  1. Feeling pretty good about my thanksgiving food choices. Had a little hummus for appy and some turkey, carrot, and a teaspoon of mashed pots and a taste of stuffing. Far difference from the past thanksgivings. I skipped dessert too! Hope everyone else had a good day.
  2. I'm from central NJ, and had my surgery on 10/21 with Dr. Forrester from NJ bariatric center @ Overlook Hospital..
  3. Thanks for doing another challenge! CW: 243 GW: 230

  7. . Thanks for this info. I feel the same way - since puréed stage, weight loss slowed too. I go for one month appt. Friday.
  8. Apparently since my sleeve on 10/21, the taste of any whey protein powder tastes awful to me. I can barely finish one. Found one but fear the calories are too high.. Any suggestions for a better tasting powder?? Thanks

  13. I too miss popcorn!! Walking into Target is the worst. All you smell is popcorn!
  14. I was sleeved on 10/21. I was a complete case of nerves. It was all for nothing. I expected the worst. It was better than I could have imagined. Rely on your nurses after surgery. They're great. Walk as much as you can and sip some water. Good luck!!
  15. Highest: 287 Surgery: 271 10/21/13 Current: 252 Goal: 175
  16. Still too late?? I'd like the encouragement also. Start weight 252. T-day 235.
  17. Almost 2 weeks out, my nut said a cup of coffee is OK as long as getting water in. I tried decaf today and have awful heartburn. Won't be doing that again anytime soon!!
  18. I am one week out. It hasn't been nearly as bad as I thought it would have been. My pain was minimal in the hospital, also maybe a 4. It was sore getting in and out of bed for about the first four-five days. Gas pains were easily controlled with gas-x. Walk as much as possible and drink your water & protein. I was told to take 2 weeks off work. I go back Monday. Good luck!
  19. So excited. Had 1 week post op appointment today. Lost 17 lbs!! Lost 28 total including 2 week pre-op. Finishing out my 2nd week of liquids and then moving onto purees. Looking forward to something other than broth.
  20. Good luck! I'm only 8 days out and on my 2nd week of post op liquids. Everything has been going good. Take your time, walk as soon as you can in the hospital. It helps a lot! Sip slowly!! You'll do great.
  21. Good luck! You'll do great!!
  22. Congratulations! It's an amazing journey.
  23. Sleeved 10/21 also. Thankfully didn't experience nausea. Nurses were vigilant about anti nausea meds. Having a hard time getting all water/liquids down in addition to protein drinks. Still happy I did this too!
