    Still in pain

My doc's office said the pre-op diet isn't just to shrink your liver, but to see if you have the resolve to stick to a diet and test yourself to know whether or not you are ready. I am not trying to judge you or complain, but you asked. If you went to my surgeon she would not perform a surgery on you. Smoking increases the risk of blood clots. You could die. She has not had a death and wouldn't perform the surgery just based on that alone. It's normal to be nervous. And maybe you're sabotaging yourself subconsciously because you honestly aren't ready. I'd talk to a therapist about it and go from there. Best of luck, April

    Still in pain

When I woke up from my sleeve I honestly thought something had went wrong because I was in so much pain. I've had 4 other surgeries and none prepared me for the pain level I was at. Then, I was bending about a week and a half after surgery and ripped some internal scar tissue. It was agonizing. It happens. Some people heal faster. Some people have little or no pain. I wasn't one of those. I'm 5 weeks out today and feel fine except every once in a while when I'm lying down and twist wrong. Hang in there. It will get better. I know it doesn't seem like it, but it will. April

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

After 2 days of milk of mag I finally had a large decaf coffee... And finally pooped. I've never been so happy about poop before. Just saying
  5. Thanks. I'm hoping it's the same with me
  6. I wish I'd have known I couldn't drink plain Water after surgery. It makes me really nauseous. I was such a water drinker and now it has to have something in it. Mio or crystal light. Lemon wedges, if there is plenty of lemon juice. Also, once I was feeling so much better, about a week or so after I got back from the hospital, I bent and ripped my scar tissue in my deepest stitch. Be careful. Just because you feel a lot better does not mean to stop taking it easy. Take care of yourself as best you can the first weeks after surgery. April

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I've been crazy busy. I moved and then my best friend is moving, but we are painting and fixing up her place. I've been skipping meals and that is so not good.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Way too few. Maybe 500 on a good day. It's a full-time job Bc nothing fits. My sleeve is really tight in the mornings. Really tight. At lunch I had one little piece of grilled chicken from my sister's fajitas dipped in guacamole and about a tablespoon of refried beans. Dinner I'll eat about the same. Right now I'm gonna try really hard to get a muscle milk or protein shake down.

Too few calories can definitely cause you to stop losing. You need calories to burn calories. Your body will go into starvation mode otherwise. Also keep in mind stalls happen. Try not to weigh every day. It gets discouraging when you do that. I've lost no weight in a little over a week but I've lost an inch around my neck and an inch in my waist. Our bodies do need to stabilize. They've been through a lot.

I've been at the same exact weight for over a week. But I'm losing inches. I've not reached my liquid goal even once. Trying hard today, though.

I can get my daughter to snap a pic this coming weekend and post it. She can also show me how to make one of those split image collage pic thingies. Yeah, at first it was rough but we knuckle down n do our best. I knew once I got past the first few weeks I'd be better so I just kept swimming

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hey y'all!!! I'm alive, I promise! My iPhone crapped out and I just got the replacement today. I'm all moved, almost all the way unpacked and feel so different. I'm over 40 pounds down (I'll probably weigh tomorrow) and you can really tell in the way I look. And I am doing things that used to be awkward or painful, like bending to tie my shoes, bending to shave, etc. best feeling ever. I haven't thrown up once since my first few days. I did dry heave once Bc I still get nauseous. I have to take zofran for nausea every day. I take my ppi (protonix) twice daily and my bipolar meds. That's it. No more BP meds. No more Lyrica for my back. It's crazy wonderful. I learned I HAVE to measure 2-3 ounces out, depending what it is. Otherwise it hurts if I have any more than that. A very uncomfortable feeling. I've also found I can drink liquids if they are on ice. Otherwise I get nauseated. Who am I kidding, I am always nauseated. Lol I'm actually excited about going to a wedding March 29 Bc I look so fucking fabulous. Just sayin

Are you taking a ppi like Prilosec, Zantac or Protonix? Sounds like u need to be and if one doesn't work try a different one. I have to take protonix twice a day.

    February/March 2014 sleevers

I had the patch, phenergan, zofran and finally Benadryl... And was still dry heaving. Hang in there. It really does get better. I felt like I was ripping in two when I was dry heaving so I feel your pain.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Well.... Prilosec and Zantac didn't do anything to help me, as I have GERD. So, I take protonix twice daily. Jen, I'm thrilled to hear from ya, girl!! I'm totally blending some chicken with avocado tomorrow!
  19. Maybe you're right. But when u post on a forum it's open to discussion. Meaning you're going to get advice from different angles. One takes what one needs from the answers and chooses to ignore what they don't. This is my second account on this forum, as I was locked out of my old one. I've been on these boards for 3 years total. More often than not slow weight loss is from too many carbs. If it doesn't work, cutting carbs, then try someone else's suggestion. You eventually find what works for you.
  20. Ummm... You're maybe not losing Bc you're "eating whatever you want". Anyway, try less than 50 carbs a day. You'll start losing again.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hello all. I haven't been avoiding y'all, I've just been moving into a new place As far as dry mouth, my lips are so dry... And my hands are. Very dry. I'm always putting lotion on. At first I thought it was from handling all of the cardboard boxes and newspaper to dishes and things in, but now I'm thinking I'm pretty dehydrated as my urine is very yellow. As far as constipation goes, I'm the opposite. Which doesn't help my dehydration issues. April
  22. There is a deep internal suture there that is healing. Sometimes the pain can take your breath away it'll be so sudden and sharp. I'm 2 weeks out and it does get better. Take it easy on bending.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I felt the same as far as pain, nausea and being depressed. I know you're tired of hearing this, but it gets better each day. But do take it easier. There are a couple of is who ripped our muscles where that internal stitch was healing. Be very careful when u bend down. Actually, try not to at first. Keep in mind, right now your hormones are flooding your body. You're going to get mixed feelings. Your emotions are on overdrive. Just know that you are not alone. Your tummy is numb. You will learn to feel restriction and learn to read your body's cues. It just takes time for the nerves in your tummy to come back awake.
