    New to group from Leominster

I am from Dudley and I went thru U-Mass in Worcester and it took 9mo. Now it is taking longer, but I will say although it does take long the education and screnning you get from them is wonderful. By the time you are done you are ready and full of knowledge. They give you time and education to get it right.

What size do you want to be?

I am almost 5'8" and I currently weigh 216. I am in mostly 18, 18W,some 16 and 16W. I have never been in a 16/16w in all my adult life. I do agree sizes are a bit larger. Single digit sizes for me would be incredible. Realistically, at my age, a 10/12 might do it. I'm still gonna go for single digit though. At this point I am more jiggly in an 18 than I was at 22 years old!!

    One year later

Congratulations on a job well done j.s. !!
  7. This is a total "I can't believe it" I really wanted another jeans jacket since I am selling my 3X one on E-Bay. I really needed a couple of short sleeved shirts and Filenes had some on sale for 7.99 (just right for me since I am still losing weight). I saw these really pretty jeans jackets and couldn't help myself. I tried onthe XL but it was too roomy (I can't believe I"m saying that!) I bought the Misses L:eek: !!! It is slightly tight in the sleeves and a bit restrictive in the shoulders and snug around the middle. Nothing 10 lbs won't fix! Check it out. I am so loving this band!!!! Sorry for the self serving interest of this post. I just have to tell someone. I see myself out of the corner of my eye passing a mirror and I still, go back and can't believe its me.....As far as the disparity and non uniformity of womens sizes, there are as many "OOOH it fits!! as there are HMMM, why doesn't this fit....!! OK, I'm done rambling.:speechles

Happy Anniversary and you are one of my major inspirations when I first started my banding journey. Thanks for all you have given me.

Totally Check out my New Jeans Jacket

You guys are so great! I don't know why I am so emotional about all this. I start thinking about my reasons for doing this or just thinking how my life has changed, or why did I have to spend so much time losing out on what life has to offer and then I go make myself look in the mirror and say to myself YOU ARE WORTHY! You are so close. You can do this. You are not alone. And then, there you all are with so many words of endearment, empowerment, praise and admiration. My humbleness abounds and here the tears come. Thank you all Robyn

Totally Check out my New Jeans Jacket

Thank you all so much. Every size down is a totally awe inspiring and deserving of thanks to God. I never had any faith that I could do this and even though there are many bumps along the way down and I am far from a "perfect bandster", I would do this again in a heartbeat. I haven't been this close to onederland in 20 years. I am like a kid in a candy store when I go cautiously checking out new clothes. I have to re-learn how to shop. I have to remember that I am not so overweight now that I can't walk a long way or sit cross legged on the floor. It's amazing how our brains take a lot longer to catch up with a new improved version of ourselves. No more fat thinking for me. I am so done with that!!! Robyn

    Disheartened about sizes

I have a pair of llined navy blue wool and cashmere pants which I didn't quite make it into this past winter. They are a very small 18W. I have a pair of tan capris from Dress Barn, 14W. Can you believe this?:faint: They are the same exact size!!! Go figure. The capris are actually every so slightly biggger and they fit. I am going to wear the capris with the tags on!!! HAHAHA:whoo:

    Disheartened about sizes

Sizes are so crazy....I am 5'7" and you can see my weight below and I wear mostly size 18 pants. My shirt size is usually 1x or a generous xl. However, tonight I bought a pair of size 16 gauchos. Can you believe it! I have a pair of 14 I can almost wear and a pair of 22W that are still too tight. Whatever....I give up. Sizes are not universal and neither are body types. When I was over 300 lbs I thought I would like to be a size 16. Not anymore. What size would a 5'7" person weighing 150 wear???? Anybody???

Thanks so much...My 12 yr old daughter liked Kevin..but he wasn't really American Idol material. But we was a pretty good singer. He needs to lose the lisp.

    200 pounds

:clap2: Hey Flower, Congratulations to my fellow U-Mass bandster..I'll be joing you in just 23 lbs. That will put me at 108 lbs. I hope to be there by my birthday in June. If I make it I will have lost 108 lb in 11 months! Heres to wishing, hoping, and praying.
  17. How do you know its time for a tuck...Should your weight be a normal range for your height. I've had 3 c-sections, appendectomy, gallbladder removal, and lapband with hernia repair. I started at about 308 now I am 235 and have ripply, hanging abdomen...not too bad yet however in another 50 lb I can't imagine.....

    Perceptions of food

I'm with you guys...Prior to lap band surgery, I never would have eaten salad like I do now....Ever. Now some greens, a slice of deli roast beef broken up, a small little toss of lowfat shredded cheeses and lowfat blue cheese dsg with some crunchy noodles on top..to die for!!!! I've eaten tuna in my salad too.that was a "no way" thing for me too!!!
  19. Check these annoying creatures out. My 2yr old Shitzu -Dachsund loves his ball and those birds!! I let him out and he chases them all over. It is quite a sight. He doesn't hurt them though!:biggrin1:

Look what lives in our back yard!

We live in a very rural community 1 hour south west of Boston...We have 1 traffic light in the center of town...a regional school system..a nationally know college and lots of wild animals...Homes on the avg go for 250K+. Larger ones, like big colonials start at 350+. Where do these wild things think they are gonna live!!!! There are still many acres of woods. My mom has deer in her backyard every am. We have had a coyote in our front yard...I've seen one or two fox in my last few years...Racoons, skunks, the occasional hedgehog...You name it..We have it. Not to mention those cute bunnys. My puppy Cato is a crazy mix..He is so full of energy.Very smart. Well behaved and a great man. He takes good care of me and my daughter, extremely protective. Loves that dang ball..He is always carrying it in his mouth llike a cigar and nudging us to grab it from him....Its the tooth that sticks out of his mouth that gets me. And those eyes..They just scream "love Me"

Look what lives in our back yard!

Yup wild turkeys...They are very stupid..They don't even care when you walk up to them. They just sit in the middle of the road sometimes. You have to honk or get out of car and scream and scare them to get them to move!!!

    100 pounds in one year

It is possible...depends on who you are...See my stats..I am trying for that goal. I hope I can do it. However, I need to work hard by staying on track food wise and increase activity.
