  1. Thanks so much Bee. Don't worry I'll take you up on that. So excited and nervous for you! I feel so ill prepared for this. I've got so much organising to so but all I seem to do us procrastinate. For all the worry I have no doubt your surgery will go by without a hitch. What time do you start your fast tomorrow?
  2. Hey Bee, Haha you didn't scare me. It's nice to hear the reality of what I'm about to go through. I know it's not going to be fun lol. How are you feeling? Only 2 sleeps. Awesome on your last day. Bet it will all sink in at the end of the day. Nice work on your pamper day. Great idea. I've teed up with my sister to have her kids that weekend to keep my mind off things. Take care Chez
  3. Hey Bee my pre op diet starts may 19. Argh... Has to be done though! 3 weeks to go til pre op diet, 5 weeks til op. How are you feeling today? Thanks Leanne for the tip about driving. I figured it would take a while to start driving. How are you going with everything??
  4. No worries Hun all good. Nice work on the cooking and not eating, so hard to do!! I'm not looking forward to pre op. Are you doing optifast? Argh... So not long for you, exciting. I'm nervous 5 weeks out have no idea how I'll be a couple of days out. I'll be thinking of you this week. My weekend was good thanks, enjoying my last few weeks of so called 'freedom'. But also feeling relieved that this part of my life is coming to a close. How did your weekend go? How are you doing??
  5. Hey Bee and Leanne. Bee how did your appointment go today?? Hope all went well. OMG I felt like I was reading my own thoughts. I've been worried about the same things as you re: surgery and not waking up etc. glad I'm not the only one! I've been having heaps of food funerals. Today was maccas. I'm relieved about that. While I was eating it I was taking my time and realised it taste crappy too...making it easier to give up. Good suggestion about easing into pre op with the shakes. I'm going to start that as if next week. Leanne, great to meet you! Thanks heaps for sharing your story. It's always good to hear From someone who has been there done that. Thanks for your support. I have a question, how long did it take til you could drive??
  6. Great to meet you too Bee. I keep going over everything. One moment I'm fine, the next I'm freaked out! Good work on the 6kg pre op. How long is your pre op diet for? I'm on Optifast for 2 weeks. 4 weeks until I start all that. Big congrats to you on making your decision. It's a massive choice to make. I'm most scared about the operation itself. I've never been in hospital so I'm nervous about it. I'm also scared about not being fat as I've been fat for so long I don't know any other reality. In saying that, I'm most excited about being healthy and happy and comfortable. Also being able to buy clothes I want to buy rather then buying clothes just because they fit me. How about you? What are you scared or excited about?

    June Sleevers?

That's a shame Annmarie, some people just have no understanding or empathy for our position. My advice would be to look at the evidence around the sleeve and arm yourself with the knowledge to make an informed choice about your life. See what support is around your area and tap into it. Good luck Tigermouse. No hernia here but I wish you all the best. I know what you're saying about photos. Used to love em, now not so much.

    June Sleevers?

Good luck with everything missy and annmarie! Cupcake looking forward to buying clothes too. Clothes I like not just clothes I fit into. It's good that we are all here for one another. I'm about to put together a schedule over the next 7 weeks. I wanna do a massive clean out and get ready before my surgery. It still seem surreal. I don't reckon it will really hit me until I'm in recovery.

Thanks ladies! Mrs bailey I hope all goes to plan and you get your surgery. Good luck with your surgery cupcake. I've been going through the process since last year as well and in 7 weeks I will be living a new reality. Argh. What are you most looking forward to? What are you most scared of? I'm looking forward to living a full life, I'm scared of going under anaesthetic coz I've never had an operation before.

Thank you for posting this! I've been doing the same thing. In just over a week I'm meeting my surgeon to book the date and will probably be having the op at the end of May. Good luck to everyone xx
  18. Bloods, ECG are ok, psych and dietitian done. Off to endocrinologist tomorrow and surgeon in two weeks. Shit just got real. Pleased with my appointments today. Excited now!
  19. Hi there, I've just made my appointments with the psychologist, dietician and physician to get my checks done before I meet with the surgeon in April. I'm nervous about things now, more nervous they will find something wrong and I can't get the surgery. Probably worrying over nothing. Does anyone have some any advice or kind words?
  20. You look great! I'm in the initial stages of the process and it's great your story. Thanks for sharing.

    1 Yr post op !

    You look amazing! Gorgeous dress.
  22. That's it, nervous and restless. Thanks for responding, sharing and your advice. I'm feeling better about things. Need to find something else to occupy the thoughts!! Xx
  23. Thanks for you're replies they are much appreciated. It's comforting that others have similar thoughts to me. It's such a major step. I understand this is not a process to be rushed and remaining positive can be hard at times. All will be as its meant too. Good luck to you both with your journeys!! Has anyone had any issues that delayed surgery? I'm just trying to prepare for all scenarios.
