Well, I've finished it, and if there are more I will definitely read them. They were really good. And a real blast from the past - 90's style. Anyone else reading it or about to read it? I can't wait to talk about it.

    the story of my unfill

Thanks everyone for your well wishes! Cindy - I was tight in the morning too. I usually didn't eat anything for Breakfast. I should have been a bit more careful than I was though. I just aggravated it too much. You have always sounded very careful, so I know you won't have the same problem I had. Sades - I wish I had found a doc like that. There is actually one here that does free fills for 1.5 years after. Shoot! Well, I can't look back now. That's part of the reason I waited so long with my problem, because I didn't want to pay for an unfill. I think my doc should maybe reconsider his policy because I think a lot of people feel this way - don't go in for an unfill because you'll have to pay. That's a little dangerous I think. Mstrina - hmm, I think mine's a 10 cc, I had 4.5, got 1.5 taken out Cindy - I should have stayed on liquids a bit longer. I think I pushed it a bit too much. If you're careful you should be okay. No, the nurse never does it and she had a hard time - but the doc we found also had a hard time finding it too - there was a lot of poking around going on. So I can't blame her. She did her best and was absolutely wonderful to me. She is a very busy nurse and sat and waited with me for probably an hour in this other doc's office. I'm just grateful all around for the people who helped me! I had the shakes afterward, it was such a traumatic experience. Momto1- I was thinking of taking something like an antihistamine. I should have tried it when I was still in my early stages of just having an aggravated tummy instead of when it was too late and I couldn't swallow at all. I'm going to need to get a fill soon too because boy oh boy I am enjoying this unfill a little too much if you get my meaning. I've also heard to take, if you're puking from the flu or something, an anti-nausea pill up the butt - sorry, I can't remember the term!! What are those things called again when you take them that way? doh! I've never done that, but I've heard it really helps because you can't swallow things, and swallowing just aggravates things more, but if you "take a pill up the butt" (sorry, that sounds so gross!!!) then it will stop your nausea and help you sleep so you're not aggravating your band. Unfortunately I didn't have any of these and I don't think it would have helped anyway since it wasn't due to illness that I was puking.

Anybody else read One For the Money yet? It's really good! I'm almost done it.

Too funny! I do the same thing - try to read one of the "100 best ever written" books. But I'm not as strict as you - I only do one for maybe every 20 trashy books. Then I also force myself to read a parenting book once in a while. I'll read a chapter of it and then go back to read my "good book", then the next night read another chapter.

My bike is talking to me!!!

TX - that is sooo your now long-gone, defunct, no longer in existence fat brain talking to you! I get it. I still think I can't do things that I now know I can. I am terribly pleased when I go ahead and do things and realize whoa, I really CAN do this now. You go man! You will have so much fun!
  6. I got my eye on you!

We did vote on Janet Evanovich "One for the Money". It kind of got blipped over though - easy to miss! :ihih: I'll start reading it soon. Has anyone else started? I'm not sure when we'll actually start talking about it - let's just say when everyone gets around to it. Then when we've all read it and talked, we can vote on another one. What kind of Easton Press novels do you have? I love classics too. I like what we're doing here too - just listing books and what we liked, didn't like. I'm getting lots of great ideas here for future books. :seeya:

Shortgal - LOVED Pillars of the Earth. He's got another one after that that's good too. I took an Art History class and I was finding a lot of interesting stuff that related to that in his book, so that may be why I liked it so much - the architecture and stuff. Loved the Other Boleyn Girl too - LOVE historical fiction
  10. Got back from holiday and lost 5!! WHOOHOO! Yeah Sades! So glad you're losing again!!

    Long time no fill...

TX - there's a doc here who would take me on as a new patient, but his fills are $700 and I'm not covered! It's ridiculous how much some docs are charging. It's like they know you're in a desperate situation so they'll take you for all you're worth. The rosy side of the picture is YOU'VE LOST OVER 100 POUNDS!!!! You're way ahead of the game, you're doing great. Your next fill will be here before you know it. Take this time to find something fun to do, like find a new hiking trail or join a biking group. Get active and get out there. You're a November Nymphs hero, don't ya know it?

Sounds good! Now, what's the title of the one we're doing? :cool2: What was Water for Elephants like? If you like vampire books have you read the ones by Stephenie Meier (sp?). It's a series, the fourth one I think is ready in the stores (but I'm too cheap, I wait until I get it at the library). I've read the first three and they're really good. There's werewolves AND vampires, all set in today's world, and believe it or not very realistic, like as if you could jump right into their world. Where I live we just had a book club on her and everyone loved her books. The Doctor's Wife sounds familiar, like I've read it before. What's that about again? I've just read The Warrior Heir which was really good. It's the start of a series. It's about a boy who was supposed to be born a wizard but actually turned into a warrior/wizard combo, again set in today's world. I checked the next books out at the library already. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Fill or no Fill/Cruise in 28 days!

I agree with the above, you'll have lots of time to unfill if you're too tight before you go .... although if you want to indulge a bit on your cruise I wouldn't. I know, I know, we're here for weightloss, but sometimes it's nice not to worry about only eating a tablespoon for supper on vacation! So to indulge or not to indulge - that is the question.

    Slipped Band

I am sooooo going to hold you to that - and you'll have to post a pic when you do too! Sades - you said you're worried about that first 4-6 weeks. But I think you'll do great because now you'll know what's going to happen, instead of the fear of the unknown (what was that pain in my left shoulder? - remember that?) Good luck on your surgery!!!

    A complication! Unlocked band.

Oh, but I didn't mean that all the hares on here will finish last! Yeah Hares!! Hmm, I'm tired and I'm sticking my foot in where it's not meant to be stuck. Y'all know what I mean, right?

Foofy, do I have to tell you the story about the turtle and the hare? Your day will come, my girl, don't worry!

    spicy food

I've been having pain too. It's weird because my last fill was quite a while ago (a few months). Then about a month into the fill I suddenly got very tight and really had to watch what I ate. I wonder if it's a case of the band finally catching up with us like what I've heard on other postings. I ate shrimp but it was battered . For me if it's covered in sauce (I'm like you Cindy!) or if it's battered, things go down good (I guess they would, hey?) But that's not going to help you with low cal! That's me too - soft, moist food goes down, and I also don't eat enough of it for calories to really be an issue.

    Newbie from Arkansas

I wonder if they're related. Mine is Mark Gibbs.

    A complication! Unlocked band.

Well, at least this time around you'll know what it will feel like post-surgery. I'm so sorry this has happened! And you've had awesome weightloss to date! This really sucks - two November nymphs having complications.
