Anyone experience more hip, joint, etc pain after losing weight? I'm 181 and in some ways it sure doesn't feel like it!!
Our center of gravity changes when we lose weight and we walk differently etc. Or bodies ache as it adjusts

Hi fellow Feburary sleevers! I have two questions for you guys. I was sleeved a little over 4 months ago. This past week I've been experiencing some really weird symptoms. My appetite has dropped to almost nothing and I've lost about 9 pounds in just a weeks time. I feel like after everything I eat I'm experiencing dumping syndrome, which I know is a lot less common in VSG. The best way to describe it is- my stomach gets a very mild cramp and I feel like I'm going to vomit. I have thrown up several times this week and yesterday I threw up what I believe to be bile. I feel awful after everything I eat or drink. I get really flush and hot and feel like I just need to lay down immediately. I hear a lot about gallbladder "attacks" but I don't seem to be having the sharp pain that is typically associated with those. I plan to give my doctor a call tomorrow I just wanted to know if anyone was going through anything similar? Also I've been a little hard on myself lately as far as my weight loss is going. I'd like to know if 76 pounds lost in 19 weeks is average and if I'm on trend. Don't get me wrong losing is losing and I feel AWESOME! I just want to make sure I stay on track.
The vomiting does not sound normal to me. Dumping usually involves diarrhea.
My surgery was feb 18 and I've lost exactly 70 pounds. 50 since day of surgery

Thanks SuperFab. As a nurse I tend to talk my way out of diagnoses and think, "That's not me! I'm not part of the majority!" Lol! I know that's nonsense in this case because my symptoms were straight out of a med/surg assessment book! I've not had any pain since late last night. I have an appt with my surgeon on the 17th, but I may see her at work before then.
Since it comes and goes it's easy to think "well, was that really as bad as I thought it was?" And then we let it go. Until the next time. And then it gradually gets worse until you're up all night curled into a ball popping Vicodin like Pez candies. Don't let it get outta hand because it can really cause a significant amount of pain.

It is your gallbladder and it is going to only get worse. You really need to have it looked at soon.

Hey everyone so I just need some advice or opinions! Today has been rough I am noticing I am shedding hair like crazy which makes me sad! I know that in the long run everything will be ok and hair grows back but man has it been tough! Also this is like the 5th week in a row where I am loosing a pound a week! Has anyone experienced anything like this? Should I be worried! I do see the doctor on Wednesday! But I just thought I would be loosing more a week
I was just reading and responding to a post like this. I went through a loooong stall, then lost several pounds when it broke. Then had several weeks with a loss of only a pound a week. This last week I think I lost 4 pounds. I just try to get rid of hidden carbs and sugars. Another thing is I have to walk. If I don't walk or exercise I don't lose. Also I upped my fluids so that might've also helped. It's very discouraging, but it broke into a bigger loss once I cut out carbs and upped my exercise and fluids.

Yup. I'll do that. And then when it breaks you'll start losing several pounds a week. Then a pound here n there. Then several pounds... Lol

My hair is coming out too .. Went for my 3 mo checkup today. I had been having some dizzy spells.. Apparently I'm anemic and dehydrated. I need to start taking 2 Iron pills daily and also she said I might want to take a stool softener with that .. I'm so tired of pills!! But hopefully this fixes things
I got so constipated with just ONE iron supplement that I literally could not poop. With 3 stool softeners a night and milk of mag. I was getting all of my fluids too. I had to literally stop taking iron.

Papaya enzyme has been my savior. I take 2-4 after every meal and it helps with digestion and it has made it so I have a BM every day or two. Plus it helps with that icky sicky full feeling that we experience all too often.
I drink a coffee in the morning and have one every day. At least one.

I might be shedding. I don't really know because I always shed. I am not noticing anything significant at 3 1/2 months out.

Just wanted to check in. The weight-loss is going okay I'm down 84 pounds total. but things have gotten harder in the last couple days. Saturday my husband had a stroke and has been in the hospital since then it's been this made it harder to get in my Protein and Water but I'm working on it and I have still been able to walk a little bit just to get my mind At ease. Please keep my husband in your thoughts and prayers
Definitely keeping him in my thoughts. Hang in there. Wishing I could give you a big hug.

Hey all! It's been a while since I have been on here but I am doing great! I am 55 pounds down! surgery was feb 17th! My question is that for the past three weeks I have lost a pound a week so 3 pounds in 3 weeks! I made sure I worked out this last week to kick start it! Am I doing something wrong ? Is it normal? Lol. I eat about 800-1000 calories daily but normally it's around 800 and get atleast 80 grams of Protein in! Would love any advice or tips
I've done that. And then last week I lost 4 pounds. Weird

Well all I don't get on here as much. I think because I've been putting other things first being sleeved isn't at the forefront of my mind. It needs to be. I have to say I appreciate everyone's honesty. Didn't really want to share how much I'm struggling because I felt alone. Not in a mean way but it's nice to hear others are in the same boat. Connecting with all of you needs to be a priority. It really helps keep me focused.
I struggle. Making the right choices is hard, but I do it for the most part. Every now and then I will slip up, but then I get frustrated that my weight is stuck so I get right back on track. Hang in there. You got this

Jennie-O seasoned turkey burger patties on a low carb tortilla with cheese and a little mayo and mustard, chicken patties, morning star black bean patties dipped in ranch. I sautée a little chicken and add shredded cabbage (I buy the bagged cole slaw cabbage that's already shredded) and soy sauce, pop a lid on it and once it's done it tastes like the inside of an egg roll. Shrimp sautéed with garlic or other spices. Flatizza from subway. Make a small pizza out of a low carb tortilla. Ribs, easy on the sauce. Mainly meats

I have been in a stall for two weeks. Anyone have any tricks that got them out of their stalls and back on track? Thinking about going back to only Protein Shakes for a week to see if that helps.
I stall all the time, but my clothes keep getting looser so I put the scale away for a bit.

On average my carbs are around 50. Sometimes way less. And it's very rare I don't meet my Protein goals. If my carbs are over that I will not lose. I'll bump by protein and see what happens.

still sloooow going. I take protonix twice daily and will continue forever. Lol. I suffered from GERD pre-surgery. I was put on Iron but can't take it. I was so constipated because of it that I didn't poop for over a week. That's taking 3 stool softeners a day and milk of mag. I need to be more active, but I have no energy. None. I'm taking bariatric Vitamins, Vitamin D and B12 injections and I'm so tired I can barely lift my head once I get home from work. I feel that if I were more active I'd lose more steadily but all I wanna do is rest. Thanks Darianna. I will have to wait and see if or how much of a problem I have after I stop the Protonics. The Dr said I can take Prilosec after I stop the Protonics. I do know that uncontrolled acid /GERD can cause esophageal cancer so keeping it in check will be my goal. Hows everyone else doing?

Did this thread die? How's everyone doing?
Losing so slowly.

Omg! So, I bought a pair of Jean capris from old navy todsy. Size 18! I didn't even think a 20 would fit, but they were too big. Wooo! I haven't been able to walk in and buy jeans from old navy in probably 6+ years. I went from a 28/30 to an 18 so far!
Woohoo!!! Proud of you!!!

I am still losing hair at 9 months out but nothing "alarming". I had extremely thick hair so now it sort of feels like when I'd go and get it thinned out a lot. The thing that worries me is that I just had to have a hysterectomy and my GYN said that Hair loss can be a major side effect. So, I am hoping it doesn't increase a significant amount. 2 surgeries in 9 months may just make my hair loss worse. My Dr. said the stress of being put under anesthesia coupled with the hormonal changes is a major factor in hair loss. Now I can times that by two
