  1. I haven't had a hair lost yet.. Can't speak on that yet.. Because I'm wearing braids.. didn't want have excuses to not work out. Ahaha. Haven't had a perm since 2003. I make sure that I have a Protein Shake once a day .. And eat my Protein first before eating anything . I will be taking my braids out shortly.. And will give you an update.

I also started exercising 2 weeks after surgery. I committed myself to 4-5 days a week. I want to capitalize on the weight lost for the first year since I have a lot to lose. I weigh 348 at pre op' date=' after pre-op 339 and now 298. At first I was being inpatient because I thought I would lose the weight quicker.. But just think..I lost 50lbs in 3 months since pre-op.. Last year I was on weight watchers from march 2012- August - 2012 started at 348 and end 322. It took me 6 months to lose 22 lbs.. And gain it back. With the sleeved process I lost 50.. Give me a break.. I had put that in perceptive . I have lost a lot of inches.. Some people at work are noticing .... All I can say is that the weight will come off..better slow.. Than fast so it will allow your body to heal properly. Those that have been sleeved this year will be talking a different tune .. Antd will be happy with our results and encouraging others next year.. Just my two cents. :) Felicia[/quote']

Thx, Felicia. Maybe I should just braid my hair until I progress. Ive been natural for a while and usually can manage until all my hair is out for days...I go crazy! It is thick! I started at 242 hw, 225 preop, and now 200 post op two weeks. I dont mind losing slowly bc I heard its best for your skin and health. I have about 60 pounds to go...im 5ft. Im currently on lots of meds so thats my motivation...medication free living. 50 pounds is good for 3 months. My doc told me to aim for 50 pounds in 6 months but look at my inches. Thanks for your response. I greatly appreciate it.

  2. Hey AA Family... I haven't post to this thread.. But I want to tell allll the newbie getting the surgery that after the surgery it get easier. I started pre-op on jun 25th and was sleeved on July 10th. I'm almost 3 months out..and feel great! After the surgery you might say.. What the heck did you do?! But it's worth it! You will ask herself why it took me so long?! Everyone have blessed day!

    Felicia

Thanks...Assan. im going to start my exercising today. 2 weeks out...feeling great. Im dropping more inches than pounds. Can you share about your hair and progress so far?

  3. Sleeved 09/09. Surgery day 221' date=' as today 210.. stall for almost a week now. Not too happy about that. Just starting pureed foods this week. Having a little bit of a hard time tasting some foods again. Seems like my taste for food is really changing.[/quote']

Yes...for some reason I had a 3 day stall then I started drinking more fluids and im bk down. For some reason, Water tastes weird to me.

  4. Lola' date=' I feel your pain. I messed up and told my sister over the weekend. She flipped out and told me that I have lost my mind. "You'll die! People die, OMG!" Wishing if just kept my mouth shut now... :([/quote']

I will never tell my sisters bc one is pure evil. Only my husband knows and if he tells I told him its divorce court...lol. seriously, I put trust in him so he better not tell a soul.

  5. Good question. I did not. The biggest chance of a leak' date=' and we do not want a leak....is the first six weeks. I wasn't hungry and was so excited about the surgery, I didn't want to do anything that wasn't on the 'plan'. I always figure, if something bad can happen, why not me!!! LOL

Good luck, week three should probably allow soft food. Go get tortilla Soup at a Mexican food restaurant, tell them more broth, less 'stuff' and just sip the broth. You'll think you're in heaven![/quote']

Yes...this soup has lots of flavor.

  6. I am also 2wk post op and given the go at ten dad to start food. First thing I had was chicken and I thought it was killing me. The biggest thing is little bits and give it a chance. With meats it's definitely a minute or so I found. I also think I feel hungry but don't feel full but have noticed a burp and that's when I stop. I also serve myself a little portion and I think between my conscience' date=' the burp, and instinct I feel satisfied with what I've had. Good luck!![/quote']

Thanks...the chicken finally settled yesterday evening. I feel great this morning. I have to remind myself....smaller bites...time it....take breaks. Maybe I was just too excited to eat chicken. Lol

  7. I really need to get with a provider because i really dont know what im "allowed" except for that paper they gave me when i left but its confusing nd i dnt like it i know how u feel when i ate that salad i had to put my finger down my throat because the fullness feelin was too painful nd i was scared i might cauae my self to leak but i hope u feel better. Goodluck

I definitely was told no salad or raw fruits and vegetables for months. I would seek a provider ASAP. Salad will fill you quickly...lots of Fiber.< /p>

  8. I am 2 weeks out. I was allowed chicken (chewed well) and puree stuff. I was tired of the Protein Shakes but I was miserable last night and today. I feel excessively full. I wish I could vomit but I cant. No nausea, stomach pains, or fever. The food is stuck. Ive had drinks all day but no food. I think I ate too much and now I am scared about a leak. Over the weekend I ate a few spoons of mashed potatoes and was feeling great. Now I am burping, gassy, and feel stuffed. Back to liquids I go... maybe its not a leak but just ate too much too soon. Also I need to have a bowel movement so I took Fiber gummies.< /p>

  9. Doing great so far! I'm getting all my Protein in and no problems drinking water' date=' just remembering to drink it. Belly is still sore, expected that, and I'm already seeing changes in my face and body! I'm very happy so far as I expected way more pain and difficulty eating. Worked a 3 hour shift (retail job) on Sunday and was a little sore after that. Just have to slow down sometimes! Glad you're doing so well and thanks for asking! :)

    SW: 299

    Surgery day: 279

    Today: 264[/quote']

Glad that you are doing okay. I am slowly drinking more fluids. Ive also learned not to chew Fiber gummies then drink diluted apple juice. I kept running out of church to the nearest restroom. Lol! Slowly learning what is best for my tummy and at what time. I was accustomed to gulping Water so trying to sip throughout the day is a lot of work. Hoping that the rest of your journey is just as great.

  10. Hello everyone' date=' my surgery was on the 10th also. So how is everyone doing? As for me, well it's been pretty smooth sailing other then one day of Constipation . I'm evening going back to work a week earlier :-)

    Starting weight 247

    Surgery Date : 208

    Today's weight : 198[/quote']

Hey, Carlasuki. I was Sept.10, too. I am doing great as well. I started pureed foods yesterday. I was on full liquids when I left the hospital. I have returned to work earlier than expected as well.
