  1. Sorry read that wrong.

At my pre op visit they did a EKG, blood drawn, urine taken, and a chest xray...well all that was done at the hospital. They explain to you what you have to do to prep for surgery also. At my doctors pre surgical approval visit. They reviewed the information from the pre op visit at the hospital. Doctor listened to my heart and asked my alot of questions. Then Basically I was approved by her to go for surgery.

    Im having surgery tomorrow morning

  2. I am! Really ready for Monday to get here. It has been a long journey to get to this day. Looking forward to the next step in getting healthy.

Your not joking about a long journey! Im getting sleeved in Long Island, NY. Good Luck! Ill keep in touch and let you know how it goes. Im off work for 6 weeks so I have plenty of time to recover. What about you?

Where are you having your surgery? I am in Cedar Falls, IA

  3. It took me about a month to do all the pre op requirements. The office submitted on Monday and Thursday the same week I was approved. I have Empire bcbs, Anthem. Oo and my surgery date was given to me on my first visit with the surgeon after the seminar. They said if I wasnt approved by then, the date would change. Good thing I did lol. It seems all the offices operate so differently. Good Luck! I hope you get a date soon!

  4. Thats weird...all I had to get was a stress test, echo, and a EKG done. Then she just approved because I never had any prior heart issues. They want that insurance money smh! On a side note my insurance didnt even want to approve the ECHO because they said uh your heart is fine, you never had issues, and they felt it was a waste...but yea the doctor got it approved with a peer to peer. Sorry i ramble lol

  5. Went in for my meeting with surgeon today and I got APPROVED, like literally Monday then today APPROVAL is official.

Let me say first off, I DID NOT have to do a 6 month diet through my insurance (Empire BCBS of CA-Anthem)

I started my journey on July 18th by going to a Seminar. My first visit with the surgeon was July mid 20's. He told me ALL the requirements. I finished them all by August 31th, except for Echo, but thats only needed for cardiovascular clearance.

    Pre-op requirements

Letter of recommendation from Primary Care stating medical necessity

    Pulmonary Clearance

sleep Study ( I ended up doing 2 because the first one showed i had slight sleep apnea)

    Endoscopy (found mild hiatal hernia)

    Full Blood Work

    Cardiovascular Clearance (echo, stress test)

Arterial Doppler and Sonogram of Organs

    Psychological Evaluatiion

I had started doing 6 month supervised JUST IN CASE they denied me, but i didnt..wasnt a waste. I learned alot

Today I started a partial Optifast pre op diet. Basically a shake for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner something healthy and light, also one snack bar during the day. that's for one week. Next week I will start the FULL liquid Protein shake diet. MY surgery is the 21 of OCT.

    YAY!!

Currently pigging out on Chinese food...IM starting this diet TOMORROW morning :/
