    Not bragging but.....

I was the same way. You're going to start to wonder if anything had really been done, and maybe its not working, but believe the stories that when you start eating for reals you'll know your tummy is tiny
  2. I had that for a day or so.. stomach spasms

    very confused

That is weird putting the consult at the end. Most places start with an overview class with a surgeon, followed with a consult, then the long wait through insurance requirements. I will echo what others have said.. started out looking at the band. I didn't want anything rearranged or removed, but more importantly it was reversible. as I researched the issues, I came to realize that I didn't feel fully committed. I finally had to re-evaluate whether I was ready to fully commit. Once I did, I decided to get a more permanent solution in the sleeve. Good thing too, turned out my center doesn't do the sleeve any longer
  4. You'd make my surgeon happy, that's for sure!

    Pre-op Diet Vent

I actually had a harder time on my post-op than my pre-op. That's not to say the pre-op was easy, but I could actually tell that 95% of it was head hunger, and I was able to better tamp it down. OMG, I had sooo much broth on the pre-op that I couldn't stand it post-op!

    Surgery Tomorrow

It's very normal to second guess. In fact, you'll be second guessing up until you start the anesthesia countdown What's worse than that, though, is for at least the first week (if not longer) you'll be asking what you've done to yourself! And no amount of knowing that you'll ask it will keep you from asking it anyway! Statistically, though, it's worth it. You've done very well so far, but you have to ask how likely it is you'll keep that weight off on your own. That's not to sound mean, or that you can't do it, but the numbers are always against us.

    I could use some advice!

The first problem sounds like stricture, which would lead into the second problem. I'm no Dr, but that's what it sounds like. Sounds like you're already getting looked at for the third item, but if you have stricture you need to get it fixed.
  10. Its going to depend on your team. Surgeon instructions vary far too wildly to do anything more than guess. On top of that, everyone is affected differently by different foods. I've been seeing that all we can really do is tell our tales and hope it helps

When to tell someone you're dating about the band?

Only speaking as a guy, if I wear into you the news that you were banded would have as much effect as hearing you had a root canal.. As in, maybe some curiosity, but it wouldn't weird me out or anything. I know I don't speak for all guys, but I feel that unless he's a total chav he probably won't care that much.

    first taste of food

    They advised mashed potatoes?

    Hating my protein

Between the preop and post op, I've tried tons of them, and nope, none taste good. I fully believe the people on here that say they like this brand or that are deluding themselves The only real course of action is to find the ones you best tolerate, and assume you won't love any of them
  15. I've lately been thinking a lot of this is guesswork on all sides

    Nutrition Classes

Unfortunately they're pretty much all the same. Since there's always new people in they can never really advance the class. Mine was the same way though, such a snooze fest. The worst was the exercise person, what a waste of time.
  17. When I got asked that, I used statistics. People aren't usually ready for science to come flying at them, so they would never retort.
  18. Good gawd, clears for over a month?! I'm seven days into two week clears and I'm already to gnaw my arm off!
  19. I had that issue, gallbladder intact. I just made sure to stay hydrated and in front of it.

    after surgery

I really didn't feel like walking or gas-x did me any good. Didn't hurt or anything, but didn't seem to speed anything up. Different strokes and all that
  21. I'm 6 days post op, and one of the few with no problem with fluids. I think I probably hit close to 80 oz yesterday. I honestly can't tell my tummy has been shrunk. Something I should be doing more is walking. I'm still getting light headed when I'm up for a few mins, so I often don't bother
  22. About 5 days post op (1/21) and I'm hungrier now than I was preop. I'm supposed to be on clear liquid for another week, then full liquids for two weeks, and I dunno if I can take it! The preop diet sucked, but I guess I had assumed I'd lose my hunger some for the post op. I'm getting 70-80 oz of water in without blinking and eye, and no problems with protein (except for the taste).

    Sooo hungry!

I might have to try Maalox then, tums hasn't done any good. Still hoping its acid!

    Sooo hungry!

I'm hitting 70-80 oz of water, sometimes more. If I drink any more water I'll float away!
