  1. I am hitting the Zicam hard, and lots of fluids, praying I don't get a cough- dont think that would be easy to feel with post-op
  2. You look amazing!!!!! Very inspirational- can't wait to join you on the losers bench!
  3. Surgery is supposed to be a week from today! Will it get cancelled /rescheduled????
  4. U lookin good! On the way, man!
  5. PAT! Congrats!! Mine is the 21!
  6. Just got my date today.....FINALLY!!!!!!! October 21!!!!! Very excited and a little scared
  7. I am so excited and yet frustrated all at the same time- my insurance called me LAST FRIDAY to let me know my surgery is approved.... And yet I still can't get a date from my surgeon' office- they are saying they have to wait for it to come in the mail!!! My insurance advocate said that they faxed it to the surgeon on Monday - so what the hay??? A lot of things are up in the air waiting on this date- like my schedule at work (they have to have someone cover for me) family's travel plans, and several other more complicated issues . Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
  8. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and hands and I take a lot of ibuprofen now- my surgeon doesn't want me taking it any more either, but my understanding is the risk is like it is for anybody- risk of ulcers and heart attack. I have accepted that risk for now because I cannot sleep from the pain otherwise! I am hoping the major weight loss will greatly decrease my pain and I won't need it later- without the surgery I would surely have to continue, and probably on increasing dosages.
  9. So excited for you! Hoping my surg will b in October too!
  10. Pat- do u have a date yet? I am waiting on insurance approval.......
  11. Hmmmm.... I have tried the voltarin gel on my hands and it didn't help at all.... Doubtful it would work even as well on much larger joint like my knee : (
  12. I am waiting on my final insurance approval (SO excited) but I have a question about knee pain at night for y'all. I take 4 ibuprofen EVERY night right now, and still toss and turn in pain most nights. I have to come off it before surgery- at least 10 day before- and my surgeon said I need to stop takin it forever since I can cause ulcers. He says some of his patients use some topical compounded medicine that works for them. Any serious pain sufferers out there had any luck with stuff like this? I am skeptical...
  13. I am going thru the steps to have Dr Balder do my sleeve- but I don't know much about him.....where are you in your journey?
