3 showers worth and doesn't count everything at my bathroom sink, in my brush, on my sweater, in dinner.... dde09

You have my sympathy!! I don't wish anyone to have hair loss of any kind. I understand it may happen to us that have this surgery but it doesn't make it any easier to actually see it when it does happen. I am 2 weeks post-op and I am not looking forward to having hair loss but I know it is a real possibility. Good luck!!!

  7. The site will be going down later this eve for a few hours while we complete the upgrade. See you on the other side....

Hi, I'm I'm on the other side and I have to tell you it's causing a lot of problems!!! I have lost most of my past conversations with people and threads that I have subscribed to do not let me open the next page, it just gives me an error message! This is a bummer as I really enjoyed the site the way it was before. Now it seems to be more work then it's worth!

  8. Yes just use a cheap watery sauce <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> Most people rave about the ricotta bake.. I've never tried it (I'm lazy) Shelly's Baked Ricotta 8 oz of Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 large Egg' date=' beaten 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning salt & pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave. Also refried Beans and cheese. Oh and deviled ham (underwood) in the can <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Laura thanks for all the help!! Between you and a couple of others that should get me through the two weeks! You really should start charging for your advice you would be one rich lady!!

  9. I puree chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy. I buy the mashed already fixed at the grocery store...Country Crock or Simply Potatoes. I took 1 ounce of a Rib Eye steak and pureed it with brown gravy and potatoes. Tonight it is crock pot chicken' date=' sweet and sour sauce pureed with instant rice. I also pureed tuna noodle casserole with some milk. YUM! Texture! Cut it up very small and I use a hand held blender in a coffee cup. Works great.[/quote']

Ok you ROCK!! Thank you!! While am sitting here sipping my lovely Water and wondering when I should sip my next Unjury chicken broth...this is giving me hope. My mouth could really use a different taste it's getting pretty dead in there UGH!! ;(

  10. I had surgery oct. 29 th. And I'm down 15 pounds today I started at 216 and I'm now 201

You should be so proud of your weight loss!! I read some of your posts and I am so sorry you having a hard time!!! Although I am getting through this fine, I can relate to all of your thoughts because I have the same ones, for some reason they just haven't gotten to me yet!! You will get thru this hopefully sooner than later. We are all here for you. Good luck ;)

  11. Really guys I said to my nut that I would NEVER eat purée! I even bought some meat baby food to eat instead.. The dog got a very good meal that night <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> When it came down to it? I ate purée with glee! It was warm savory (because I was sick of sweet) And comforting. I did things like chicken and gravy or meatloaf gravy and watery instant mashed potatoes. Or You can do a meatball and red sauce <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

So the meatball and red sauce... You can get that to the consistency of applesauce?? I cannot wait till Friday!!! Thanks so much for the ideas!! Anymore??

  12. Hi' date=' I'm a chronic pain sufferer and for Constipation I take a prescription called Lactose. Tastes like a Pina Colada and works great!! Turns it into baby poo and it just slides rite out!! lol[/quote']

I agree it does work well, but mine does not taste like Piña Colada!! It tastes like thick liquid sugar. What pharmacy do you get yours from??? I want mine to taste like that!! ;). Did you take yours right after surgery?

  13. Had my surgery on Oct. 17th and am down 26 lbs.... Its been the best thing I have ever done. Have been on pureed food for a week now and in one more week I will go to soft food. I have so much energy its unreal... I wonder if anyone else has sampled small bites of real food? This surgery has gone so flawless for me that its hard to believe that I have ever had it. I neverhave any pain and 2 oz. of food just does not cut it sometimes.. more like 3-4 oz?

So do you have any good recipes for us that are puréed ?? Btw good job on the weight loss!! I have not sampled any food as I do not want any complications. I am playing it by the book. I have been blessed so far I am not about to blow it!!

  14. I had my surgery October 28 an I've lost 19lb. Everything went well in my surgery an still doing good I didn have a lot of pain just when I got out bed the first time at the hospital other then that I'm good

Wow you lost 19 lbs in 9 days that is awesome!!! Good for you. I have lost 8 lbs and I had surgery on Nov 1st!! Maybe you should stick to your liquids a little while longer ;) jk! Sounds like we are doing about the same we are very fortunate. I hate it when I hear that others are having troubles because I know that could have been me!
