  1. Thank you Maltese Gal. I know I read so many post surgery updates and they helped me so much. I'm trying to do the same for others of course everyone is different but it always helps.
  2. Well I'm at home now. I must say I wish they had kept me in the hospital one more day, I feel fine but in the hospital they are constantly checking on u so u know for sure u were OK and there's help if u need. I decided to sleep in the sofa I can't lay down flat on the bed because it would be hard to get up. ( I'm a single mom and by the time I wake up one of my kids to help me up if I have to go to the bathrooms lol) I'm afraid of getting dehidrated so I got my water bottle and a also diluted light white grape juice. The light grape diluted feels good going down. I noticed room temperature feels better going Down. I'm getting hiccups gotta find out if other people gets them and why so I can try avoiding getting them cuz it hurts. Pain is at a level 2 Only when I drink do I feel discomfort. Well that's it for now will I update tomorrow. Thanks everyone for their support. PS. Have not weighed myself since I'm bloated and still a little swollen but day of surgery I was 237. Nite nite
  3. I'm going home today. I did not need the morphine but they did put toradol w the iv and that was great. On a scale my pain was about a a 4. However I started coughing and that hurt. I finally got my jello and it took me about 40 minutes to finish it I feel bloated. I avoided the morphine because that stuff is too strong and I know it would have given me nausea. My pain was not as bad. Walked a little more and took gas-x strips. ChapStick is a MOST. Thank u all. Let's hope I do as well at home.
  4. Two little cups of medicine filled w water down and I feel so bloated. And now I have three in front of me, have no idea how I'm gonna Get them down but I most cuz after this I get jello. It feels weird in your tummy.no horrible pains yet. Looks like I have High tolerance for pain.
  5. Did a whole lot of walking. No gas pain yet And I don't feel like burping or passing gas lol. So far so good let's hope it stays that way. Next I'll be drinking let's see how it goes. I will update. PS. I tried bending cuz I dropped something. Bad idea. Lol
  6. Doing good so far. And I'm waiting for nurse to come in and ask her if I can walk I don't have gas pains but my back is killing me from being in this bed for 24 hrs. Later I get to drink. Let's dee how that goes. Thank u eveyone for the good wishes. I'm still singing the happy song.
  7. No pain medicine needed yet. But I'm confused they are not making me walk and I thought they would give u liquids the 1st day but apparently it's not till the 2nd day. I'm feeling good but I'm dying to drink something to see how it feels.and I want to walk to see if it hurts.
  8. No need for the pain medicine button yet I was sleeved at 730am and it's now 5pm so far so good. But they are not making me walk. Maybe tomorrow? I'm afraid that's when it'll start to hurt. No liquids whatsoever till tomorrow. My mouth is dry but I'm doing fine.
  9. I did it. I'm sleeved and doing great. No terrible gas pain yet and I want to walk but nurses said later. I didn't like that feeling of coming out of the anesthesia. It took almost two hours to be able to stay up. I have not had to use my pain button yet. Will update more later gonna nap now. Thank u guys
  10. In the hospital now. Got here too early lmao. At the waiting room all these kids eating cheetos and I'm thinking how good it would be to at least lick the cheese off of one. Lol.
  11. Opps sorry for the double post...I guess Im too happy ...lol .
  12. I'm getting sleeved today. I'm getting ready to go to the hospital. I didn't get much sleep and my stomach is in knots because I'm nervous but I am determined and I know I will be OK. I'm singing the happy song all the way to the hospital. LOL I might be singing a different song when I wake up lol but that's OK. Please sent good vibes my way and keep me in your prayers. I will try to update as soon as I can. Ps...That stuff they give you to take a shower with the night/morning before surgery actually smells pretty good. Talk to y'all later.
  13. I go into surgery tomorrow. And I have to say THANK YOU to all the people that have posted a rant or a complaint or a complication because it has prepared me. Everyone is different but I like to hear both sides. Some people need support, some just need some advise, some need someone to just listen. So I say rant away, believe me that it helps a lot of people to know what others are going through. The hair loss, the gas pain, the walking to make it better, all those things I learned from people ranting. I go into surgery tomorrow, and I will probably rant about something who knows. I know I will be doing my rant here because I am a single mom and I don't want to bother or scare my kids with my rants so this forum of "sleeved stranger friends" is where I'd be doing all my ranting...So everyone...please keep me in your prayers, and send good vibes my way...tomorrow I will be sleeved and most likely will become a RANTER...LOL
  14. Waooo Congratulations on your weight loss. I sooo needed to read this today. I go in tomorrow, and I am so nervous and anxious. I keep asking myself if this is the right thing to do...Today I decided not to read any of the post that deal with complications (I know they could happen and I've read them all) because I don't want to get more scared. Reading your post gave me encouragement. Thank you for posting. I'm sure your dad is smiling down from heaven.
  15. Yes for the first three days..It was horrible...then it gets better..Hang in there.
  16. First 3 days bad headaches, 4th day it gets better. I got the vanilla bariatric advantage powder I mixed mine with skim milk and added some Davincy sugar free syrup french vanilla it was good. I started about 4 days early just to give my body time to adjust and in case I cheated I wouldn't feel so bad. I did cheat during those first 4 days but I did it with good food. (low fat string cheese) . Good luck to you.
  17. Mine is in 2 days April 10th at University of Illinois Hosp. with Dr. Elli. I have all the feelings you mentioned, and now that it's so close I have anxiety. I just went grocery shopping for after surgery, and I bought a journal to write how I feel and what I've been eating etc... The hardest so far has been the pre-op diet. Mine was a 14 day liquid diet. I started my diet 4 days early to give myself time to adjust and in case I decided to cheat I wouldn't feel too bad about it. I did cheat during those 4 days but with good food, like light string cheese and stuff like that. Then when I started the diet and went by the book the first 3 days I had the worst headache ever, I took nothing and It went away by the 4th day. On the 7th day I cheated with Mac and cheese but after that I felt so bad I decided to stick to it. So far I've lost 6lbs. Good luck in your journey.
  18. Thanks...yes that what I was thinking of getting the veggies stage 1. That's a good idea a little bit of seasoning. Thanks
  19. Well I took a look at the baby food. The first stage food has very little carbs etc...and they come in little jars which is great because we can't eat much anyway...I think I'll be buying a few.
  20. Congratulations. Let us know how you are feeling today. :-)
  21. I've tried it before when I used to give it to my kids..I liked the carrots and the squash..LOL... But they say your taste buds change so who knows if I'll like it after surgery. I just need ideas for my grocery list for post op. I don't know if I'll be able to drive around for the first week. :-)
  22. Thank you my grocery list keeps growing..canned carrots great idea, and the sf applesauce. Im hoping to buy enough for at least a week since I wont have anyone to drive me around. Thanks .
  23. I'm thinking the organic baby food are probably low in carbs etc....
  24. LOL...I think I can it's worth a try but I will have to check the carbs, sodium etc...
  25. Is it ok to eat baby food during the soft stage and blended stage? I go to surgery 10th of April and I'm doing my grocery shopping I'm wondering if I can get baby food stage 1 or 2 , carrots, squash, green beans etc...I think this would be easier than preparing them myself. What other things should I have ready when I get back from the hospital.? Im a single mom, will have very little help because I just moved here 1 year ago and I have no family that lives near. Im stocking the fridge for the kids but any ideas as far as for me, will be greatly appreciated.
