  2. Well, they upped my surgery date to April 28th! I start my pre op diet on Monday. :/ I'm still going to hang out here though if that's ok . I meet with my surgeon Monday.......does anyone have ideas of good questions to ask him?
  3. Well, my surgery center called today and told me I could have my sleeve done April 29th or May 5th. I'm leaning towards the 5th. I'm just very concerned that my son's birthday is the 15th....only 10 days after and I have no idea how I'll be. :/
  4. My surgeon does not require a pre op liquid diet. I have to do a low carb, low fat 2 week pre op diet instead. Which sounds like heaven compared to liquid, lol.
  5. I'm most likely having a May surgery. Just had my dietician appt and psych eval this past week.......glad thats over! Next up.......Thursday I have to attend a support group and then I get to see the surgeon and hopefully schedule surgery Excited but nervous.. :/
  6. FYI~~Tonight there is a special on PBS "Independant Lens" called " All of me: a Story of Love, Loss and Last Resorts" it follows three women as they try to lose weight through surgery exploring society's perception of obesity and the issues and consequences they face during their varied post-op experiences.
  7. I'm just starting this journey. I went to the seminar in January and I have my dietician appt set up for next week. I'm hoping for a May or early June surgery. I'm getting very worried about the whole thing, I hope I can go through with it. :/
  8. Hi.....I keep reading that so many people had to have their gall bladder removed soon after Sleeve surgery......anyone NOT have any gall bladder issues? I'm worried I will have to go through another surgery after this. :/

  10. Does everyone have to get an EGD before sleeve surgery?
  11. So, I took the first step and attended the surgery seminar at the hospital last night. All went well until she handed me the Self Pay form.....their price is $18,500 . I went in thinking it was quite a bit lower since I have a friend who went to the same hospital for the same surgery 3 years ago and she paid much less. Not sure what to do now...........thinking of getting insurance and going that route. Where to begin though? I have to first find a company that covers it and then most likely have to follow a 6 month diet? Can anyone tell me a great company that does not require that?
  12. Thanks everyone! I appreciate the info
  13. Hello......I am taking the first step of this journey, I'm attending a weight loss surgery seminar tomorrow night. Can anyone tell me what to expect from this seminar? Obviously, I know they will be giving me a lot of info but do the surgeons attend these seminars as well? I'm not expected to speak am I? lol
  14. Thanks for the info Cindy!
  15. It turns out I have a friend that went through Bariatric Solutions in St Francis Greenville. I'm going to attend one of their seminars this month and hopefully go through them. If anyone has had their surgery there, I would love to hear from you! thanks.

  17. Hi, I'm in the Upstate and am trying to get info on both Spartanburg and Greenville surgeons. If anyone can recommend a great surgeon and if you can tell me any info on price and payment plans, I'd appreciate it. (I'm a self pay)
  18. Ok great, how do I find that forum? Not sure where I'm having my surgery yet.......going to look into Greenville and Spartanburg. Where did you have your surgery?
  19. Hello, I'm brand new to all of this and would love to hear from anyone who got sleeved in the Greenville/Spartanburg, SC area, thanks! Jessica
  20. Hello, I just saw that 2 of you ladies were sleeved by Dr Chaudhri in Greenville. I'd love to know how your experience was and also if you were a self pay, what the cost was? Thank you!
  21. I have PCOS and am worried that I won't get the weight loss need even with this surgery :/ Hoping to hear more from people with this disorder that have had successful surgeries?
  22. Hello, I'm planning on making my appt with a surgeon soon which would be my first step on this journey. Can anyone tell me what I should expect from a first visit? Also, any information I should have on hand for him? Thanks!
  23. I am battling with the same thing right now. I don't know if I should have the surgery or not. I'm 35 and was just recently diagnosed with PCOS and Insulin resistance. Since I was diagnosed, I have been following the Paleo diet as instructed but STILL can not lose the weight, I also can not exercise right now because I have Adrenal Fatigue and a bad right knee. I feel I'm too young for all this and surgery may be the answer since I believe most of my health problems will go away when I can get all this weight off. I also worry about people knowing and thinking I'm taking "the easy way out" which of course is ridiculous since I know this isn't easy by any means.
  24. thanks so much, I would be going to Spartanburg Regional but I'm sure the cost is very similar.
