  1. Sleeved 10/30/2013

    Highest weight:256

    After preop diet:250

    While in hospital after surgery:254

    Current weight:245

Goal weight: 165 or a size 8/10, whichever comes first

I'm feeling good. Some pain at the main incision on the left but otherwise ok. Looking forward to losing more weight and getting healthy. Having issues getting in liquids and Protein but taking it one day at a time. Congratulations to all October sleevers!

  2. I was sleeved yesterday around 2 or 3 pm. My surgery was delayed due to an emergency My surgeon got called to do. I was pretty calm the whole time. My hospital offered aroma therapy and they had very soft music playing in the background so that helped calming my nerves. Woke up from surgery in a lot of pain, and excruciating pain in my chest from the gas. Was given pain meds and As soon as I was in my room I did some walking and that helped so much. I slept pretty well on my back. Today in the morning I woke up with minimal gas pain and very little incision pain. What is most annoying is the nausea and occasional headaches. Meds can take care of that. So for those of you worried about the pain levels, there's really not much that can't be taken away with pain meds. Walking is extremely important for the gas. I was given some broth, Jello, tea, Italian ice and Water for dinner. The broth tasted like food for the gods and so did the ice but I couldn't eat not even half of both. Slow sips are the trick. Now I'm in bed typing this and so happy that I found this site with so many wonderful people and inspirational stories and great advice. I thank you all. I gained four pounds since surgery after losing six on my 7 day preop diet. I'm not stressed though cause I know it's all the IV Fluid. Anyway, you all take care. It feels pretty awesome finally being on the losers bench! XO to all! ;)

  3. Tomorrow is THE day. I have to be in the hospital by 7am. I am feeling all the different emotions all at once, too many to describe. Have to try to calm down and go to sleep. Goodnite everyone! Prayers for me please and all others that go in tomorrow. I am so thankful for everyone's advice and encouragement. You guys are the best! ;)

  4. I'm laying here awake at this hour excited because TOMORROW is my day.. I'm nervous..anxious and happy all at the same time. Liquids all day today and tomorrow is the start of my new life. I can't believe it's finally here. Prayers & blessing to everyone being sleeved today. May god bless and keep you.

Tomorrow is my day too. I'm not sleeping well because of the excitement also. I think the lack of carbs from the pre op diet also has my body in overdrive. Carbs are like a drug to me, make me super sluggish. We'll anyways, we are sleeve twins. I wish you the very best. Prayers up for all October sleevers!

  5. Yes, it definitely does get better. I'm on day six of seven, tomorrow I can only have Clear Liquids. Around day three-four your body adjusts so don't worry. What has helped me a lot is to keep busy and stay away from the kitchen as much as possible. And lots of Water, add some Crystal Lite if you want to change it up a bit. It will be over before you know it. Best of luck on surgery day!;)

  6. The first signs of a leak is fatigue! Next your temperature rises and continues....Then you turn white as a ghost and pass out..In my case the Fluid started to leak out of my staples....Okay' date=' went out like a sprinkler...It was very scary for me...If my grand daughter had not pushed her hands on my stomach for a hug....I would surely have been dead in the morning..It was that that started the blur of 5 months to come added to that 5 more recouping at home.[/quote']

wow! Five months? Exactly what happened? How did they repair it? I'm preop, get sleeved in four days. and would like to be prepared for the worst. Thanks for sharing!

  7. I'm on day four of seven preop diet. I get sleeved on the 30th. I see it as a test also. This definitely prepares you for sleeved life. Eat to live not live to eat. I can't wait till this is over. I keep imagining fitting into my pretty clothes again and that helps me to get through the day. We can do it! Good luck to all!

  8. I'm on day 1 of 7 preop diet. I have a headache and feel weak. I've been dealing with a lot of head hunger, my stomach is pretty much ok. I felt my mood totally change halfway through the day when my brain caught up with the fact that I will be eating this way not only in preop but for a long while during post op. The cravings monster visited me several times today reminding me of all the things I didn't have during my food funeral. So this is day 1, getting sleeved on the 30th. I just wish I could twinkle my nose and the 30th would be here. But I know this is a process, jumping into it without being mentally and physically prepared would be pretty harsh. Going to bed early to keep the cravings monster at bay. Feeling kind of low- I know it's the caffeine and carbs withdrawal. Looking for some words of inspiration.......

  9. I'm getting sleeved today. Woke up' date=' said a prayer and taking it easy before I have to head to the hospital. Feeling calm, excited and nervous at the same time. VST has been a major help in my decision to have surgery and played a great role in helping me get prepared and setting expectations. Thanks to everyone who responded to my posts, I feel ready for this. LET'S DO THIS! P.S Going under at 1:30PM Pacific time so please send your prayers/good thoughts my way. Thanks and looking forward to returning as a fellow sleever![/quote']

Awesome!! You're in my prayers! It'll be over in no time. ;)

  10. Hi wonderful and strong October sleevers!!! My original surgery date was for October 29th but it was changed to the 30th because of the Hospital. My insurance requires sleeve surgeries to be performed at a Center of Excellence so I had to change hospitals. thank God it was only a day difference because I'm ready to get this show on the road!!! I start my prop diet on the 22nd, my surgeon only requires 7 days on full liquids and the day before surgery on Clear Liquids. I'm so excited and counting the days off on my calendar to the day of my re-birth. :) wishing all sleevers the very best and that we hit our weight goals without stalls!
