  1. Gawsh, I really feel like I'm losing my way. I am on the soft foods stage but I absolutely hate eating and I get no joy from it! I don't have any pain or complications from the surgery (sd:10/10/13) and I'm happy about that but golly I hate eating the same things over and over and I'm scared to eat many different things due to the possibility of a gain or a stall. I know for a fact that I'm not eating enough and this frustrates the heck outta me. How did you shake the "if I can't eat what I want I'd rather not eat all" blues?

  2. I'm 7 months post op and I'm always hungry. I still don't take in more than 1500 calories a day because of the food a choose to eat and I work out every other day. Cardio is a must. I'm always in a calorie deficit. But why am I always hungry??

You might have answered your own question. The more you work out... The more your body will require fuel. You look like you're making healthy choices. Keep up the good work :)

  3. Hi guys!!!! I am 3 weeks out...23lbs down and flying to a wedding in Curaçao! Whew I'm so glad I had a speedy recovery. I still feel a little tinge here and there. But other than that I am back to normal. Wish me luck on continuing to make great choices.the best thing about this 5 star hotel is the deluxe gym...I'm gonna put it to use! Bon voyage my fellow sleevies!!

  4. I was also sleeved on Monday 10/21... I'm having a hard time with this has issue. I've walked and I feel very strong but the has just will not go away. When I eat I can feel it and it hurts for the food to go down. I'm going to try GasX and see if it helps. I also woke up sleeping on my tummy' date=' there was no pain but I'm wondering if it affects me?[/quote']

Hi!!! It will get better. It sucks in the beginning but everyday will get progressively better. Definitely try the Gas X and for me it helps if I sleep sitting straight up as if I'm in a hospital bed. I pile a bunch of folded comforters and pillows behind ma and sit up. I never slept this way in the past but it really helped after the surgery now I'm 2weeks out and I still do it. I hope this helps. Rest up!

  5. you'll find your taste buds changing lots.. you'll hate something today that you may like later and visa versa.. Just remember.. this is the best time to lose the most weight ( I really missed my window and regret that ).. so I give this advice to all newbies. stay with the program' date=' don't rush the phases (liquid, mushy, etc), start exercise as soon as you can ( check with DOC ) and most important learn new lifestyle.. and stay focused.[/quote']

Thanks so much for the advice. I am getting my head wrapped around it. But you're right I have to take advantage of these supper restrictive days and I've began my morning treadmill walks (not quite able to run yet due to sensitivity in the area where the stomach was removed) but I'm proud that I've begun exercising. I also sit on the side of my bed and do arm exercises with my 2lb weights while I'm watching tv. I'm going to a wedding next week and I say down with flabby chicken arm! Lol you are all very encouraging, can't thank you all enough :)

  6. How are you doing?

Sorry I just saw your question dear. I am doing well. It's a little hard to meet my Protein and Water requirements but such is life. I get better each and every day. I lost 22 lbs and I'm on day 14 so I can't complain. I also used to love room temperature Water but now I have to have it freezing cold with ice floating in it in order to tolerate it. Weird. Lol. Thanks for checking in. How are you!

  7. Just got approved today by my insurance. Now I am super scared. Please tell me in your opinion that I am doing the right thing or not.

You'll be fine...I was freaking out too all the way until I saw my surgeons smiling face. Then I was all geared up and ready to go. I was out for like 45 minutes and up in my room in 2hrs. Staring at my husband and family as they asked me a gazillion times if I was alright. Lol. Of course I was and you will be too. :) see ya on the post op side of this journey ! Mine was 10/10/13 if you're wondering. I'm about 12 days post op.

  8. I was on Clear liquids for the first 24 hours. Then my doctor's program calls for four weeks of full liquids' date=' four weeks of purees, and four months of soft foods. But the dietician bumped me up to purees and soft foods a week early each time because I was doing very well, no issues or complications. I'm still on soft foods for the next two months.[/quote']

Wow....that sounds super tough. But I bet you will lose weight lightening fast. Good luck on your journey!! :)

  9. OK you have learned that our Programs are very' date=' very different. I suggest that you (we) follow our program precisely. The big challenge is our fat brain and now is not the time to be creative... That comes later. Me? I was on puréed as soon as I left the hospital. Go figure.[/quote']

Lol...thanks...I'm sticking to their plan. Just wishing they email me the updated literature. I like to schedule things and I'd love to mark my calendar for the exact date soft can begin :)

  10. I was on liquids in hospital. Full liquids when I came home for 8 days. Then' date=' went to soft per my doctor at visit. On soft now.[/quote']

I want to do the liquids. I'm cool with them for now...however my dramatic mind makes me think I'm gonna reject anything nit on the plan and become violently ill. Lol. But with all of these differences I see a tiny bit of room for error. But I'm sticking to their rules....and being a good little kitty.
