I was sleeved my Dr. Alvarez on Sept 27. I also had great care and a great experience. I was back to work in a week and I'm down 19 pounds since surgery. My incisions are complete healed. Recovery was fairly easy. The hospital is old but clean. The town is busy with cars and people walking. I never felt unsafe.

You can do it. I also did my pre op for 35 days. I was sleeved 8 days ago. I think do to my long pre op my recovery is easier. I only lost 27 pounds on my pre op. I lost another 15 pounds since surgery. It's weird to think how much food controlled my life. I can now go and sit at a restaurant and watch other people eat. It does not bother me at all. I'm rooting for you. PM me if you need anything. It's not easy but you got this.

2 weeks out and already on soft foods? Wow. It's amazing how each doctor is different. I was on a clear diet for 7 days. All liquid diet for weeks 2 and 3. Sorry I'm not help still on all liquids.

I was just sleeved with Dr. A on Sept 27, 2013. Everything went great. I'm already back to work and feel great. I lost 15 pounds my 1st week. Recovery was easier than expected.

I think if you healthy enough then it's not a big deal. If you have health problems my doctor would make you get clearance before doing the surgery. I think 1/2 of the things the insurance puts you though are ridiculous. Of course it is up to the individual having surgery in Mexico to be honest about their health when filling out the forms. As a precaution I myself went to my pcp and had blood work, EKG, and chest x ray before going to Mexico that was covered by my insurance.

Hi I just sleeved by Dr. A on Sept 27, 2013. I thought it seemed to be safe. You are only going over the border a mile or so. You will see people on foot as well as a lot of cars. I even walked to a few restaurants a few blocks from the hospital to sit with others while they ate. I was not scared at all. The town is a little run down but there was a lot of outside activity. The hospital is older but clean. My recovery has been very easy. Any other questions feel free to ask.

You an buy a small one at Walmart. 6 to 10 ft for around $5.00.

I just had surgery in Friday. Went to the casino Thursday night. We had a blast. My surgery went well. Good luck!!! You will love Dr. Alvarez. I feel really good. Hardly any pain.

Almost forgot get Chapstick fort eh day of surgery when you can drink anything. You will need it.

I had my sleeve yesterday at 10am in Piedras Negras, Coahuila Mexico with dr Alverez. I had very little pain on left side and no gas pains yet. Knock on wood!! It almost seems so surreal.... Surely it can't be this easy.

My doctor required 37 days liquid diet do to Bmi. I lost 27 pounds. I did have a 2 cheats the whole time. I thought wow this doctor is crazy who can do this. I weigh in the high 300. If I can do it so can you. I have never ever been able to diet for longer than a week. It's really put in prospective my mental issues with food. I didn't realize all the time and effort that I gave food. I had my surgery yesterday and it has been such a breeze. I have very little pain in my left side and no gas pain yet. Just remember the prize on the other side.
