    No I didn't. You shouldn't need any. When you leave on your last day they will put some 4x4s on your removed drain site just in case. I didn't have any drainage when I took them off. All the others will be closed with the dermabond and none of my sites had any drainage. Kindle, congrats! I know if I absolutely had to I could've made the 3 hour drive home myself- but at night is another story. You're so tired often postop. If you don't have anyone to drive you I would make sure I slept on the last flight then if you're tired when you arrive stay in a hotel and make the drive home when it's light out. But you're talking to a Nervous Nelly when it comes to driving at night Update!! I got a copy of my labs to review them myself and they look AWESOME. I usually have trouble with my hemoglobin being low from anemia on and off. I've never had such a good CBC. I know it's not from my diet so it had to be the shakes and vitamins from Enspira. Wonderful!

    How is it eating bread Lew? I'm so scared. I had subway for dinner last week but just all the insides. Bread is my Achilles heel.

    OMG. I feel so bad you got sick while you're recovering I purposely got my flu shot before surgery to try to avoid it, but with the flu sometimes you just can't. Don't cry!!! At least you're building up great antibodies for the rest of the flu season! I hope you feel better soon.

    Did you get liquid Tylenol? I had SF halls for my throat too because it was sore from the intubation.

    5 Days Out From Surgery.. Poop?

    I'm 5 weeks out and that has been my only problem. It's strange that some people have diarrhea- and I don't know which is worse! I didn't have a BM til a week and a half postop and it was tear jerking. I asked if I could take something and my nutritionist said if needed MOM was ok, which doesn't cause me any cramps or uncomfortable sensations. I still have not been able to have one on truly on my own. Ask if a supplement is ok with your doc

    Healthbound and Covatila, I'm not sure. It may be a combination of a few things (back to work, long shifts, new environment), but I was chatting with Raven and the first 2 times I may have been eating too fast not paying attention. It seems like I eat at the same pace at home though. IDK. I got really warm and extra "burpy" too. My new stronger sense of smell is also noted at home- I'm having an issue with the trash can as well. I did start noticing it preop though too. I just had liquids at work and waited until I came home early yesterday to eat and I had Chipotle which I ate from twice with no problem. Also you may want to just take an OTC multi vitamin and a low carb low cal low sugar high protein shake from your healthier grocer until you get to the OCC and bring enough money with you when you go to get what you need while your there. As far as food choices, I'm still not very hungry and the food really hasn't been at the forefront of my mind. I've been eating the same things- chicken turkey greek yogurt protein shakes and jerky. You can't really vary much because of what has the high protein content. I haven't had any kind of comfort foods- the closest would be a couple small spoons of mashed potatoes with my meal on occasion. I would love to have some saltines but I don't even want to try one because then I'll remember how good they are. If you're going to be home you will be so good. Lucky!! I'm moreso thinking about what to do on Thanksgiving. Our thanksgiving is HUGE at my boyfriend's mom's home- upwards of 50-75 people and food everywhere. I want to try a couple things but the last thing I want to do is get sick. P.S. Covatila, people are very judgmental when you tell them you're going to Mexico, so fib away! Also if you haven't told them about it don't! Then you won't have to deal with people looking at you different- staring you up and down and commenting. I thought my co-workers were able to handle my being forward with my decision but some have been a bit annoying. I've had to tell 2 so far don't call me skinny (hello are you for real?) and don't stare me up and down and bring that up every time we talk. The less you have to deal with that the better, but the positive has outweighed the negatives for sure. They will look at you with a side eye to try to figure out what's different about you. That's kind of funny actually to see people try to figure out what's changed about you when they don't know.

    October 2013 Sleevers Roll call!

    When you feel better you need to kick your cousins' butts for that BK run. They could've done that another time.

    You mentioned the holidays and I've been wondering how people are feeling as the holidays approach. For most of us it will our first sleeved holiday. I dont know if I will have a bit of wine, what to try, etc. Still have some weeks to think about it!! So today is day 4 back at work. I would not have chose to work 4 days in a row sunce I work 12 hour shifts, but our schedule had no other places for me to put myself down (old nurses are very set in their ways). So I told you guys I lost my lunch the first day. The second day I "lost" my turkey jerky, and then yesterday I was talking to a co-worker and a man came up to her to speak to her and had such a strong scent ( nice way to say BO), I had to hurry and get away from him and made it outside to the fresh air and awaiting trash can which ended up with my afternoon snack I had eaten in it. I'm so sad I keep vomiting up my much needed protein. My nose is SUPER sensitive now. I was safe at home with no strange smells or situations, and now some of the things I've deemed safe to eat have not stayed down. I have today to get through and then I'll be off til Friday thankfully.

    Thanksgiving Challenge

    That's wonderful Bea! I'm happy to report that my phone app is working now. I can "like" things and refresh pages from my phone which I couldn't do yesterday. What I did was delete the app and reuploaded it to my iPhone. Now it works fine. I think we just need to be patient with the transition. Don't leave!!!

    Went back to work today to all the questions and rumors. First I was a little upset that a lot of people think it's okay to ask you how much weight you've lost. I really feel like that's no ones business- I don't know if I'm wrong or not. Then found out that somehow some people around the hospital thought I was out to get a tummy tuck (do they even do tummy tucks on thick girls?) and then another group of people heard I was pregnant! What the hell?!? The rumor mill in hospitals is so funny. Then comes lunch time and I up chucked my lunch! I was so upset. I think I got too hot in the breakroom. I purposely took all the foods I've eaten already so I wouldn't have problems. Oh well. But I made it through!

    I was meaning during the liquid part before you get to eat. It gets so annoying drinking only and not chewing anything. I will not last long though thankfully. Totally doable though!!! I'm so glad everything went well for you. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}

    October Sleevers - Who else

    So jealous. I'm not allowed to weight train per my postop instructions until 6 months out! Only walking 60-90 minutes every day and add abdominal exercises at 2 months. It seems like a long time to wait to lift weights right? {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
