    Skin Question...

I really don't think there is, although I was sick of drinking my Syntrax nectar so I started making it into a jelly. 500ml Water, 3 leaves of Gelatin and 1 full scoop of the Syntrax Nectar. I divided it up into 4 containers and eat for Snacks during the day. After about 3 weeks I noticed a few strange things my finger nails started to grow and they were strong not breaking. My hair seemed to feel better. Anyway I was a bit freaked out so tried to work out what I was doing different and can only put it down to the gelatin. So I went online to find out the benefits of gelatin and sure enough it promotes nail growth, hair and collagen for the skin which it says will help with sagging. I'm 2.5yrs out so I already have miles of saggy skin after a loss of 111 pounds. So can't confirm the saggy skin claim but def great for the hair and nails. I'll let you know if I notice any changes to my skin. Lot cheaper than lots of those crazy claim products Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. Instead of tea I buy a piece of fresh ginger. Slice into thin strips, cover it and dry it out at 30 second intervals in the microwave then leave it out on paper towel overnight. Then pack into a sealed container. I then add 2 or 3 slices to hot Water, very refreshing and taste's great Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  10. No, things aren't always black and white. But how can you even argue the fact that it all boils down to ultimately, it's our choices and ours alone that determine our success? There has to be some personal responsibility. Otherwise it's just a bunch of I'm not a big advocate of the "Devil made me do it" defense. Wow that's really what you took away from my comment ! 11. My spouse has never shoved any food down my throat. It's MY choice and mine alone what I choose to eat, not his. Why do you act like people are completely powerless to the forces of people asking you to eat certain foods? Because you aren't you know.I also think you have taken this down a very different path than what I was trying to say. But each to there own, hopefully others reading this will understand where I was coming from. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  14. I think we all have to be very aware, those that we love the most can also revert to or turn into enablers as we progress further away from our surgery. So we not only have to be vigilant with ourselves but sometimes our spouses. They forget easier than us how we became obese and feel like we achieved what we needed to and so now deserve some rewards. It's a lifetime of change for all of us and our family's and friends. Surprised at how fat I am

Wait until you are at goal and see a picture of yourself I can sit there for ages looking at it and I am in shock that I never realised how big I was. Obviously I knew I was big but pictures tell the truth that you can't deny. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  16. Make sure you sort them by size because lots of us thought we would do that and by the time we tried them on we had moved past that size ahhh. Frustrating but great Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. Have you thought about finding a dress maker or alterations place ? I chose all of the outfits I loved and had them cut them down to my size. One of the dresses I had cut down twice because I loved it. That would be a lot cheaper than replacing them. Even the shirts worn as tunics will prob need the sleeves altered. serious question for fellow "veterans"

Sam, my husband and I were sleeved in December 2013. He was overweight since he was a baby. He has gone from 320 to 220, he is so happy. He kept 1x to 3x clothes for forty years. Boxed and labeled. He lost 100 lbs twice on Optifast shakes - two years of liquids, no food. We went to WL seminars 15 years. The sleeve was presented to us at a seminar, and I led him to the fire. All the boxes of cloths are gone to Goodwill, and he wears a Large shirt now. He is off two BP meds and his insulin use is much less. His passion is clothes shopping these days, and looking good. We have had no problems with the sleeve in three years. We are living life again, boating and traveling. We can leave home for the day with two apples and Water or Crystal Light. We eat out regularly and share one Mel since surgery. We share a filet mignon with l vegetable. We would do the sleeve again in a heartbeat. My husband is not on BPal but I can tell you this has been the greatest ride. He will be 69 this year, and is healthier, happier and thin. God bless.Wow great story. My Husband and I were also sleeved on the same day in Oct 2013 and are both at goal and loving where we are. It wasn't easy because he lost his weight so much faster than I did but we were both at goal after 12 months and YES we would both def do it again. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I have a poached egg done in the microwave ( 1/3 cup of water, splash of cider vinegar, cover with paper towel 50 seconds and done ) I also have 1 tablespoon of Real Bacon Crumble and maybe a 1/4 avocado if they are nice. I have this pretty much every morning Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Water - it really works

I buy fresh ginger, slice it thinly dry it out in the microwave and then store it in a sealed container. Once a day I will have a cup of hot water with a slice of fresh lemon and 1 or 2 pieces of the dried ginger. It works great

    Tanning/Sunscreen

Once upon a time they were pretty bad but most are pretty good now. I suggest getting it done properly then getting them to suggest a good over the counter one for you to use to TOP up while your away. Go for a trial first then you can tell them if you want it lighter or darker for your trip.
