Mine started on week 3 on the nose, and lasted three weeks. I was pretty bummed.

I've read about plenty of people having good experiences down there. I don't have any say as I didn't go down there, but thought I would bring it up for discussion.

No one answered directly, but yes, its "a" normal. The majority have problems with drinking for a while, but a large chunk of us don't. I had zero problems chugging right out of surgery (had the same question as you).
True restriction will kick in when you move on to real foods. Just remember there are a lot of normals

I have to say, that would push me into it just to rub their noses in the results! Of course, I can be rather vindictive by nature, so take that with a grain of salt

I was hungry 4 days out, and hasn't changed in 6 weeks since. You really have to grin and bear it until you start getting solids though (not something people want to hear).
Oh how I wish I was one of those people that don't feel hungry, but alas

Complications from the surgery. I read enough to not be afraid of it not working, but I was afraid of having to eat through a tube or something.

Are you eating a lot of carbs? That's probably the first thing to cut out IMO

The stalls SUCK! Just got out of a three week stall myself, and nothing anyone said really made me feel better

Everyone is different, but my cravings never really went away. They have eased up a great deal though.

Three weeks today, and dropped 6 pounds this morning. FINALLY! I used to get annoyed at all the stall posts until I hit mine. I feel like I've finally arrived . And in 200s land to boot!
What I've learned:
People in stalls are nearly inconsolable. Hearing that it will pass does nothing when you're rounding the second week. in the back of my mind I knew it would pass, but I wanted to throw myself on the ground and throw a tantrum
Also, people that haven't had the sleeve have little sympathy. After dropping 55 pounds very quickly, my wife got annoyed when I complained daily about not losing more (bless her heart for putting up with me).

My stall will be 3 weeks tomorrow. It sucks when you're in the middle of it, and just can't be consoled

Hey, I live in Smyrna and work in Nashville as well! Had mine at Centennial though since I work at HCA

I can't wait for that too! But I'm only 3 days out so I'm patient. Another thing I can't wait for is the "gap" you know the one the sun can go thru between your upper thighs and your coochie, yeah gap check please lol!
That gap thing has a lot to do with your hips, losing weight might not give you what you're looking for. Not saying it to be discouraging, but didn't want you to place too much hope on it.

I did a lot of research ahead of time, so I didn't have a lot of questions. My first consult, to be honest, was in and out like a hurricane. The surgeon went over some stuff very quickly, then I was out.

I got kicked in the liver once in karate. One of the worst pains I ever experienced, I immediately doubled over and thought I was going to pass out. But that was a trauma, I dont know it would compare to an internal pain.

I usually count from the two week pre-op, which is 55 lbs. But if I count from surgery (a lil over 1 month), around 30 lbs. Logically I know that's pretty good, but I've been hovering at the same weight for around two weeks and its driving me bonkers!

How could she not, I've bitched for 2 straight weeks about being 305 still :-)

Check out the success stories board, you'll find tons

That was about the same for me. one day I just up and lost 10 pounds. Another week of nothing, then lost another 7 pounds in a day. I have no idea what's up with y body, but just stick in there, your patience will be rewarded

My biggest (and only) disappointment with WLS
in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

My disappointment is from still being hungry. My appetite is there, even if my capacity isn't.
