  1. Ok, I have a couple of things I have done to try (not totally successfully, but it has helped) to vanquish the "former fat girl syndrome".

#1 I go try on (and only try on) smaller clothes, and take pics.

#2 I walk up to random people and turn around, and have my hubby or BFF tell me if they are similar, bigger, or smaller than me. Totally under the radar of course.

#2 has been huge for me. 7 times out of ten I think I'm bigger than someone and I'm told I'm way smaller. It's weird, but I'm getting a little better at it.

Our brains are so weird about this (at least mine is).

  2. Congratulations on your weight loss. I am down 8 lbs below goal and am eating most everything and trying not to loose a lot more.. I also have to work on my impulse eating. It seems I eat ok in the morning and by mid afternoon I coulld eat my arm off. So afternoon and evening, like before surgery, are my slippery times. So far, this isn't effecting my weight loss, but I weigh myself daily to be sure I continue to not regain any weight.

I too weigh daily to keep on track. I have found eating at 10am, 2pm, high Protein snack at 4 and dinner between 6-8 is helping a lot. It was a plan recommended by my surgeon. Maybe that would help you?

  3. 5'4, HW 248ish, pre-op 236, SW 219.8, CW 144.8, my goal 129-136.

Loss has slowed but is still creeping down. Not working out much, that has to change. I have a 5k in a month. I struggle with impulse eating, but am developing some strategies for that.

I am doing a "Rugged Maniac" 5k in July, way out of my comfort zone, but it's time to start actually living this life!!

  4. I just found this forum topic, mostly because I use mobile all the time, and don't have access to a desktop very often.

I was sleeved in August 2013.

Weight-loss has slowed, but it is still moving in the right direction. I am 8.8 lbs from MY goal and passed the Dr's goal about 10 lbs ago.

I am struggling with the return of some bad habits, but am trying some diversionary tactics. I am snacking, which is dumb, so I am trying to wait 15 minutes and drink Water instead. It works a lot of the time, but my issue is more the impulse eating than anything (seeing it, grabbing it, eating it before I really even think about it.) If I can get a hold of that, then I will be so much better off.

I've started a second job, and that will help a lot I think. ;o)

  5. OK folks. I hope you take this in the spirit in which it's intended. I'm still laughing over what my friend said to me yesterday. Like I wrote above, this was a friend I haven't seen in a year so I expected him to make comments about the change in me but what I didn't expect was when he looked hard at me for the upteenth time and said, 'Lizzy, I swear...if I was straight, I'd do you in a hot minute'. I bet no one has gotten that comment yet. LOL!

    THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!

  6. LOL I am worried the tattoo might weigh too much and I hate needles. I just ate 735 cals, and 70 gms of Protein, and carried on as usual. Thank you for the idea though.

    Weigh too much? Lol!

Guess what? I HATE needles (injection, blood draw, IV) but tattooing is different, it is beauty. BUT I do understand they aren't everybody's cup of tea!

Have you figured out anything else (other than the meal)?

Sky diving? Dance classes? New jewelry?

;o) a really important milestone deserves a significant celebration, IMHO...
